    Does Maltese MRVP has the same requirement to maintain permanent residency (i.e. visit every two years)? Also, which country has better reputation/law system (Malta or Cyprus)?

    • @OffshoreCitizen
      @OffshoreCitizen  3 года назад +1

      With the MRVP you go straight to permanent residency.
      The situation in Cyprus is more complicated, considering the issue of North and South.

    • @libertarianspirit
      @libertarianspirit 3 года назад

      @@OffshoreCitizen Yes, MRVP is in my short list after liquidity event :) I want to get Saint Kitts and Nevis passport and MRVP. But in subsequent years I want to quit my current citizenship after I test my Kitts and Nevis passport for few years. So ideally I want MRVP to be for my Caribbean passport. However if I apply for Kitts and Nevis passport, it might take up to a year in some cases before I get actual passport. During this period, Malta might abruptly end its MRVP (and we seen last year how fast Cyprus ended their program). So I think it might make sense to apply simultaneously for both MRVP and Kitts and Nevis passport and then transfer MRVP permit into Kitts and Nevis passport. What do you think about this plan?

    • @lucasbridges8082
      @lucasbridges8082 3 года назад +2

      Cyprus is not part of the Schengen Area. Therefore, residency permits from Cyprus do not confer ANY rights to enter or stay within the Schengen Area for any individuals which do not hold EU citizenship or a valid passport from a country which already allows visa free travel to the Schengen Area. I.E. if you needed a visa to enter the Schengen Area before, you still will after securing the residency permit.

      Italy is good only for watch touristic places, eat, dress and in general to buy many goods...but is absolutely to avoid if you decide to invest or to get residency... it's really a nightmare also for Italians happy to escape by this country when they can and considering the huge amount of expatriates already gone away, Italian government is trying to propose new taxation regimes which in reality do not exist...The new proposed amendment regarding 15% taxation is not true, because this is referred only to the basic one, after you have to pay the mandatory Ilor and Ires which haven't any reduction (both in combination are another 12%) and is not enough...in Italy when you create a company, you have to put in count that the government should consider your business under such categories and per each of them they apply a minimum tax also if you haven't yet started your business....In few words the total 42% basic taxation with this new law is reduced of only 5% till such yearly turnover limits...after start again a basic 42% till 61% if you gain good money.... don't believe?Go in Italy, invest there and when you loose your money then you will remember this post

    Have you ever considered a video for us people with criminal records? All the research I've come across is the standard criminal record check. If their isn't any countries are there countries that are more open in that regard into allowing that or are there strategies that we should be considering such as setting up businesses there to employ locals rather than just the standard citizenship via investment

    • @OffshoreCitizen
      @OffshoreCitizen  3 года назад +2

      Unfortunately criminal record is a huge impediment when it comes to residency & citizenship in another country. How big of a problem is it will depend on what kind of criminal charges one had. For example some South American countries may be open to people with criminal record, as long as it’s not something they consider serious. This is a very broad topic and will totally vary from country to country. Some places won’t touch people with a record, while others will be more flexible.

    I already have EU citizenship, will not spend more than 2-3 months in any country, this could be a good option

    • @OffshoreCitizen
      @OffshoreCitizen  3 года назад

      The important question for you would be: what are you trying to achieve by getting this residency?
      If it’s for tax purposes, you’d need to spend 60 days per year there, plus you wouldn't be able to hold residency anywhere else.
      To maintain this visa, you don't need to live in Cyprus. The minimum requirement is one day every two years.
      Since you're already an EU citizen, you technically don't need this visa.
      Again, if you want to set up residency in Cyprus for tax purposes, you would actually have to spend some time there.
