Bruh... I hate when people think I would be complaining about this because I am autistic; I was the first of my friend group to find this funny! And what makes it better is IT IS NOT A PARODY!
But aren’t you happy they put out a version that everyone can enjoy? When I go to parties and people start getting drunk and doing drugs, people don’t say “hey let’s get fucked up, let’s get retarded”. The they say “let’s have a heck of a good time everyone, let’s get it started”.
I am so glad they have the original version on RUclips. As an autistic person, I found the original version especially funny. I can take a joke. Thanks for sharing this 😊 iTunes has apparently banned it in the US because they can’t take a joke.
I know they changed this because the original title and word are considered offensive. But by doing so, they actually created two unique “bookends” to a night of partying. “Get it started” is the beginning of the night. This is what happens a few hours later at 2AM.
Actually they reworked it as "Let's Get It Started," as promotion for the 2004 NBA Finals. The It gettinf started in that song is the Finals, and it mostly took off from there.
I think it’s funny that they literally aren’t using this in an offensive way at all (which they say in the song) and all platforms still took this version down and just left the clean spike remix up. Especially the type of music that’s out nowadays
even if they didn’t mean it to be offensive, it is still kinda tone-deaf to say a slur repeatedly. Likewise with the epilepsy line personally, I’m don’t feel offended by this (although I wasn’t really bullied for being autistic), but if someone is offended, I do not blame them in the slightest
I wasn't even aware of this version's existence. If it wasn't for *Internet Historian* mentioning it in his *rejected.* video , I still would be thinking that "get it started" was the only one.
@@gunslingergirl2579 yeah. the quality is also pretty.. compressed, so i can't tell if the original song had that at one point and then someone edited half the lyrics to have the word, but the chorus did make me doubt thats just one clip used
Bruh I remember riding down the road with my mom when I was like 6 getting DOOWN to this song. This version is fire, that "Let's get it started" bullshit needa go.
It's certainly ironic how a song symbolizing the current society is getting banned by the current society. Thanks for carrying me through the school, BEP
I’ll give the Peas this, at least they knew the original title could be considered as offensive at the time. And even if it had to be changed, the very first line in the first verse still sort of makes sense. What it's saying is that even though there are people who are offended by the word "retarded", the "context" of it as used in the song isn't meant to be taken that way. It's meant as a way of saying "lose yourself and get crazy". That being said, the radio edit version doesn't really seem to make sense in comparison given that it's a slightly different title. I honestly still can't believe it took them this long to have the original version of the song removed completely. At this point, it's considered a lost track unless you were able to purchase Elephunk on CD or get it off of iTunes and/or Spotify before the song was removed. Nowadays, the only way you can find it is looking it up on RUclips.
oh man my favorite gen alpha playlist was this along with skibidi bop bop yes yes and digital circus theme song and fucking oi oi oi song with my hero academia characters in it as of emo goth boy
I’m one of the wokest guys ever but there ain’t a damn thing wrong with song…it ain’t nothing but pure love and fun in this song, no hate…keep blasting it!
Question: Is it okay when you say it but wrongspeak when we use the word in our own sentences? Why teaching us banned words in music if it means we get censored as soon as we use it? Damn R word.
@@ShephardDragon lol just got censored for the word re-tarded, so I thought that if the Black Eyed Peas have the right to, then I should have the right to use that word too.
@@ShephardDragon Censorship is such plague. We can't say fu-ck, we can't say re-tard, we basically can't speak the lyrics of a wu tang clan song aloud or get punished. But when Wu-Tang do it, it'S fine.
@@ShephardDragon Skrillex can want to kill everybody in the world, but if you sing it along, it'S hate speech. Basically, it's all a trap. They make you adopt an expression, then they punish you. Next up, a song called "baggelousie" "hey you'Re so baggelousie" "What does that mean?" "I don't know but it's the latest word banned on social medias, let's make it trendy so people loses their account en-masse"
@@SaintMatthieuSimard But the black eyed peas DID get punished. This version of the song has banned almost everywhere, and has been replaced with the more radio friendly version: “Let’s get it started”.

I had this album in 05
I had this track on repeat
Mad af they took it off Spotify
Of course they would. This is a very pc world we live in these days. Especially America
i had the cd that i bought from HMV in Canada i think this version is so much better
PC babies ruin everything
Thank you for sharing that. I've also been mad af. Missing that song throws my whole groove off.
Discovered this version today as while studying for a test the amazon music algorithm played it for me.
I'm so glad RUclips has the original song.
I love using youtube music instead of crappify (spotify) since I can just like any video and it becomes a song in my library!

This song is MY THEME SONG
Same here, pretty salty they removed it from spotify !
why the fuck is there so many autistic as fuck people in the comments. go touch grass
And the song wasn’t out to hurt anyone. But yet it got stomped on.
I had the toothbrush that sang this song while you brushed, but the clean version. This changes so much, thanks mom
Depending on the time it was made... if it was the 80's im not sure it will have changed that much

Criminally interviewed and under quality. This is the version we all need

Shit still bangs so hard, that baseline man is so fucking iconic, one of my fav baselines to play
Agreed it goes so hard, the walking bassline is so fun. Especially when the drums kick in the verses/chorus and you play harder.
