Thanks for this Doris, I agree! I love cruising catamarans, and have taught hundreds of students to sail them. But only after they've learned basic sailing on a monohull. A monohull can offer the kinesthetic learning of the forces on a boat and how it wants to respond that you just can't feel on a cruising catamaran.
