It goes beyond weight gain. I've always had trouble gaining weight and have always eaten intuitively. I had no idea how little I was eating until I started keeping track.
@@chaimaeasri1216This is so true for me as well. I'd think I was eating plenty, I absolutely wasn't. Tracking my intake showed me how much I was lacking.
Finally someone calling out the difficulty of intuitive eating 👏👏👏 I've been binge> restricting for over 20 years intuitive eating isn't intuitive to me at all!!!
It really is that common self-deception we all do with various things all day: telling us a slightly different story because we would actually love to be *that* effortless cool girl. 😅 But nah. You learn what 100gr of weight feels like in your hand, what it looks like in different foods and what calories it carries. Counting stuff becomes a sub-concious automatism then. But sure enough, if you run even just 5k, you'll want to eat your body-weight in carbs and it will be triple the energy you just burned. 😅 Since stepping on the other side of 35, I barely run anymore and do more weights until failure. Never looked more toned. (Plus the restrictive eating, of course. 😉)
Can somewhat relate because I was bulimic for years and years and it really took a lot of effort to let go of the restrictive eating. But it really is the first step on the journey to eating intuitively if that's what you want to do. So my process at the beginning looked a lot like: very clear times for breakfast, lunch, dinner (no longer than 5 hours apart) all foods allowed, always mindful check in on how I was feeling right before a meal and then just trial and error and observing if I would feel full and how the sensation felt in my body etc. Hope this helps and I wish you the best for your journey!
Intuitive eating is a skill. Like any other skill we have to practice. We were born intuitive, then we were brainwashed with restriction. Buy a good mindfull eating book and get in touch with your body's needs. It works...it really does.
Another big thing with intuitive eating is that the people who really push it and say that it is easy have most likely spent YEARS tracking calories/macros. That knowledge and insight is what makes it "easy" because you have a foundation already built and are better at portioning your food in accordance with your goals.
Hmm I don't know, I feel like in places with good healthy school lunches kids just learn what portions should look like from school at an early age. I've never counted calories and I didn't do extensive research into macros either because I had so many examples of what a proper meal should look like at school and at home. But if what you get for lunch is that luncheon monstrosity the US is doing then I understand that you have to do some extra work to figure out what a balanced meal is.
They basically got to intuitive eating because they trained themselves to eat that way. It’s like if you don’t skip breakfast for weeks at a time you will definitely start being hungry in the morning and always want that meal.
I whole heartedly agree. I am one of those. Ive tracked my food since 2009, weighed my food since 2010. It’s really second nature for me. I can slice an avocado, portion my meat, etc & weigh it & it is exactly the weight that I needed for that meal.
@@pomberry3591 Sigh, the lunch and snack foods in US school systems is atrotious. I'm scared for all the kids who are growing up on chicken nuggies and high fructose corn syrup pumped drinks. Of course they don't like veggies since they were never introduced delicious ways to eat them. How are they going to learn healthy eating habits? Maybe there needs to be kids foodie influencers!

Genetics and age make a huge difference. A double copy of just one of the obesity related genes makes for 100% more likely to be obese. With odds like that working against someone, it really makes a difference. And someone in their 20s is going to see better results and changes than someone in their 40s-50s. Some people eat whatever and stay slim and then look down on people who are 😊fat but eat less and more healthy than they do. Make it make sense.
This. People always comment on my calves, legs, and skin and I tell them... It's genetics. I'm not going to give you false hope bc if you met me family you'd see it. I don't have to try at all for some of these things
The height thing is SO real, I'm 5'11 and it took me like three years of following fitness influencers before realizing I needed to seek out other tall women to follow for "aesthetic goals"... because at the end of the day, no matter how hard I work I won't ever look the same proportionally as someone who is 6+ inches shorter than I am!!
@@sizzlekitten4441 Who are your fav tall follows? I love Danyele Wilson and goldengirlgains (I think her name is Gigi) personally!! I think they're like 6'1 and 5'10 or so
Finallyyyy someone who is actually tall with this problem? What influencers do y’all watch? I haven’t found any tall women. Some who say they are tall mention they are 5’8 and im like well crap. Yes 5’8 is tall but im 6’0 so I feel like im in a different tall category.
