The double incident is where I saw for the first time, just how deeply sensitive Jethro really is, and how his goofiness often covers that up. I definitely relate to that.
I am tearing up watching how helpless he’s feeling in a way. He definitely did his job getting the defibrillator to the water. He’s one of my favorites
I've seen that terrible incident 3 times now and each time it brings tears and I just want to give the boys a hug and tell them they did everything they could. Such a sad day.
Whoever came up with the ideia to make this channel deserved a prise, really, THIS is the kind of famous "influencer" we should have on the internet because not only you guys show the reality of how dangerous an ocean can be, but also teaches sooo much about the signs there're in the beach. Since as a child I never knew what those flags and signs ment and no one ever had the patience (or the knowledge too) to explain it to me, but thanks to this channel I now know I did a few wrong things on the beach back then, which I won't do anymore, ofc. And plus, you guy, even with language barrier, tries to explain and direct the swimmers to a safe spot, such respect for that!
I almost drowned twice, once at 13 off the coast of Puerto Rico, where a friend and I were rescued by a stranger's boat. Once again at 25 in another location when I went back to visit. Rips are really dangerous. It is good to see there are actually lifeguards that do this job. Here in Florida, we have recently had several drownings, but the coastal areas don't invest in a lifeguard service. It is sad. Bondi lifeguards are heroes in my book.
@@keithrichardson3942 yeah but broken ribs are normal of you push the sternum 5 cm inwards. Which es what you Need To do for effective cpr. Better a few broken ribs but alive.
Major props to all the surfers and other bystanders that offered to help with the double patients. Instead of just standing and watching they helped by carrying them or helping with the CPR. It's scary and people that aren't trained tend to freeze up when seeing people like that (a normal response) so props to those people that fought through that response and lent a hand.

I also work in Rescue but here in the Alps in Europe, mostly regarding Mountaineering and of course Ski and Snowboarders. Gosh, this made me realize how much lifeguards do so much for beachgoers like us and how dangerous the sea actually is. I can literally feel the heartbreak and stress with the double incident. I once saved a kid from drowning by accident when I was about 10 years old. We were swimming at a popular lake during spring, lots of parents & families around. I was standing in the water with just my head above the water when I felt hands grab my arm underwater, I got scared and pulled my arm up, and a whole child appeared! He was clasping onto me like a cat trying to get out of a bathtub ans I started walking to the shore immediately. I held him up and he puked water over my back.
