Just a random comment, what I really respect about this channel, other than the quality reviews, is the fack that Mike responds to his audience. Big respect ffor that.
Hi Mike. Thank you for sharing your experience of unboxing our NightHawk headphones. We're so happy that you appreciate the packaging. Our goal was to create a beautiful, purposeful package with minimal waste, and it seems that that resonates with you. As Rahul Vinod mentioned below, the packaging artwork is by Justin Maller. We're fans of his work and feel that it echoes our own creative process: As with the component parts of NightHawk itself, each faceted shard of Justin’s work is a distinct entity made to complement the whole. Of the two cables included, the larger cable with the thickly plated silver connectors is the one that uses several of the design elements found in our loudspeaker cables: It's a truly balanced cable with high-purity Solid Perfect-Surface Copper+ (PSC+) conductors in a Double-Star Quad configuration. The thinner cable, with the gold-plated plugs, is less sophisticated but can withstand more abuse. Regarding the plugs: We reduce distortion by using Direct-Silver Plated connectors, with no sonically inferior intermediary layer of nickel between the high-purity base metal and the silver. Silver is a much better conductor than gold, but that’s not why silver sounds better as a plating, expect to a degree coincidentally. Very thin gold plating is almost aurally invisible and thicker gold causes a softer sound. Thin silver plating sounds irritating just the way silver-plated conductors do when used for analog audio. With thick silver-plate, however, such as that used on our NightHawk cable, the silver becomes dominant and the part sounds better than unplated. Thank you for your comments on the earpads. They are actually made of "protein leather," a synthetic leather made from protein powder derived from eggshells. This material was developed by the automotive industry, designed to feel pleasing to touch and cool against the skin -- great for headphone earpads. Happy listening! Stephen Mejias, AudioQuest
the driver looks incredibly similar to the ones used on denons old headphone line and even their new line, the impedance is the same too, i found this quite interesting
It looks really nifty, they put some real thought on the design. I'm a big fan of the V-moda, so I'm curious, how does the audio compare with the M-100? I'm also interested in the quality of the cabling, connectors, and the leather-like materials (is it as resistant like real leather? probably we would have to wait a few years to know that unless there's a review of the material itself somewhere :/). The plastic coating of the V-moda plugs start to tear off after a couple of years (not a big deal since I had to replace them anyway due to the gold plating wear), but the mute button breaks quite often. Overall I am still impressed by the V-moda quality, but would like to check-out alternatives, and this one looks like a good option despite the higher price...
Ismael Luceno Quite different from the M100 - both have a fair amount of emphasis on the low end, but the M100's emphasis goes deeper (sorry for the ambiguity). The M100 has some brightness areas in the upper end, whereas the Nighthawk does not (or is recessed slightly). The cables are way way different, although both tend to kink. I'd like to replace the ~3m Nighthawk cable with one around 1.5m.
How I wish that was true. My Parrot Zik 3 and Blue Mo-Fi are both $300+ headphones and come with a soft storage pouch. It doesn't make sense to me. I had to buy my own case for the headphones to store them in.
It's a digital to analog converter that cleans up digital audio jitter. It also externally amplified the headphone you plug in making a big impact on performance.

Hi, there, I am looking to buy some new headphones in this price-range. Was curious if you had a chance to compare these to the new Audeze EL8 planar magnetic, which cost only $100 more, which is this price-range does not make much difference. Would you still recommend paying $600 for a dynamic-driven headphone like here when you can get a planar magnetic from Audeze for $100 more? I imagine Audeze will sound more transparent?
No disrespect here, but a 10min unboxing of an audio product with no review of audio performance? Good unboxing, but please add at least a short audio review...
Alexander Anchondo The1andonlyBYack if so... welcome! :)

***** I'm wondering if the sound is worth the price, compared to sennheisers for example, or if they are another beats by dre. Because i have trouble taking Audioquest seriously when they try to sell you stupid 3k cables.
sir can u please unbox and review the b&o h8 headphones cause there is a mix review from everyone on the internet and i only trust u and mr tyll Thanks
Hey Mike I use to like coming to your channel for the raw unboxing videos but ever since you been editing stuff out it just does not give me the same feeling. Please go back to unedited videos they are Sooooooo much better.
i feel like mike has a bad cocaine addiction. in almost every video he is constantly sniffling and jumbling his words lol. love the videos though buddy.
I don't like Twitter either. You're fine with Instagram and RUclips. Twitter has become a place for the news media to slam celebrities whenever they say something politically incorrect. Enthusiasts will find you just fine elsewhere.

YAY!!!!!!!!!! IS AIRED!!!!!!!!!!
I know what I'm asking for my birthday!!!!
i work at best buy and we sell audioquest. in their highend cables they use silver instead of gold because it is a better conductor than gold.
the driver looks incredibly similar to the ones used on denons old headphone line and even their new line, the impedance is the same too, i found this quite interesting
It's use bio cellulose driver. just like Denon D600 / 7100.
Even Impedance is the same.
how about a sound signature?
stvalkyrie NH does not sound like Denon D600/7100.
Source side jack is exactly the same as on B&W P7

All headhones over $200 should have a nice case like that instead of a paper box.

That artwork is by justin maller!!
Can someone explain to me the purpose of the DragonFly device? I don't understand it's function.
It's a digital to analog converter that cleans up digital audio jitter. It also externally amplified the headphone you plug in making a big impact on performance.
The1andonlyBYack Is it intended to work for specific headphones and would you recommend one?
No, any standard headphone will sound substantially better when connected to a better quality digital to analog converter and amplifier.
Oh ok thanks for the info!
SplitSniper7 it improves on the computer's sound. It's essentially a high-end external soundcard.

好贵啊
i guess they made it a silver plug because silver actually conducts better than gold does. >.>

The1andonlyBYack Don't trust anyone who gives you their listening impressions when they have not lived with the product for a period of time.
The1andonlyBYack You're new here, aren't you?

Lion's Heart Productions They are definitely not Beats, but they don't sound like a Sennheiser (600/800), and probably not similar to the 650 either.
what do you think of the vsonic vsd3s

troy brown that's interesting.... Do you feel that it's not organic?
troy brown many people commented that my unboxings were taking too long so I edit them to shorten the video. I like to learn more about your feedback.
i feel like mike has a bad cocaine addiction. in almost every video he is constantly sniffling and jumbling his words lol. love the videos though buddy.
Are these poured on snake oil like audioquest cables?
Liquid gold hahaha you wish! :D