@@shawnamoore653 I hear you on the 5'8" not really being tall in terms of proportion. Tall influencers are hard to find - and many tall fit women do the 'she-hulk' schtick. I look every 6 months or so. Volleyball players, high jumpers are usually tall and some have a balanced physique. Haven't found one with a YT channel though. Hope someone chimes in. Alicia Marie won bikini and figure comps years ago and is 5'10": Some of the gladiators were pretty tall and wrestlers. You have to look outside of mainstream.
LOVED the honesty about intuitive eating. It gets really frustrating to be told "it's so easy!" .... but it's not! Even when you get the hang of it, your body/life changes (ie marriage, kids, job changes, etc) and you have to start ALL OVER
Hi! Weighing in on Intuitive Eating!!! Intuitive Eating isn’t just eating whatever you want.. it’s a set of principles based on the book by Evelyn Tribole & Elyse Resch. These principles should all be followed if you are truly practicing Intuitive Eating. These principles are best practiced alongside a nutrition therapist or registered dietitian. Intuitive Eating that influencers “practice” and THIS Intuitive Eating I’m referencing are worlds different. I couldn’t recommend this practice more to anyone struggling with their relationship with food.
I commented under Abby Sharp's video that intuitive eating is what most of us do, and here we are with obesity epidemics. And when people try to lose weight intentionally, the diet industry leads us down toxic paths.
🎉 amen Low palability is literally the only way "intuition" works for me. And it's actually a huge mental game to deal with tasty food. It's a whole cesspool of " I don't deserve that" or "I deserve that" or "that's spooky" or " quick eat before anyone sees you". And dude sometimes I don't have the mental resources to deal
In a society of over worked people, it is so difficult to find time to cook healthy and satisfying meals. And we resort to fast foods, convenient frozen meals. Then we gain weight, and go down the yo yo dieting route.... It's sadly a vicious cycle.
Yeah, I've been really glad that in recent years she's taken a step away from the hardcore intuitive eating content. She has some actual videos on weight loss now. But yeah she used to be too much.
yeah bottom line is eat intuitively is difficult when you’re constantly being advertised hyper palatable food or too poor to afford nutritionally valuable food🤷🏻♀️
As an RD, I see MANY advertising intuitive eating like it's the only way or you should feed bad. While it's a goal for many, it's not EASY by any means and some just do better with tracking, or meal plans, etc. Even as a RD, I don't find it easy. So I appreciate this so much and fully agree on your feedback ❤
And you are eductated in the field so you know the quality of the foods you are ingesting. Many people will try something like this eating protocol (or any other diet) without a solid knowledge base. Often, people just don't understand nutrition well enough to make an sound decision on the efficacy or value of an eating plan. I'm not an RD but I study sports nutrition for general interest and my own needs (I'm an endurance athlete) and I find the diet, fitness and influencer industry to be so frustrating to hear about. You must find it to be an unhill battle.
I just reread the intuitive eating bible book (4th edition) and while I love a lot of it, I also had a lot of the same gripes with it as an individual as I did when I first read it 10 years ago. For me, as an individual, I had the best results and felt the most satisfied with myself when I was using an eating plan. When I tried to go out in the wild as an intuitive eater and super rushed mom and boss, I just hit failure after failure. An eating plan gave me the framework, just like a suggested workout split. It made my path clear for me, and allowed me a place to work from when I felt like I wanted to deviate and those deviations did not have to spiral into stressed out failures ad nauseam. Now if only the RD who touted that book at me like it had mystical powers would just stop listening to herself talk and listen to me, HER CLIENT.... Anyway, sorry to make it about me but I loved hearing an RD echo what I was feeling in my own heart. Thank you for what you do and please keep doing your work. We need you!!
I've been a chronic under eater most of my life. If I don't do some level of tracking, I won't eat enough and then wonder why I feel cranky and exhausted
the intuitive eating bit was SPOT ON. intuitive eating doesn't work if you've been a chronic yo-yo dieter for years and messed up your hunger and satiety hormones or if you naturally just have a bigger appetite. just because you may want to eat an entire bag of doritos does not mean you should!
