The Sampras Becker rivalry is a lot more exciting to watch than the Sampras Agassi rivalry

Andre was afraid of Pete, or more precisely, afraid of how he would feel when beaten by Pete. Boris got beaten by Pete in some very big games, but he was such an unbelievable Alpha Male that it never seemed to bother him too much. Speaking of emotions, no other players have ever moved me like Agassi and Becker. I love them both.

Boris was still top 2 indoors in the '90-s along with Pete. Becker leads
their h2h indoors 7/6, but at the most important indoor tournament (year-end world championships) Sampras had a slightly edge and also winning the 2 finals there, but all in all, very-very even. Outdoors a different story.

Post 1992 ,Becker lost an edge to his game.
He has conceded that he played his best tennis between 1989 to 1991.
But here is more proof that even a slightly past his best Becker, was still one of the few players with genuine talent and class, that could match and surpass Sampras.
The Becker of 1985 to 1991, on the other hand would have given mid 1990s Sampras a hell of a lot more to think about than Stich,Philipoussis,Ivanisevic,Courier ect ect would eventually do.
Same with Edberg who also declined all by himself post 1993.
Sampras got lucky in that both Becker and Edberg degraded independently of Sampras's ascent in 1993-1994.
