What do you smart engine/mechanical folks say? I am clueless.

Pull the fuse panel and make sure the connections are good. Mine had been doing intermittent stuff for the 7 years I’ve had it. Sometimes wiggling the fuses will let it start. Sometimes rain water gets in there and won’t let it start. If I had all the money back from starters, batteries, switches, sensors…. EVERYTHING IT WASN’T…..

Likely one of the safety cutoff switches under seat or on the brake or deck

All seem fine. Should still get power in the on position even if one of the safety switches is broken, I believe.

Not sure if you got an answer, but for my X728 it was common for fuse to blow. Once I would replace fuse it fires right up.

Hi. Thank you for your response. My ignition fuse was blown. But, when I replaced the fuse and tried to start again, the fuse would just blow again. There was a short somewhere. Tracked it back to the wire connection on the seat cut off switch. Fixed that, put in a new fuse, started right up! Thanks for watching, and thanks for sharing your information - greatly appreciated.

@@MuskokaRepublic my X728 just started doing the same thing! I initially thought it was the ignition switch, but mine is doing the same as yours. I’m glad I found your video and will check these spots first!

Neutral safety switch! Wiggle the reverse pedal and sometimes it will have all power. Sometimes it will act like battery is dead, people will tell you stater or voltage regulator but some grass or snow on the neutral safety switch will bone you. I’ve got a 2006 x728 se and have been dealing with this for 5+ years and changing batteries, fuses, 3 starters! I hope this helps someone

It’s on the right side tucked in the frame. There’s also another switch on the diff lock side

Did you ever figure out your starting problem? I have a 2007, JD X728SE with around 650 hours, Same thing has happened to me many times. I found that the fuse block on the left side of the engine behind the firewall that corrosion will take place even if your fuses look good. Replace all of them with a High quality type, not from "HF" ... Also, take a small file and clean the female end on both sides of each fuse. I now just replace my fuses every 6 months. Pacific Northwest area climate...WET. Good Luck.....

Thank you for all the recommendations - very good to know. It ended up being an issue with the seat switch - kept blowing the fuse. Ended up replacing the switch and all good!

Check your fuses. Probably burnt ignition fuse. Or if kept in a shed, check for chewed wires from mouse. Good luck.

Will check fuses, thank you. Also thinking it could be the starter solenoid.

My no light on dash think it’s the key switch

I am having this exact problem. Ran fine, parked for 30 minutes, then this. Was able to jump start, so I considered my battery may be the problem. Coincidentally my battery tested as weak, so I replaced it, worked fine, shut it off thinking all was well. Next day, back to no start. I pulled and looked at the fuses on left side interior of under dash, all were fine. Lifted my seat tugged on the wire to seat sensor, started up and ran fine once, shut off and was back to no start. I am doubting a blown fuse due to it's intermittent occurrences. I did not see that you had a clear solution. Anybody have an answer?

It was a loose seat sensor for me. No issues since getting it tight in place.
