I was just a kid. I'd hang out on the floor drawing while my mom watched TV after cleaning up supper, and doing the dishes. She had watched Mary Tyler Moore, and Rhoda, and got into this. I didn't really pay attention to the 1st two, but this show ALWAYS sucked me in.
It was compelling, with it's mix of drama, subtle humor, and timely topics. It always tried to be fair to them, like journalism should.

These bring back such memories, and are testimony that television once featured an array of talented performers, artists, and technicians.

Too bad they were all out out of work when Reagan forced the cancellation of the show because he didn't like Asner's politics regarding El Salvador. The other "trickle down."

I have always thoroughly enjoyed good acting! I SO appreciate the talent and skill of Marcia Rodd when I viewed this episode. She was Lou's dating interest in a couple of the earlier episodes; however, her persona was a total 180 from that part. I thought it was the same actress but was uncertain because she was talented enough to "play the part" and it changed her appearance so much I had to research to be certain it was the same person. Standing applause!!!

Why in the world would the robbers/kidnappers ask for a Ford Fairmont as their getaway car? 👀 😂

1:30--"Written by David Lloyd." Mr. Lloyd, 1934-2009, wrote mostly for sitcoms ("Mary Tyler Moore," "The Bob Newhart Show," "Taxi," "Cheers," "Frasier"), so it's interesting to watch a dramatic episode he wrote. His son Christopher Lloyd--not the actor from "Taxi" and "Back to the Future"--also wrote for "Frasier."

We never got to see the recent Ghislane Maxwell Trial, if one can call that a trial.
We were spoiled by the OJ Simpson Trial.
Very much so. From his High Speed Chase on the freeway in his Bronco to the rest of the shenanigans...

Airdate 25JAN82: 25:55 If people want subtlety let 'em read the New Yorker. 27:55 since when do reporters read there own stories. They wrote it, why do they need to read it? 41:20 She was asked about TV cameras; what does the Tribune have to do with that?

Absurd to ask a child IF an adult man hurt them when they know guns were pointed at the children, they were yelled at, the shock of those thugs bursting in, cops surrounding the building, having to run out to safety some of them, others grabbed & taken away in the car. What was Billie's point?!

Judge Stromeier had a slight Irish accent...
Is it Stromeyer? He does sound like Anthony Hopkins, which is fine with me...

Why does the judge talk with a foreign accent? He sounds like Anthony Hopkins. But it is not realistic.

Asner couldn't help but introduce his own ultra liberal views into the shows as they went on, and thats why the show was dumped and this episode clearly Shows us that. Interesting to note that today the liberal view on this episode would be the complete opposite and sound something like this - "of course all the kids were psychologically damaged and none were ever able to eat peanut butter again too ...."