It can work but it's a lots of work and deprogramming and the risk to take weight at first but to trust the process. Personnaly when I start to stop with the bad food/good , all or nothing, and restrictive mentality it was a game changer but of course it took some time and I got lucky I just plateau but I learn so much about my hunger and I'm no longer stress and feel guilty about food wich is insane when I think of my past self. I'm so proud of me 😭
I was healthier before RUclips. Never thought about macros, calories or workouts, just ate fairly clean and stayed active. Best shape of my life (and I was happy.) The internet can suck the joy right out of living if you stress about being like the influencers. This was a great video!
I really appreciate how candid you are with all of this. The short girl genetics thing really gave me hope. I’m 4’11” and I always thought “you’ll never have that long and lean look”. This video helped me re-frame that to “yeah, but it might be easier to make your muscles pop!” I never get too down on it, I just accepted that’s the way I am, but this might be something I could work towards. Thank you!
@@ErinFromSydneyyeah I think I'd much rather be referred to as "sexy" 🤣 something I've never been called. I've been called "cute" and "beautiful" but sexy...That's reserved for taller women I guess 🤣
@@GrowingThroughItAll no, they just scare all the guys away. Nobody wants a tall girl. Your'e great the way you are... and me too. Even I found a husband...almost tall as me.
go for it!!! I'm tall and skinny and i never had a butt... not with balley, not with a professional bascetball workout, not with yoga and not with calisthenics. We all come out the best, if we use our own potentials....also mentally.
you're so real for this, esp re: intuitive eating. I was also shook when I learned how common roid use is in female fitness influencers because it doesn't take much for a lady's body to really get beefed up. So I try to remember that when I see lady influencers with perfectly cut arms/shoulders especially. Not EVERYONE uses them, but it is pretty common and not talked about enough. also I SPRINTED to that coco & eve self tanner, tysm
I think the point with intuitive eating is to eat the Doritos if you want them but just portion it out and enjoy the taste while also having awareness of how it makes you feel. Intuitive eating has helped me get out of the restrict and then binge mindset because I can eat whatever I want but I'm more in tune with how it makes me feel
Popped up in my feed and I genuinely loved this video. I actually don’t find fitness influencers particularly motivating, because they look SO much better than I do, even though I do hit the gym regularly. Thank you for pulling back the curtain a bit. I think I would totally follow an influencer who actually does normal workouts, looking just their average self…but I am likely to be fairly lonely in my viewing, which wouldn’t help the influencer much.
4:42 people also don’t realize that your bodies cues can actually be broken from years of over eating and eating addictive foods! It takes time to fix those cues and a lot of effort!
Just wanted to say I enjoy your videos so much! It's so interesting not to just follow a fitness RUclipsr, but a RUclipsr who is always investigating the fitness space!
Yes, I eat "intuitively" but also have to deal with my inner toddler. She wants many large bowls of ice cream in front of the TV. She gets a bowl of yogurt sweetened with berries and a bit of honey. It's taken years to go from restriction to eat all the things to calmly eat all the things without restriction, but practicing choices that align with my goals. I can eat a cookie without fear. I can eat three cookies without punishing myself. But the binge days are over. I can eat all things, but not all the time or as much as the toddler would like. Years. This took years. I'm 55. Took years.
the only thing i disagree with is the fact they’re uncomfortable. i have ones with normal wedge, nothing extreme, and they’re very comfy. but my 🍑 looks fine in normal and wedged leggings equally. i guess i didn’t get too tight ones which would squeeze it all 🤷♀️
@@rinvfxI buy scrunch butts because I found the first pair I wore so comfy! I think because I'm normally a g string wearer with a hungry butt (it sucks in my clothes) it's much more manageable than the inevitable unintentional wedgie 😂
Videos like these are soooo helpful. Also yes about intuitive eating. Honestly that needs a whole video unto itself. I've spent YEARS differentiating the types of hunger (boredom, tired, horny, actually hungry, hormonal cycles, etc.). I don't think people realize how many different ways the body can signal hunger when it doesn't need food. Sometimes it needs food and doesn't signal. Just on and on. It takes so much time to figure out how your specific body works.
