    Thank you, mate! Nowhere else could I find pictures to show which side of the nut goes down. You gave a lovely presentation and now it is possible to proceed. Everything comes in flat pack these days, and someone needs to wake up the instruction manual and translation people. A night out in a cold potting shed with their own instructions for something they have never put together should sort them out. Don't let them know which tools they need if they've left that out of their instructions, and don't let them back into the house until they've put it together.

    Excellent review Jay and spot on. I just purchased the same model @ Lowes for $189, April '23, and I love it! I really like the slots in the sides that allow you to double the volume compacity of the wagon by inserting cut 1x3 firing strips and adding plywood or boards. I love the dump mechanism and how well it works; also like the feature that allows the handle to easily come off so it can be towed by my tractor. The wagon rolls very smoothly and the wheels are sturdy and well sized for the wagon. I do wish the wagon had a hand brake as my 8 acres is very hilly and this wagon will and does roll away very easily. The directions and the way the hardware is bundled individually for each step of assembly is superb! All in all a well built, well designed, great product!

    I have owned a Gorilla Cart for 5-6 years. I have used it around the house for standard homeowner tasks (never abused). It has not held up very well at all. The poly bed cracked where the handle meets it, the tires are all dry rotted and the poly bed has two 6" to 9" diameter holes in it.

      Your experience does not surprise me at all. Plastic and sunlight do not mix well. Your brief review is worth much more to me than Dirt Farmer Jay's review of how to build it. Plus I hate having 4 tires to go flat. There are other wheel options much better suited to the garden.

    • @DirtFarmerJay

      Retired & Happy, A Ryan, and dchall8, all thanks for weighing in. We've had this cart for several seasons now, and it's still going strong. It is put away in a shady spot when not in use and put in our tractor barn over winter. The tires are still great, and I've not had the bed crack even with heavy use from time to time. It carries a variety of loads, including high volume, low weight items like raked leaves, loose straw, and so forth, as well as a load of bricks, dirt, gravel, sand, and so forth. Even though your insights are about a year ago, from time to time I go back and read all the replies from comments to see what experience viewers are having. Unfortunately, looking back has to be done manually - we need to search for them, as RUclips doesn't display replies. Sorry for the delayed response, and thank you for taking time to watch our video and jot down your thoughts. Best, DFJ

      Thought you had a got a cart that was either defective or you severely abused it. I have zero cracking no holes at all the bed whatsoever. Couple of tires having or showing signs and brought on the side but that's understood being out in the sunlight all the time. I plan on getting replacement tires anyway no big deal

  • @LastCall117
    @LastCall117 4 года назад +5

    Recently purchased one (after watching your informative vid). Quick feedback after spreading 12 yds (aka 324 cubic feet) of mulch with it.
    PROS:
    1. Easy to assemble and excellent packaging and directions.
    2. Overall super easy to use (much friendlier on my back than my wheel borrow).
    3. Articulating front wheels (turn with handle) make for rapid positioning of load to dump.
    4. Wheel height and bed are high enough to go over and around low ground cover.
    5. Quick dump with the rear axle pivoting under the dump to (acts like a dump assist).
    CONS
    1. If pulling with tractor it is very difficult to backup. If they included a couple clamps to lock out the front axle it wouldn't be an issue. Without a way to lock the front axle from pivoting/articulating front wheels become a major bear for backing your load up.
    2. Minor thou if a bit taller than the load would completely dump without having to scoop the residual out since the tail of the cart hits the ground when you dump it.
    3. Minor comment as I pulled the cart with my lawn tractor the locking pin kept popping out on me (user error?)
    Overall, wonderful add to our yard equipment. Thanks for the informative review.
    Cheers

      The GOR4G-COM cart I have was from production lot in February 2018 which still had the yellow chromate metal release lever and painted grey handle. They also have a green and black poly tub option as well I think the black poly tub will withstand UV better than the green one which fades and degrades in less than 2 years. My cart is a yard queen that has done no work and I can tell you it does not even withstand the elements that well to even look pretty. These carts are great for immediate project uses and then they are scrapped a year or two down the road.

