The revolution is happening. More and more DJs are giving djay Pro a try and liking it. I've been playing around with it for years but this year I finally made the switch to using djay Pro as my main DJ software. My biggest hurdle was getting used to the layout and finding all of the features. I use it with my iPad and Macbook Pro and have my iPhones as a back up. I finally bought a Rev 5 once it was officially supported.

I bought a reloop elite mixer and was going to start with serato, until I saw Djay with DVS, that combination with Apple Music was THE turning point.

Yo, I have used it on my iPad for over 10 gigs now with no issues. Like you said, as an open format dj, it allows me time to entertain my clients. As an old ass dj, djay just makes it easier for me. I don't care what other dj's say about my software. As long as I'm moving my crowd's ass and getting that bag, I'm golden. Thank you very much!

I’ve been using it since ’07. It has saved me many times. The perfect backup, Now that it accepts Apple Music, that’s a game changer. The beat grids are so good i can do events with no headphones. I haven't used headphones to mix w/Djay in 12 yrs. I can prove it for those who doubt me

I have used many different DJ softwares over the years. Got into digital djing with Djay 2 on the iPad.
Then got an idjay pro to use with the iPad. It was next level then. Progressed through traktor Serato and a bit of rekordbox. Went onto Denton’s engine dj with an sc live 4 about a year ago. Engine is great but I went back to look at Djay pro a while ago. Had a play liked it and now it’s compatible with my Sc Live I get full hands on and midi mappable controls. Not to mention the Stems neural mix controls. It’s missing the screen to make it perfect but the jogs have the time, motion and bpm counters working so that’s a great start. I now have more options than ever before. Time people moved on from the whole sync debate and just get more creative with this stuff. The beat sync works great on old original tracks too. So it’s really cool. No need to find edit or regrids / redrums etc. Djay has an auto gain which means you don’t have to process your music any more, Not to mention the price is so reasonable right now,

I switched over from Traktor a few years ago. Late last year I got my Viture glasses and Djay pro was working with it once I got the software on my iPhone 15 pro straight from my phone. It's the only way I use it now when I broadcast from home. So even without the glasses I have Dj'ed out with it and my small Mixtrack Platinum controller and my Iphone. I have a small USB breakout box I plug everything into and it all works flawlessly. I am also able to show the software in my home broadcast so everyone can see Djay pro in my broadcast and see my song's, my technique and all. Great software and best stems for me when it comes to software version to Dj.

Vdj user here and ive been testing djay for the last 6 months and these are some of my observations. Djay pro is coming along and they do hv some advanced features and the dynamic beat grinding is phenomenal... when it works. I'm saying that cause there are a lot of tracks that the bpms were read wrong from djay... it's basically not that reliable compared to vdj.
Then there's the integration on some gear is not that great like ddj 1000, flx10, but i see that djay has now got thebl waves in the displays for the ddj800 however the fx strip is another thing thats not integrated. In that department vdj wins for sure.
I've done side by side stems comparisons and the acapellas are more clean with less dropout than djay & serato. Virtualdj is equally as fast in opening and closing, but when it comes to analyzing and library management djay falls behind. Djay pro is also more resource hungry on the laptop which has resulted in latency issues when applying stems on 2 of my laptops. Just a few reasons why I'm not switching

  • @djtwilite318
    @djtwilite318 3 месяца назад +3

from what ive looked at and used vdj is the best of all of them. ive been using vdj from day one and I cant find one DJ software that can compare to all of its features. dj pro is cool for tablet use but and one of the features that really has stuck out over the past few years is the genius and ask the dj feature in vdj, clients and their guests love the ask the DJ feature for requests and tips. they say that serato is the industry standard and its true its standard, vdj is the industry upgrade, but it would be nice if you did a comparison with vdj next if you haven't already.

I am serato guy myself. I have also tried to use djay pro and l think it is way ahead of serato and even rekordbox. their stems are clearer, and it seems like the software is compatible with most controllers. tbh l had to get a crack version of it because the price is a bit high considering its not yet that popular. I also liked the fact that it can read my serato crates. But it only reads crates that are local in the computer. For me most of my crates are in the USB. but overall, djay pro is the best, they even have a feature to allow you to download genre beats which u can use to remix songs on the fly!

@@DJDUMusic Ok.. ok... ok... ok... So, I absolutely love it so far! I bought DJPro - downloaded and installed it - connected my FLEX 10 and the app found it in under 4 seconds! Just crazy! I've been playing around and practice mixing on it (with and without sync). The app is fast and responsive - easy to understand and managing playlists is a breeze! I did notice some hiccups when using sync; for example, I've got a track playing on deck 1 then I hit play on deck 2 and sometimes, deck 2 would start, then start over again - and at that point, be out of proper bar count in the blend. Good thing I can mix without sync and am assuming this issue will be resolved in a future update. STEMS work flawlessly and as good as Serato. My only wish is that this app could import M3U files. I build playlists using CrateHackers and found that I couldn't import my M3U files into DJpro. Otherwise, I absolutely love this app so far! I'll test it out for throughout next week to decide if I'll use it with my upcoming wedding gigs in September.

