This is an incredible interview. The part where he's talking about how American media can inflate the importance of a situation by the way it frames it could have been said today and not have been any less relevant
Hilarious opening question. I caught them on this tour, in London, and I guess around 90% of the audience was American! I imagine it was the same elsewhere in Europe.
Yeah, that sucked. They never recovered. They were good through 1991, but 1992 onward it was one mediocre low energy show after another. Ennui and heroin.
@Sawdust5764 True, I think Jerry knew there wasn't going to be any jumping into the Dead and take off at this point. Listen to Deer Creek '90 nothing after that rang so clear.
Not true. They had some good gigs. Hunter wrote some good songs that were never studio recorded. Jerry was sick a lot. If he gotten bypass surgery at some point they would have had another album and another good run. The attitude you exemplify is usually accompanied by Vince-bashing, which is also bullshit.
This was after Alpine Valley told the Dead to not come back. The parking lot scene getting way too big. Which was a shame because Alpine Valley had immaculate sound.

My hero
Long live the smart, sweet, kind and talented Jerry Garcia. ✌🏻🙂👍🏻
Well said!

Everyone thinks it ended with Jerry, but it really was buried with Brent

There were some great things in the last 5 years but I 100% agree with you. It died with Brent.
You can tell he is over it
6:16 " Florida, a state I try to avoid as much as possible." Well stated.

he was on point ... I can only imagine what jerry would say now :(
Losing Brent was huge.
That was Manasha with him, right? I’ve never seen them together except in a few stills.
Yes, I believe that was Manasha.
"....the exterior hassle...."
Jerry’s based .
