You have definitely helped us in our journey to restore our 1891 mansion. We are using hot lime and have learned so much from you. Thanks for all you do.
Glen the help you've given me is most appreciated Iam 100 % confident and very happy with my lime mortar pointing now I've been doing it for nearly 3 years and Iam booked up until next year .. you sir are a top man can't thank you enough really appreciated your help big thank you 🙏
You do God's work good Sir. I have just started doing some lime mortar repointing. I am using a product from Conserv and their mortar comes as a grit into which you mix the lime powder (which itself comes in a separate sealed bag of the exact right quantity for the grit to lime ratio). This simplifies the lime mix process for me. I am using an NHL 3.5 for my front garden wall, and for the front elevation of my house. The Conserv grits come in all sorts of tones and hues to suit your existing backdrop, but I am just using an off-white for contrast against the red brick masonry. I would appreciate some tips (in a video) for getting to a neat finish with lime mortar. It is a lot different and less tidy than the usual weather struck finish I usually achieve with cement pointing, especially as the manufacturer recommends a flush finish anyway. Kind regards.
I repointed my chimney entirely from your videos. Many, many thanks.
Next step is removing pebble dash 😂