Something about the eating intuitively many people miss is that it is data collecting that leads to intuition. You should try to eat what you want (even 3 bags of chips) and take data on how that actually feels. Eventually you’ll be able to find how much doesn’t make you feel bad. And figure why you crave 3 bags of chips and adjust to a healthier havit
One thing that I need to say regarding the short girlies comment. Idk if its easier for the shorties. Overall its easier to be skinny when you are tall (more maintenance cals, body fat is spread out) and then with less fat on your body your your muscles will show more. Short ppl might have smaller lengths of muscle so they can make them ‘bulkier’ but overall shorter ppl carry more fat/its reallllllly hard to be really skinny bc of how low your cals would have to be when your 5ft and in a significant calorie deficit
Agree, sorry I should’ve gone even more into it to explain that but your point is kinda what I was getting at the perks of being tall vs short. Pro’s & con’s to each unique & beautiful body type 🩵
this is SO good to know, especially about height and building back and the morning skinny! this makes me feel so much better about starting to work out and its super healthy to understand all of it
Keltie, a huge thank you for bringing up that "little" tricks. I am a teen (almost 16, want to get leaner by the July. I have been going to the gym for a year and so thrilled. omg I'm only starting all of that, why am I wanting to be shredded and post workouts? All of those people have years and decades of experience. So I'm only starting this life-long journey with body. Love your videos ❤
You are so real! You’re fearless when it comes to ‘opening that gate’ and even though I ‘know’ what I see isn’t real I still fall into ‘why don’t I be look like…! Well, I’ll be turning 70 in a few days and I now have MS! Comparing myself to how I looked in the late 90’s destroys me so I stop for a short period of time😵💫. U R GR8 x 10!!
natacha and abby are great channels to follow. thanks for calling out intuitive eating...I was "intuitively" eating 700 calories for breakfast at one point, now with a registered dietician (NOT a nutrition coach or anything like that) and my doctor, learning how to listen to my natural hunger cues which were always there. Not losing weight yet but Dexa scan shows losing fat and gaining muscle and its the most satisfying progress I have made in years.
You amaze me every week! You're so authentic and funny. You're not afraid to show your imperfections and own it! You are a beautiful person inside and out ❤ I loved the part where you talk about intuitive eating. I am currently working on that. Enjoy your weekend and keep kicking ass!!
YES. Food education is how I finally got abs. When you learn about what food does to your endocrine system, mitochondria, and liver… a lot of that junk food starts to look nasty. Robert Lusting has a great channel for food education
This was awesome, brutal honesty is awesome. We as humans have lost touch with what is is to just be us...fake hair, fake tans, surgery, filters for pictures it's crazy...somehow we have to return to reality.
❤❤❤ God bless you for putting sooooo many truth bombs out there AND FOR DOING IT IN A KIND AND RESPECTFUL WAY!!!!!!!! The world needs more hearts like yours. Thank you!!!!!
The way you described initiative eating is spot on! I feel the same way for intermittent fasting ..” just push through the first pang of hunger!” Like no! I want lunch at 12 not 2! So happy I found your videos!
Thank you for sharing this. I stepped away from social media for a while because I was never seeing results, doing challenges and random videos. I wasn't able to be consistent so I gave up frequently. I started doing calisthenics for strength and mobility and it's exactly like you've said. It's the same exercise, 3-4x a week, with progression. I'm so much happier and finally able to create a habit! Social media is not reality! 😊
You're honesty has the perfect balance of fact, information and comedy and I just love it! It makes you so entertaining to watch which makes it fun to watch and easy to listen 💜💜💜
Thank you for speaking on intuitive eating!! I have to count calories right now and it's been so helpful and educational for me! BUT nearly every influencer I follow only says how it will give me an ED and its not reliable.
This is one of the only videos I’ve seen that says it’s okay to not understand how to intuitively eat and to have to track macros/calories/etc. I’ve felt so guilty because I’m not there yet, and the media portrays we should just know how to intuitively eat to reach our fitness and body goals. How comforting this was hearing that it’s just fine needing to take time learning how to properly fuel my body and track. Thank you!!
