The MV is inspired by art as well as an episode of The Twilight Zone entitled, 5 Strangers in Search of An Exit. It's one of my favorite episodes. It takes place inside of a room, that you quickly discover is a hole. It contains 5 characters; the clown, the ballerina, the hobo, the bagpipe player, and the Army Major. It's interesting because in Lost! the (Army) Major is RM. Here's the plot: The Army Major awakes and is confused as to where he is. To him he's in darkness, but from the viewer's standpoint, we see everything. He feels around the walls and his hand comes in contact with the face of the clown. The Army Major can't remember his name or where he is. The conversation between him and the clown is carried mostly by the clown. He says that even if you don't know who you are, there are endless possibilities to reinvent yourself. You don't have to limit yourself. Then the clown tells the Army Major that they're not allow. This is when we're introduced to the ballerina, the hobo and bagpipe player. They all begin to add their own version to why they are there. The hobo thinks they might be dead and is in some kind of limbo. The ballerina seems more content with her fate. Since the 4 characters have been in the hole the longest, they are okay with being there and have not tried to escape anymore. The Army Major is the main one trying to find a way out. This then motivates the others to want to escape. There is the scene in Lost! where they stack on top of each other and RM climbs up. In this episode of The Twilight Zone they do the same thing. When RM gets to the top he's met with an ending he didn't expect. Him in the middle of the desk face to face with the host. With The Twilight Zone the ending is also bizarre, trippy, something you did not see coming. (I won't spoil it) I highly recommend watching The Twilight Zone episode 5 Strangers in Search of An Exit then rewatching Lost! And just like art, interpret what you think the two stories have going on. 💜
Thanks so much, I really appreciate your theories. Especially that all of the parts of RM work together (form a human pole for him to climb) to get him back to the performance on this show. I also haven't heard anyone mention/notice the trophies on the shelf: these are the shelves of Namjoon's brain, everything that he's experienced is in there somewhere. One part of him is the grinning guy, happy-go-lucky. One part is applying makeup. One part is not drinking a normal amount but pouring the whole jug of water on himself (maybe a metaphor for what worldwide fame felt like). I really didn't get this at all (I was lost lol) until I watched your reaction. Thanks so much!
In a world of bland homogeneous pop. RM makes you stop and think. Its strangely addictive and after a 4th or 5th listen... its a favourite. In a world of fast fashion and fast pop designed more for the fast buck than art. RM is that rare breed. A successful artist with alot to lose who just wants to make music. He trusts that his fans are not stupid and will enjoy complex ideas, interesting sound scapes and music designed to provoke your own imagination not be disposable brain dead junk.
So much is happening in the mv and it’s great! Gives off the feeling of being lost but finding the way and getting lost again, back and forth. Similar to how life goes. RM is such an artistic genius.
Thanks for your interpretation of the “throw it on the ground, pick it up, throw it in the trunk”. I’d been pondering over that one. Edited to add, My theory of these “memes” and references, show how his experiences have stayed with him and shaped him over the years.
OMG first watch, I got "Inside Out" too! And HEAVY influence visually from Balming Tiger. I later found out from the MiniMoni video released that he said he was influenced by them and worked with a guy that works with Balming Tiger for this album.
hey! love your theories and and explanation and definitely gonna rewatch the mv now that you mentioned the detail at the background that i didnt even realize. the mv is so so great! love rm for this😍😍
RM "Lost" giving Blaming Tiger weird visual vibes, Loving It All! 🤔🙄😏😍💜✌️🙏 RM "Indigo" was the Calm before the Storm that is "RPWP" so RM can vent all his pent up feelings! 👏🏽💿🕺🏽🎶🎤🔥💯👍🏽 #RM #Lost #RPWP
Hi Rosan🤗💜 I love this unique genius album. Namjoon is a true artist . I also love that he did it his way and one can feel his freedom and happiness during the creation of this masterpiece 💜
RM never fails to amaze me 🔥this song and this whole album is a masterpiece and l love it all💜💜💜 Y'all should also watch joeeochoatv reaction and explaination, thats my theory too 🤞 Thank you Rosan for this video 💜I love you 🥰
I couldn't help but Wonder. The part where he was in the elevator and all those different people were named RM, was that his way of saying about the stigma when people say that those of Asian background look the same and don't have personality ? the announcers of the show sounds like they were just trying to have him on there for views but be a bit indifferent or something. Their "excitement" was just for show. I hope I'm explaining this clearly. Does anybody understand what I'm trying to bring out?? 😮
Yes!!!! I noticed that too! I also noticed that when RM finishes performing he expects tge announcers to show more emotion to the lyrics of the song ((repeatedly saying he feels lost and maybe not happy)) but instead he gets ignored like what he just performed was nothing.
Hi I know that this is very irrelevant but can anyone possibly tell me if there has been any updates on hyyh storyline since 2021 cause I watched your summary xceleste and it was till there please tell me I am a dumb bish
Now it makes sense when he posted him wearing a blond wig on his IG account he was given us spoilers and we were like wondering why but now we know
Spoiled King
yep yep

Kim Namjoon is back with another song masterpiece!! This is a work of art, is so creative, relatable sad and funny.

I strongly suggest them to produce a movie,it gone be 🔥
For a second I thought the female host was Kate McKinnon 😂 but great song RM. Congratulations 🎊
Inside out is a movie worth to watch, Celeste. I can highly recommend it to you, and I am a person who only watches Korean dramas 😅...
Fyi..Lionel Riche recently did the desk head shot on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon.
The office part reminds of the game The Stanley Parable.
Sangat2 menyentuh setelah menonton minimoni ❤
Someone knows if the webtoon save me will be updated or it’s end up like that????
