  • Sub Zero has been manufacturing this flagship built-in refrigerator in one form or another for over 40 years. It's design is near bullet-proof. We are one of the oldest and largest Sub-Zero dealers in South Florida, visit our web-store today: bit.ly/2MvReGV
    It is, in fact, the only refrigerator on the market that actually is TESTED at the factory to withstand a minimum of 20 years of use. Here is our in-depth review of this oven.

    We spent nearly $35,000 on Wolf and Sub-Zero appliances (not from this authorized dealership tho). First, the built-in coffee maker never got to a hot temperature. Called customer service numerous times within the first month of being installed and they sent out someone to work on it but they never could get it any hotter so we don't use it since it makes luke warm coffee. Sub-zero/Wolf gave us an extended warrenty on our refrigerator because of the issue for the coffee maker??? Second, built in double oven has never been at the precise temp so we have always had to guess and bake longer and one of the lights burned out within the first 5 months of use. Third, the gas cooktop knobs do not stay in position. They will slightly turn/float so you can't get at a precise temperature. For example, if you want it on med heat and place the knobs to the middle it will eventually float to simmer. This happens to two of the knobs and started since first purchased. And last, refrigerator alarm kept sounding so I called customer service and the rep was rude and augmentative. That was the last straw and therefor this review. If you think these are top of the line appliances without issues you will be disappointed. I would skip buying because they are overpriced and definently not worth it!!

      It could be worse but that doesn’t make it acceptable. My Viking refrigerator has been replaced 2 times and the third one constantly has issues with the condensing pan and ice maker.

      The Miele coffee maker is the best. Sub Zero fridge is pretty bulletproof though.

    Can someone inform me? Should the electric power consumption of these refrigerators be high? In relation to common and normal refrigerators.

      Less actually, the compressor(s) work at a lower duty cycle on seperate circuits and the insulation/door seal is greater

    When did these refrigerators come out? Do you expect Sub Zero to come out with a new model anytime soon?

      This current model is about 4 years since update. These are products that are flagships. They update them whenever they have something truly incredible to add. There is usually at least a decade between major updates.

    Four years ago I redid our kitchen and bought a new double wide expensive built-in sub zero. I was told it was the best. Wrong.... It has broken down four times in four years. Only the first service call was covered by warranty. My unit is unbelievably noisy. I called the manufacturer and the service gal gave me the name and number of the only local recommend service company. They came out. Very expensive. And, did nothing. They said that level of noise was normal. I am going through RUclips right now looking to find a new, quieter, replacement unit. One of the service guys I used (not the one recommended by SubZero) told me that the old units were much better than the new ones. This one you can hear from one end of the house to the other. And, it is going to the dump.......

      We’ve been using ours for six months now... it was installed immediately before the Harvey flood. Given that we had JUST paid for it, I was not willing to trash it after the flood: I had to use baking soda for awhile because of meat that spoiled when we lost power and had no access to it for a week. We put in new filters, and soon it was fine. It’s very quiet and works beautifully! The freezer is ample for our small family, but a separate freezer is necessary for large party prep. Also, we missed the external water dispenser for awhile, but the wood paneled exterior is sleek and beautiful, and we soon became accustomed to opening the door for water and ice.

    I want the one that comes with the meat and cheese ageing feature. I want to be able to age my meat and my cheese over time. I think that's the frigerator that removes the oxygen from different compartments within the refrigerator itself plus wine storage.

    • @ApplianceBuyersGuide
      @ApplianceBuyersGuide  4 года назад +1

      I'm not aware of any residential refrigerator that does what you say. Aging cheese is not something consumers would be interested in doing, as its a very time consuming process and takes up tons of space. Also, refrigerators typically run at temps 10-15 degrees cooler than cheese aging requires, which would slow the process dramatically.

      That's one of the lowest costs out there for a refrigerator this size. And certainly MUCH less than it used to be. A typical customer will save on average of $150 a year in electrical savings just by upgrading their 20 year old Sub-Zero to a new one.

      @kint5ugee 5 лет назад +2

      @jeff Webb There's cheaper fridges that are long lasting and great quality. And i didn't say wealthy people don't care about energy efficiency. Just the ones buying a $12,000 fridge trying to keep up with their friends.

      @Renee Tate scrubs the air clean? Lmao! the rest of us must be dying left and right coz our fridges don't scrub the air clean inside them. Plus a typical fridge lasts 10 to 20 years. And it still won't cost $12,000 to replace a typical fridge once in a period of 20 years

    🤦‍♂️

    • @ApplianceBuyersGuide

      I did not say it "turns it into", I said the only thing that comes out is oxygen. It is an air scrubber, same as what is used on the international space station. It removes CO2, ethylene gas, bacteria, viruses.