2:40 I've been using a couple of calorie tracker for more than a month and I now have a better grasp of what to eat and how much my body needs to stay healthy... that's probably one way to train on intuitive eating
Love this!! I’m surprised at the amount of people who don’t know this info, but then again I’ve been interested in fitness for nearly 20 years now (omg) so I have done a lot of reading - last year I watched a lot of bikini competitors on RUclips and I find it so fascinating how they prepare for a competition! And of course fitness models in magazines have been using these tactics for years… I think maybe people don’t realize that these days, even though RUclips started off as regular joes sharing their lives, today a popular RUclipsr in the fitness community basically IS a fitness model, and will use the same tactics to look their best. Like you said, I don’t think there is anything wrong with something like water and carb manipulation since it is still your natural body, but it’s good for people to know that it is something done to get one’s self looking 💯
Keltie! I never noticed influencers doing the fake tan/ abs trick. But after watching this video… I have NOTICED it! I cannot believe people actually do that. It looks good, but here I was thinking they were real.
Thank you for the intuitive eating comment!!! I'm so sick of predatory nutritionists pushing their platforms with it. There also seems to be a lot of 'I fixed my relationship with food' people who were struggling with anorexia for years and can now eat cake. And then they pretend their life experience is going to help someone who is trying to lose weight from 300+ lbs who is struggling with severe fast food addiction? Like no! I hate it so much.
Yes the intuitive eating part! Another thing I feel like most fitness influencers gloss over is that a lot of them started their journey as part of ED recovery and mostly from food restriction so beggining with extremely low body fat and beginning to work out, building muscle whilst eating more but already knowing how many calories are in everything and how to lose weight if they feel they are "gaining too fast" is a hugley different experience than trying to lose weight because of health complications, post partum, slow metabolism or change in lifestyle e.g. becoming sedentary at work. I know there are some people who have lost weight from being "overweight" then gained muscle but majority were extremely thin when they started
I’m so glad you posted this. I figured most of this out as I’ve gotten older , but the young ones that don’t know, if they watch your video they will know then also.
i really appreciate what you said about intuitive eating and how its a skill- because sometimes when we listen to our body- our mind and our body is telling us different things and we we go throughout the day our mind changes. So it is not always going to be perfect all the time and I just have to keep reminding myself that with the versatility of food, fitness and people, it means theres never gonna be that one "perfect" way of eating and training. As a fitness babe I love your content Keltie xx
Intuitive eating can be very unintuitive to people that already have bad established eating habits. I’ve been intuitively eating my entire life without knowing it even had a name. I eat when I’m hungry, what I’m feeling, and I take my time. So I don’t over eat. Just that type of control is infeasible to a lot of people. I’ve literally had my entire lifetimes practice of doing it.
omg THANK you for talking about intuitive eating!! it blew my mind because i recently learned that people who don't have adhd have non-extreme hunger signals that help them intuitively eat. like they just get hungry gradually? and are aware of that happening? people with adhd (and other nd flavor folx) don't receive as many signals from their bodies, so adhders usually only know they're hungry because their stomach is literally cramping or their blood sugar is so low they're getting headaches and shakes. that leads to a panic mode where they overeat (and sometimes even without that panic mode their inability to focus makes them overeat since they get lost in a thought and essentially black out). this goes for most bodily functions, like sleep or peeing, etc. intuitive eating always seemed like such a lie to me but now i know it was possible because some bodies literally operate differently lol. all this time people were like "just listen to your body's signals" but there are no signals for adhders other than an emergency alarm hahaha
I could not point exactly what is it, but it's really nice listening to you. You make so many good points. no doubt that if you had a podcast it would be sooooo nice to listen to. ☺
Thank you for your honesty, most of the things I didn't knew and growing up with those expectations were really toxic. Seeing young girls doing the same is just sad. They blindy believe in what they are seeing and they don't even questionate.
I'm constantly having to remind myself that a lot of the influencers I see online or get shown on ads through workout brands I buy workout as part of their daily job. That is their career. Because I can be hard on myself when I don't get in my workout like I wanted after my day job and errands and life. I see these people online and it's so easy to forget that they get in their workouts because it's their work! And bonus to the ones that admit when they get work done as well. Love the transparency to be able to see that.
