@Burundian Traveller tell me what you see or how you feel about our road infrastructure...can you compare Kenya and Burundia?
There's is a big difference between others countries
1. The facts that Kenya is the East African economic powerhouse, that Burundi had a civil war from 1994 to 2000, that Burundi had political instability from 2015 to 2020, that Kenya is about 21 times larger than Burundi, that Kenya has a population density of 78 people per square km while Burundi has 401people per square mile will have to be taken into consideration when comparing the infrastructures of the two countries.
2. Every corner of Burundi is fairly accessible by road: there is even a boda boda/motocycle taxi on my native hill in Burundi, and recently I was surprised to find out on Google Maps that the road I used to take in early 1960s to go to primary school (about 6km from home) has a number in the Burundi road network (RP25, RP stands for route provinciale/provincial road).
And you can board a direct bus from Burundi to Kigali (Rwanda) to Kampala (Uganda), to Dar es salaam (Tanzania), to Bukavu (DR Congo).
3. I don't know how the information is current, but according to one source:
``Burundi has a road network of nearly 12,000 kilometers. According to the Highways Authority, the inland road network consists of a network of 4,456 km of classified roads (i.e., the maintenance of the Highways Office), including 22 national roads with a linear 1952 km and 91 provincial roads with a total linear of 2522 km. Of the classified roads, 1647 km of roads are paved, compared to 305 km unpaved.
Three categories of roads are identified. First, the national roads (RN) that connect provincial leaders with each other and with the borders. Then comes the 2,522 km provincial roads that connect the chiefs of the communes with each other and with the provincial chiefs. Finally, there are communal roads of a length of 2,587 kilometers, very strategic, which connect hills, municipalities and provinces. The unclassified network, which is the responsibility of local authorities, comprises 6,150 km of roads of communal interest and agricultural trails, and 462 km of road inside Bujumbura. (Source: link)..."

4. The Burundian government could start the construction of a branch of the standard gage railway (SGR) which will originate in Uvinza in southwestern Tanzania and run 156 km to the Malagarasi River separating Tanzania and Burundi, and from there it will reach Gitega, the capital of Burundi which is 126 km away. Later on the SGR infrastucture will cross Burundi and continue into the Democratic Republic of Congo until it reaches Kindu in the Maniema Province.

Young man you must have made lots of money here in Kenya?! I been born and bred here and have never gone beyond Murang'a! Imagine Turkana of all places!
Exactly 💯
Sure 😃, turkana is like home 🏠 because I used to live here 💪💙
Turkana might have nice view for the average Kenyan citizen or foreign tourist, BUT LIFE IN A REFUGEE CAMP LIKE KAKUMA IS ALWAYS HARD.
In 1978 I made what I called a trip for my political education and I visited a camp for Burundian refugees in western Tanzania (Uliyankulu camp?or Mishamo? camp) and mosquito bites were unbearables (I guess it was impossible to have a (spare?) mosquito net for the people who graciously hosted me for one or two nights).
Fortunately during the 6 years I spent in Tanzania as a refugee, I didn't have to live in a camp, I had a good job in Dodoma, capital of Tanzania.
Safe travels
Thank you 💕 very much dear
Safe journey
Thank you 💕💕
