    I couldn't tell what was your first method to determine which rod was bad. The second method was simple enough. My local dealer said they'd have to drop the oil pan (for $700) to determine if it was a bad rod! I sent them this video.

      I believe unplugging the connector for the coil, so the particular cylinder doesn't ignite reducing the noise if it that one.

    6 years later, you could have done them in pairs. Cylinders 1 and 4 and 2 and 3. No need to turn the crank as many times

    Is your engine still somewhat save able after that if you change the camshaft and the bearings

    Dang mine doesn’t sound as loud but likely the same area of noise as mine since I just got a new timing belt.

      What’s does the timing belt have to do with it?

    • @ImSoFawesome
      @ImSoFawesome 3 года назад +4

      @@KevinVinny713 It doesn’t. I had just got my car and thought the noise was a loose timing belt tensioner or something but it’s just my motor going out.🤣

      That is what I need for mine as well. Im planning on just rebuilding the whole bottom end on mine. It also needs a new head as well and just about every thing else.

      A new block at the junk yard is 300.
      And a complete JDM engine is 700 with everything included plus they are low miles. All you need to change is the intake manifold because the one from japan has the throttle body on the opposite way.