The leggings wedgie, thank you for calling that out!! And yes, boring workouts. That’s what everyone does. That’s how you can accurately track your progress. Creators make variations and show completely different workouts simply for content.
This video is awesome. Thank you for talking of intuitive eating. I tried it. And gained sooo much weight. The best that works for me is having coaches.
I fully love the concept of intuitive eating!!! But it is HARD. I went through years of disordered eating. And intuitive eating to me now, is just doing my best to eat what I know is going to be good for me, what should fill my calorie needs, and what I WANT too!
My god, girlie, I know what you mean by being short and having an easier time building muscle, but you have no idea, I'd love to look like you! A lot of girls that are my type would probably love that. It's always what we don't have that we crave. 😊. Also, just found your channel, love your humour and energy, you're an instant subscribe!! 🌸❤️
I agree with you on the intuitive eating point - even on the opposite end. I had anorexia nervosa and was bombarded with "intuitive eating" content. I did not even have an appetite, so I could NOT rely on that lol.
The trend these days like "This is Art" and "This is Bull****" is very antagonizing to me. Someone who is just starting of the fitness journey shows all the basic drills are useless and I need to fancy up my workout. Thank you for the video.
So true about eating part but those fitness influencers you mentioned are also misleading. They state no restrictions and eat what make you feel happy but like you said if you have knowledge you know what they eat a day is very restricted in calories and ingredients 🙂
I recently found you and I’m loving all of your content! I’ve been an athlete/working out for most of my life and you’ve given me inspiration to make it fun again.
Fantastic content, Keltie. I’m not at all mad that influencers do this stuff. I’m all for aspirational content quite frankly. If I am brutally honest, when it comes to fitness especially, I don’t want the influencer to look like your average person walking the streets. I want them to look fantastic because it inspires me to get my arse in gear. I feel the same way about fashion and interiors. I want that aspirational bliss. But I also want and need a healthy dollop of reality and people who live lives I recognize lol. It’s when influencers aren’t honest and open about all this stuff that I think it becomes too close to lying and that bothers me and it’s clearly proven to have disastrous consequences on far too many young people especially. I’m a fully grown adult who was raised before the internet and social media. Part of my brain will always be cordoned off from the illusions. But young people who have grown up inundated with fake everything hammering their fragile developing psyches …. Ya, there needs to be WAY more transparency. Even if influencers posted something once a month or so without all the trickery to show what reality looks like to balance out the aspirational prettiness …. That might be enough to dispel the myth. I dunno …. Anyhow. Thank you for making this and for all the times you have done likewise. It’s needed and it’s healthy. ❤
Totally get the point of intuitive eating! You need to really focus and concentrate on eathing a healthy& balanced diet first before you can jump into intuitive eating. I really focused on protein intake, greens etc. For a while and now I am able to listen to my body cues as they are mostly craving healthy food now and less sweets etc.
It's funny hearing about intuitive eating, and reading other people's comments here, because I always understood macros, so I assumed I was eating well and "intuitively" for many years. I started counting macros last November and I've had a TON of changes in my body, the intensity of my workouts, and that I was most certainly not eating enough protein and calories in general.
This is such a great video! I started to learn the lesson that fitness influences aren't perfect when I watched a Q and A video of a smaller influencer and she said her "diet" was eating one meal a day 🥲. After I heard that I was like, yeahhhh maybe some people's progress is too good to be backed by healthy methods.
I am so glad you said someting about height!!! I noticed a while back most of them are pocket sized and look thicker just because their muscles arent as long as someone like me who is 6'0.
I used to over eat so much. I ended almost every meal nauseous and trying to keep it down. After years of trying to lose weight restricting and binging, antidepressants gave me the ability to eat intuitively 😁
Telling people to eat intuitively is like asking an alcoholic to drink responsibility. Glad you're calling it out.
All about what works best for each person 🩵
It goes beyond weight gain. I've always had trouble gaining weight and have always eaten intuitively. I had no idea how little I was eating until I started keeping track.

