Oh, my JESUS, I thought I had forgiven my husband. I let the past hurts affect how I respond to him. I see now how my responses based on my past hurts kept hurting YOU, JESUS. Help me to continue to heal and love as YOU do.
I spend time in the secret place all the time my husband doesn’t he doesn’t have a close relationship with Jesus and it puts a gulf of separation between us I don’t preach to him or even talk to him much about the Lord because he doesn’t understand. What do you do with that?
I am in the exact same situation. The "gulf of separation" is spiritual vs. natural and is to be expected. My heart is often burdened and weary with a kind of loneliness because of it. And yet, the Father knows! All is perfectly clear to Him. So to trust Him and His timing with the whole thing is to continue to allow the Holy Spirit to do a work in me. It is a discipline as described in Hebrews 12 and it is not joyous in the least but is exceedingly painful; yet if we allow ourselves to be trained by this discipline it will result in the fruit of righteousness in our lives. May we be wives who submit to our husbands as described in 1 Peter 3 (a submission detailed in chapter 2 verses 13-25) and who will win our husbands who do not obey the Word by our own transformed heart and lives, as we live in this closest earthly relationship in gentleness and love; God's love being poured out in us and to us and through us. And may God get all the glory, amen!