I wish that you would have demonstrated the cart with loads of dirt, rocks, and mulch. It would be nice to see if the pivot dump function is actually easy on this cart with 400 pounds of river rock. You are correct - that should have been part of the presentation. For what it's worth, we've worked this cart pretty heavily and it's served us well with bricks, gravel, sand, manure, compost and medium sized rocks. I would say that it pays to keep it in storage and not sitting out in the sun (plastic and sun aren't friends), and make sure to keep it lubed. I am living in Florida, we I'm very strong tropical storms no the last 6 months have had three of my 17 trees become very dangerous. the first one is the help of a trusted young man, finished cutting and removing with my wheelbarrow.. and then the second one fell I saw it come down to A Tropical Storm comes out of nowhere-Watching from the safety of what used to be my daughters and granddaughters back bedroom, I watched in her as a tree literally fell from the actually it was from the outside of my foot coming almost up to the window sill.. from the outside and Ally of my privacy fence to almost the back bedroom window.🤯🤦🤦 I had seen you dirt farmer Jay I was inspired by your purchase and video. I bought and assembled one I had bought from Lowe's for $117. very easily using my tools. I'm kind of a handy old girl, I'm 61..I'd like to say I have an empty nest..LOL, our small home of two bedrooms one bath raised one son and four daughters six grandchildren and one three grandson and now it's really not so empty because everyone is left things and treasures with like two share and give to charity or throw away or donate. I used to wagon a couple of times and someone or someone's saw it and could not resist removing me up my newest tool 🤦🤦🤯😭 I had to wait to purchase my second one which was about 2 months ago and I'm waiting for my confirmation email patiently and after a couple of hours try calling the company to find a very strange message on the website I went to customer service on their website and found that this is an online store.. researching I was sent to the FBI site which I fill out all of forms calling my bank etc so now I purchased two of these wonderful products.🤦💔 I'm very sad and surrounded by a package just wider nothing in my own to use this wagon. I can't afford to buy another one till probably next year.. I can't lift my wheelbarrow because it bingies I hurt and this would have been the perfect help to leave me in my kitten this hoard-plus the felled trees in my backyard 🤦🤔🙏
    I've made police reports, posted on Facebook Instagram and messenger.. and hope my grandma generator still box still iPads etc.. I've never been this age, and I've never been robbed. have installed security systems.. We have lived here for 37yr.s years.. but it's not a *we* here-anymore. it's just a *me* 🤸 with my rescue kitten-- KiKiMaoMao😿

    What do you mean by putting slime in the tires? What brand of “slime” and do you mean put the slime on the inside of the tire or the outside?
    Any help is appreciated.

    • @DirtFarmerJay
      @DirtFarmerJay 4 года назад +2

      Drew, thanks for watching. Slime is the common name for a liquid viscous product that is pumped into tubeless tires. In fact, the most popular product of this type is Slime® brand name and the product is called "Tire Sealant." If the tire is punctured or develops a small leak, then the "slime" flows into the leak and fills it, either completely or to a point that the tire will "hold" air for a long time. The product is widely available at places like Target and Walmart, and auto parts stores. I hope that helps! Best, DFJ

    • @DirtFarmerJay

      As you know the beach is a brutal environment for these types of things. Sand gets into everything. DFJ says that if you grease the axle lightly and also apply grease to the face of the bearing cover before inserting the cotter pin, that will help keep sand out of the little spaces and make your cart last a long time. Hope this helps.

    How much lift force is required to pull up & dump a load of dirt or poop? You are lifting an empty cart. Looks like would need to use a rake to fully empty it out.

    • @DirtFarmerJay
      @DirtFarmerJay 2 месяца назад

      The way the carriage is set up is that the back tires move forward and tuck under the tub when you lift the handle. There is very little debris left in the tub after dumping. The tuck action also gives good leverage in assisting to lessen the load when lifting the front edge of the tub. We've used the unit for a variety of loads, including an unintentional load of water after a good overnight rain. Still manageable. I hope this helps - thanks for writing! Best, DFJ

I guess hauling rock, dirt, bricks, loads of soil, compost, plants and trees ready to be planted, or all the material going into the compost bins don't count as real work. Really? Your point on the highly sloped yards is well taken. Lich King, we haven't had that problem, but we did a few things that I think help maintain the tires. When we first got the cart, we removed the valve stems in the tires, and placed "Slime" brand tire sealant in the tires, and then replaced the valve stems and inflated the tires to the right pressure. Second, we don't store the cart outside for long times, so as to slow down UV degradation on the tires from the sun. Third, if a tire does start to lose pressure slightly, we reinflate to assure that the bead of the tire stays affixed to the rim. Perhaps these measures would help in your situation.