@@chaimaeasri1216This is so true for me as well. I'd think I was eating plenty, I absolutely wasn't. Tracking my intake showed me how much I was lacking.

So sweet of youuuu ❤😊
SO GLAD you mentioned genetics, too many people get caught up in trying to pursue something unattainable for their body type
Hey you are an aesthetics goal! Many of us aspire to have modelesque long legs like you ;) own it!
This! I‘m 6‘2, and following someone a foot shorter than me is not realistic.
Even when you get the hang of it, your body/life changes (ie marriage, kids, job changes, etc) and you have to start ALL OVER
A conversation that need to be talked about! “Just listen to your body” is the goal, but easier said than done
this!!!!!
I couldn't agree more. Your body and life are always changing. We just have to do our best ❤
The level of constant introspection this kind of "listening to your body" takes, should really count as a full time job. 😅
🎉 amen
Low palability is literally the only way "intuition" works for me.
Ugggg I come out in hives when I hear Abby’s voice
yeah bottom line is eat intuitively is difficult when you’re constantly being advertised hyper palatable food or too poor to afford nutritionally valuable food🤷🏻♀️
Thank you!
You also get to be 'cute'. I haven't been cute since I was 13 and grew to 5'10".
@@maggies88 very true, although I was never a fan of being referred to as “cute” when I was younger. I’m less “cute” now that I’m middle aged, lol
As someone who used to tan (shoutout to the early 2000s! I regret yooooou), same 😂
“My body craves DORITOOOOOS” same tho
“Listen to your body”
My body: 🍬🍫🍿🍦🍪
I think the point with intuitive eating is to eat the Doritos if you want them but just portion it out and enjoy the taste while also having awareness of how it makes you feel. Intuitive eating has helped me get out of the restrict and then binge mindset because I can eat whatever I want but I'm more in tune with how it makes me feel
mine craves loaded potatoes and mango... when I say I can down 2lbs of mango its a problem
Because they’re designed to be incredibly rewarding! Dopamine hits strong with Doritos with zero satiety.
Totally agree, if we lifted each other up...even half as much as we tear each other down, imagine how much more empowered we would all be!!! ❤
So happy you enjoy them Olivia 🩵
This is the first channel that I actually pay attention to when a new video is posted. I look forward to your videos every Saturday morning.
Thank you Caroline! Consider me your modern day Saturday morning cartoons hehe ☺️
I'm 55. Took years.
I am SHAKEN by the wedgie revelation! Now I know why my butt doesn’t look like an influencer’s butt, thank you Keltie !
Not only the butt scrunch but the contouring lines on the leggings and they lift. It's crazy!
the only thing i disagree with is the fact they’re uncomfortable. i have ones with normal wedge, nothing extreme, and they’re very comfy. but my 🍑 looks fine in normal and wedged leggings equally. i guess i didn’t get too tight ones which would squeeze it all 🤷♀️
You can buy leggings with an elastic back there that gives you the look instantly.
We've spent decades trying to avoid having a wedgie, and now they design shorts that create one on purpose - pain for vanity. lol
As someone that’s trains many fitness influencers I agree with all your takes, Thank You for this!
I don’t think it’s black and white tbh! You can also look lean when you are short because you appear to be ‚petite‘
this is SO good to know, especially about height and building back and the morning skinny! this makes me feel so much better about starting to work out and its super healthy to understand all of it
100% agree about intuitive eating. My intuition wants me to eat pasta and cheese at every meal.
Same - and all the bread and bagels.
Love your videos ❤

natacha and abby are great channels to follow. thanks for calling out intuitive eating...I was "intuitively" eating 700 calories for breakfast at one point, now with a registered dietician (NOT a nutrition coach or anything like that) and my doctor, learning how to listen to my natural hunger cues which were always there.

Thank you You Tube algorithm. Loved this - funny, compassionate and honest!
love how you keep everything so real in your videos.....we all need to work more on being just being better versions of "us".

So happy you found it refreshing 🩵 there’s truly pro’s & con’s to all heights!
Love your openness and honesty. Thank you for being a human... Not A Robot!! 😂
Filming workouts is a big help. Sometimes you don’t realize in the moment even in a mirror things you could improve.
