Nice review. when you talk about the strap at 4:05 and you use it to go to the shed, you can turn the head of the flashlight at 90deg up so the light is pointing ahead. Would that work?
Does the carrying straps hook slide on the belt. If you are wearing the light, can the hook slide to front and hook on the lights useless hook to keep it up?
Hey... I hear the comment about the head's apparent lack of adjustability. I like the "straight-up" attitude, though. You might try rigging up a used photographer's umbrella atop an old microphone stand. Then you'd get a nice diffuse light for working on stuff, with that beam pointed straight up. The only thing with that is that you'd need a couple of "pigs," what I call 25-pound canvas-covered sandbags, serving to anchor the base of the stand. Hope this helps... I haven't tried it though. Not yet...
Nice review and insights to improvements. I was thinking about the useless hook, and it could be more useful if you used an S-Hook or a wire to wrap around. I have some flexi cable ties for extension cords that would also be helpful for that light.
You really did not get how to use the hooks and strap, all you said it cant do, I do all day everyday. Think and test a little more, you will realize how perfectly the hooks and strap design is genious. The only downside I MUST agree with you is flipping the head down, this is really annoying, the rest is just you that do not realize yet how to hook it. Tip: the hook and strap can be combined to create really secure hooks and in ANY desired positions, even carry it shinning forward... carry it strapped but not in front of you in your chest, but sideways under arm with head pointing 90 up, under the arm it will shine forward.
I use this light almost daily and I still don't think the steel hook serves any feasible purpose. The hook on the nylon strap is useful for working on car engines. Instead of messaging me what I'm failing to understand, why don't you make a video how to use the straps and hooks, then share the link here.

If you hook the strap to the top ring and the 2x4 hook it sits quite nicely across your chest area

I haven't used the de-walt. I'd buy the one that matches what batteries you use already.
0:55 you have 4 different modes, if you hold down the mode button it will turn on the strobe effect.

Flexi cable ties are a good idea. Yea, I have no idea what they where thinking when they designed that hook. Good light output otherwise.