Thanks for your insight and the time spent making this video. I'm an old-school jock that went from vinyl to Serato years ago. S e r a t o has an advantage in library management. If you are using local files. It writes your cue points and meta data directly into the MP3 itself, making it much more portable and reliable. That is something I think other brands are missing. I don't think they understand how valuable that is

I can mix by ear when I have to, and I’m sure I’ll get some hate for this, but seratos tempo match display feature is so clutch when mixing older records where tempos jump and aren’t actually what they say they are. I know you can manually change the beat grid, and sometimes I will for effects etc. but I don’t think there’s a need for sync when you have that feature. Especially when quick mixing, you can adjust the tempo slider so quickly.

Great video, i was thinking of giving it a test after hearing more and more good things, just downloaded the trial version. Ive been on Traktor and serato for since about 2006. Looks great so far, a few key things missings.
    1. Filtering by genre with smart lists, alot of DJ's use the genre field for multiple genres, eg 80s / 90s. You cant do this in the same way you can with other smart list options in DJ Pro.
    2. One thing i cant find is beat jump in dual deck display view, its there in the single view.
Its only gonna get better, looks like it has alot of the features that i like in Traktor that arent in serato.

Concerning beatgridding, first beat off a lot of times.
Running a loop will shift pretty quick, even if you quantize/sync.

D.J. AY is the greatest, however, sometimes it crashes on the most craziest times when you’re DJing. I have the M4 2 TB, of course, with the extra core and even though I’m not text savvy like that, I thought it would fix the problem, but it doesn’t! Yes, it works and when it does, it shines, but there are times when it will crash on its own and in an opportune moments. I’ve done parties and it has crashed on me. I think it’s because of the updates and all this clouting bullshit but who am I to say like I said I’m not that savvy. If you do use this in a while, please make sure to have a back up and when you rate your new video, please do a full and thorough as well as unbiased review. Great video can’t wait for the next one…

I have used all of them. Started on VDJ and it was my favorite for a like 15 years till bought an XDJ XZ last November. This is how I would rate them.
      1. Rekordbox - It’s like a mix of all of them wrapped in one.
      2. VDJ - Just brilliant, smart, sensible. It just makes sense.
      3. Djay the most fun, by far. I am overwhelmed by how many possibilities there are with the effects section. But has many quirks. Like the layout is limited. I need a lot more things on the screen than what it shows.
      4. Serato - Just crap, I’m sorry. It just doesn’t make sense. Don’t get me started with crates and the library section, settings, Something as simple as you set something, and when you close it up and open it again, you have to set it again. That program just doesn’t make sense in so many ways

I went crazy as long as "beat sync interval" stood at 4 beats

I’ve been using it since it was first made available on Mac. What made me switch was the ability to manipulate Spotify tracks. I’m a request approved DJ for private parties so I want to be able to play the customers’ favorite tracks. I never went back to Serrato

I really enjoy DJ Pro on iOS! More so than on Mac OS.
I’m a long time Serato user and I really like Serato’s stability and library management.
Once I used DJ Pro on Mac at a video gig and it crashed so I haven’t used DJ Pro on Mac since.
DJ pro on iOS in my opinion is way more stable when loading streaming tracks than Serato on Mac and has not let me down at the few gigs I’ve done w/ it.
The crash at a video gig and the library views and management are the main reason I’ve been staying w/ Serato but I do want to move to iPad w/ DJ Pro the only thing stopping me is I need an iPad w/ more memory…

I think djay pro just became relevant again After the Big 5.0 update some months ago and they improved with every update since then. First they fixed the poor stems quality and introduced fluid beatgrids and crossfader fx with 5.0. With the latest big update they finally introduced more relevant hardware compability. I think this was keeping lots of DJs away from it. But now everyone with a flx10 or a performer can use it.

I started on dJay. I had a crappy controller and I mixed gigs at the L.A. County Fair on dJay, and I loved it. I have 30k MP3s and it made my life really easy. The dJay remote allowed me to move around the club and check sound while still keeping the mix going. It was everything to me as a DJ.
Until they started trying to charge me a monthly fee.
I got a Serato license as a gift and never looked back. I love Serato, even though I know how to do about a third of what it's capable of accomplishing.
I buy software. I don't rent it. I dumped Adobe for the same reason (and I *loved* Photoshop like it was a family member). As someone who bought every version of dJay prior to that, the monthly charge (and then borking backwards compatibility, as even playing MP3s from my phone or iPad started not working so well) felt like a betrayal to me, as I'd had championed it and endured the slings and arrows of Serato DJs looking at me funny.
If they come up with a single time price, I'd debate coming back, but I'll *never* pay monthly for software.

Serato obsoletes a lot of controllers and just will not support them tell me about my day but this will support almost anything. I have a TTM 57 mkii let me know when it is it is a beautiful mixer turn on my bed serato doesn't support it anymore

I think a major reason is the subscription fee. I get that they have to make money and Serato technically has one as well but as someone who’s already paid 2k on a mixer and 2k on a controller and a few hundred on pools a month and X amount on lighting software ect any more monthly fees is a turn off. Do they have a buy out right yet?