It looks good, but here I was thinking they were real.
you win the internet because of your honesty lol thanks keltie you rock
I love how positive and real you kept this video! Thank you
I’m so glad you posted this. I figured most of this out as I’ve gotten older , but the young ones that don’t know, if they watch your video they will know then also.
Took me many years to figure out as well. I agree Hope I can help younger learn it faster ☺️
i really appreciate what you said about intuitive eating and how its a skill- because sometimes when we listen to our body- our mind and our body is telling us different things and we we go throughout the day our mind changes. So it is not always going to be perfect all the time and I just have to keep reminding myself that with the versatility of food, fitness and people, it means theres never gonna be that one "perfect" way of eating and training. As a fitness babe I love your content Keltie xx
Lighting is huge! LA Fitness’ marketing has figured this out, for which I am grateful!
You are so genuine! I love itttt. Thank you for sharing!!
omg THANK you for talking about intuitive eating!! it blew my mind because i recently learned that people who don't have adhd have non-extreme hunger signals that help them intuitively eat. like they just get hungry gradually? and are aware of that happening?
people with adhd (and other nd flavor folx) don't receive as many signals from their bodies, so adhders usually only know they're hungry because their stomach is literally cramping or their blood sugar is so low they're getting headaches and shakes. that leads to a panic mode where they overeat (and sometimes even without that panic mode their inability to focus makes them overeat since they get lost in a thought and essentially black out). this goes for most bodily functions, like sleep or peeing, etc. intuitive eating always seemed like such a lie to me but now i know it was possible because some bodies literally operate differently lol. all this time people were like "just listen to your body's signals" but there are no signals for adhders other than an emergency alarm hahaha
Love that you found what works for you!
The wedgie comment wow finally someone said it!!! Plus spot on with the intuitive eating. ❤
I fully love the concept of intuitive eating!!! But it is HARD. I went through years of disordered eating. And intuitive eating to me now, is just doing my best to eat what I know is going to be good for me, what should fill my calorie needs, and what I WANT too!
I love the realness! It just shows we are all really out here just trying our best. Love your content!
My god, girlie, I know what you mean by being short and having an easier time building muscle, but you have no idea, I'd love to look like you! A lot of girls that are my type would probably love that. It's always what we don't have that we crave. 😊.
I feel like having a history of tracking calories helps a lot with “Intuitive eating” so you can tell if you’re approaching your limit
Recording my workouts and yoga practice was a game changer for me.
So true about eating part but those fitness influencers you mentioned are also misleading. They state no restrictions and eat what make you feel happy but like you said if you have knowledge you know what they eat a day is very restricted in calories and ingredients 🙂

You’re welcome laurel!!
Lighting is so real because if there is light coming from the side, it looks like I have great abs. Regular light from the front/ back? Nothing.
Everyone seriously needs to watch this video! Always keeping it real with us Keltie! 🎉❤
Love the well roundedness and transparency of this video ❤
It’s a good day when Keltie posts ❤
It’s a good day when you comment 🩵
This is such a great video! I started to learn the lesson that fitness influences aren't perfect when I watched a Q and A video of a smaller influencer and she said her "diet" was eating one meal a day 🥲. After I heard that I was like, yeahhhh maybe some people's progress is too good to be backed by healthy methods.
Just discovered your content. Glad I did. Hilarious and informative. Great job. Can't wait to see more!
Thank you for the height/muscle explanation! So so so much. I'm 6' and have always wondered why fitness influencers are much shorter than me.
Thanks for being real Keltie ❤
I am so glad you said someting about height!!! I noticed a while back most of them are pocket sized and look thicker just because their muscles arent as long as someone like me who is 6'0.
YOU ARE THE BEST 🥰 and YES to a video on intuitive eating!!
Thank you so much 🩵
The wedgie! Thank you! I laughed so much. I thought the pants were made to go up your butt, so gladI can buy new workout pants!
Good morning! Rough day yesterday, needed this first thing. 😊

I used to over eat so much. I ended almost every meal nauseous and trying to keep it down. After years of trying to lose weight restricting and binging, antidepressants gave me the ability to eat intuitively 😁
