    Lyrics:
    Ponyville to Pinkie Pie...
    Ponyville to Pinkie Pie...
Seems you've left us, and we're all still wond'ring why
    Ponyville to Pinkie Pie...
We still love you, don't you hide
If this reaches you, you'll know just what to do...
    (Ponyvillians)
This is Ponyville to Pinkie Pie
    Just wanted you to know
That we miss you, and we wish that you were home
But it's not our place to say where you should go
    (Pinkie)
Seems that I've been lying to myself
    It's never been so hard
And I think my hooves taken me too far
Guess it's time I stopped and listened my heart
    (both)
But here are we sitting at an impasse
    Trapped on the moon
Rocket ship is gone and I'm not where I belong
    (Pinkie)
    Though I've tried convincing otherwise
    I'm feeling so alone
Things aren't looking on the bright side anywhere
If I just had some way home--
    (Ponyvillians)
    --We'll take you there
Pinkie Pie, the time has come
It's not too late, so just hop on
    Are you ready, Pinkie Pie?
Are you with us, Pinkie Pie?
Can you hear us, Pinkie Pie?
    Can you--
    (Both)
Here are we flying home together
    Last glimpse of the moon
Tragedy is gone, this is where we all belong

    what a sad coincidence
glad i got to sing on this (and maybe play the solo? I can't remember if that was me or not).
    RIP Bowie.

With all due respect, I am very sorry for the loss of a beloved friend, but may I ask who David Bowie is?

    • @4everfreebrony
      @4everfreebrony  8 лет назад +9

+Cheerful Radiance Bowie was a music legend starting in the 60's. He was the writer of the song "Space Oddity" that this song is a parody of. Interestingly, Space Oddity was written in response to Stanley Kubrick's 1968 Classic: 2001 A Space Odyssey (written by Arthur C Clarke). Bowie was fascinated by the movie.

+4everfreebrony wow, the Space Oddity truly is an amazing song to listen to. I'm sure he was a great loss to many, but also a great man. R.I.P. To David Bowie. To a guy, who even though I may have barely known, made an amazing impact on many different people, and created amazing music, which I can't believe I haven't heard before. R.I.P. David Bowie. I'm sure we will all miss you

Really eerie that this particular song happened to be scheduled for RUclips release the day Bowie passed away. o.ONice little parody though. An excellent fit for the album.

What I love about your music, is the fact that you don't stick to just one genre (or at least how it sounds) I hear some Folk songs in here, rock, Easy listening, and much more. I just love how diverse your sound is. And the people who you collab with is pretty cool too. But the diversity of sound in one's band isn't very common, and I don't think it has been. I'v only seen it with you, Aviators, Mandopony, Forest Rain. And I absolutely love that feeling, that there's always something new.

+Pinkie Twinkle Thanks, will share you nice comments with 4EFB in our next email to him. When I wrote the intro for Small Horses for him, I remarked on this exact thing: "Looking at all the songs, I think it expresses my growth as a singer/songwriter, and as a musician, and at my craft of recording. It also shows the breadth of my musical interests. One of the cool things about being a young musician finding your 'sound', is that you are going to be all over the map for a while until you find it, and this album is no different. There's Pop and Folk-Rock, there's Choral and Acoustic Guitar, there's Classic Rock and Rock Instrumental. There are soft sweet ballads and gooey pop stuff. I hope you enjoy it all!"

LMAO ok, ok, for all you younger bronies, seen some of ya are mistaken about this parody song..... It's a parody of *Corection, it was by David Bowie, Space Oddity*. The album covers name is also Parody. The Pink Floyd album is Dark Side of the Moon. No disrespect just wanted it cleared up. (God I'm old...) Also props 4EverfreeBrony this is an awesome track! Megaphoric as well.

+1God1Fury A legendary musician. If you have any interest in 70s rock then you should listen to his music. If not then you might still appreciate some of his film appearances such as the movie Labyrinth.

The original song that this is covering/parodying should be mentioned in the title or the description at least :/ I don't remember which one it is right now (Beatles? Beach Boys? I don't remember) but I definitely recognize it and yeah a whole part of the original is pretty much copied here so it would be great to mention it :) The classics must not be forgotten!

    • @Makenshi179
      @Makenshi179 8 лет назад

+Darksoulpoetry The Pink Floyd reference in the title of the album is alright, I was not talking about that ^^" (Pink Floyd is my favorite band by the way) But yeah the original song this is parodying should be mentioned.

To be fair... while I like the song (I have very mixed feelings about it), I wish it hadn't been a parody. It's the pivotal turning point in the entire story. While it, I guess... probably "should" be the most emotional piece, copying (and if you're wondering, I DO like his music) David Bowie detracts from it. Doesn't mean I think it's bad, but I believe it could have been better. But then... apparently this got released just hours before Bowie was catapulted into the great beyond, so now I have to factor that bit of eerie into this whole thing. But on a more technical analysis, for me, this song is dwarfed by songs on the album like "Without Me" and "Reality," and I feel like it could have had a LOT more power than it does.
All that aside, after listening to this album WAY too many times, I just realized what Pinkie's moonshot story means to me, and no other song in the album describes it so fluently. I threw away so much for what ended up being a false idea. The rise of... all of this... was something I'd dreamed of since far before FiM was an idea in Lauren Faust's mind, and in my partially self-imposed exile, I missed it all. Now I'm asking the same question Pinkie is. What have I done, and how do I fix it? Is it even possible to fix it? The (rocket) ship has sailed. In 2018, when everything is in its decline, all I want to hear is, "It's not too late, so just hop on."

...my mom just fucking 3 minutes ago told me that this song is a parody. Or cover or whatever you call it. I never knew before. I feel like a fucking idiot now. I feel like i was lied to, even though i wasn't. I'm too young to know some crap songs from dead people. And then I listen to my favourite album of all times and next day my mom tells me 'this guy? You don't know him? He sung the song you listen to often'. I'm absurdly dissapointed. I honestly love the whole album but I really prefer when someones work is well, this persons work. And it is- you worked hard, and the effect is great and i like this version waaay more than original. But it still makes me feel like fucking shit. That I didn't know. Even though i could just read description of the specific song. It still fucking made me cry for some reason. I know i'm over reacting. It just feels so damn not fine when you learn that the song from your beloved album is in fact some other version of a song that already existed. More, people around you know the original and laugh at you when you don't know what they are talking about. I'm not gonna listen to that song for some time. I feel uselessly betrayed.
Sorry. I love the album, your parody of the song is great. But it just hurts to know that it's not your own creation. It's absurd to think that, but i feel what i feel. And I'm damn dissapointed that this song wasn't created by you but some other guy.
Though it still doesn't change the work you put into it, thank you for working hard on the album.
