- This film from Hillingdon Local Studies, Archive, and Museum covers a variety of scenes and activities in Hayes and Harlington during 1956: spring flowers in the park, rose bushes in bloom, newly constructed blocks of flats, the building of the grandstand at the Park Farm Stadium, and the Hayes Annual Summer Fete. The fete includes a parade, fairground rides, and a fancy dress competition with children dressed in 'national' costumes and as robots, a chief, a priest, and a drum mayorette. The falling rain does not dampen the residents' enjoyment. (The full catalogue record for this film, LSA/0498, is available at www. londonsscreenarchives.org.uk.)
