He had such a unique way of hitting the ball as you could see the ball barelly spinned at all it's like it was shot from a cannon and he also chose different strategies in terms of where to put it, half of these goals shown here are on the keeper's side the ones from far away are being hit with the inside foot for more power sure and they have a mid-range trajectory so as to eventually "bite" the ground making it harder for a goalkeeper to time it's attempt to deflect it. Because he was so versatile and efficient in having multiple strategies of executing a free kick most goalkeepers didn't knew what to expect, they can't be comitted in fully going for the parry on the opposite corner or staying their ground or going up a little forward from the goal line or staying on the goal line that's why you see some of them reacting too late.

Juninho was BY FAR the greatest free kick taker of all time. But he was also a great playmaker.
Before Juninho arrived at Lyon, they have never won a Ligue 1 championship.
In his 8 years at Lyon, they WON Ligue 1 championship 7 times IN A ROW.
Since Juninho left Lyon, they have never won Ligue 1 championship again.
Edit: There is a compilation here on YT where ALL 77 free kick goals at club level by Juninho are shown.

I've always loved seeing his free kicks; I remember seeing the one against Barcelona, and it was absolutely mad.
You'd do well to check out Rogério Ceni.

He was pirlo's idol in terms of free kicks. He practiced for hour till he finally cracked the code. You kick the ball with the inner 3 toes and you hit the ball just under the center. That placement results in no spin to the ball which makes it float. It's like floating serves in volleyball.

In essence, the ball needs to be struck from underneath using your first three toes. You have to keep your foot as straight as possible and then relax it in one fell swoop. That way, the ball doesn't spin in the air, but does drop rapidly towards the goal. That's when it starts to rotate. And that, in a nutshell, is my maledetta. - Andrea Pirlo
