Johannes (Joop) Smits shares his journey across the world in working with companies to address the gender gap. What started as an ‘after 6 o’clock’ initiative became a full time commitment and he created a movement of people in business and consulting that face difficult issues head on. In this talk Joop explores root causes of gender inequity in different societies as well as ideas for companies to address gender equality and the wider diversity and inclusion challenges. Johannes (Joop) was born in the Netherlands and lived in Amsterdam, Paris and Geneva. He has a longstanding career in HR and he sees people as the most important assets companies have. Over the last years, he supported companies across the world in reducing gender pay gaps from a vision that reducing the gender pay gap will benefit women, bolster business performance and strengthen the global economy.
