Everytime I hear Sara cover these iconic songs, she manages to inhabit and totally own them. That is something that precious few can do, and she's the best I've ever heard. What an incredible voice, and her songwriting is transcendant. She is a once in a generation talent.

If you know me you know I love music. Music can speak straight to your emotional core. Sometimes the words are important and sometimes its the melodies. I am always in awe when someone with pure talent performs a classic in such a way it punches me right in the heart strings. Today, I heard Sara Bareilles perform Sitting on the dock of the bay. I had to look up the live performance and half way through I realized it wasn't the words or the melodies that got me. Watching her masterfully imbue the music with emotion. Watching her facial expressions. Watching her count the rhythm and perfectly time the notes. I found myself crying, completely overloaded with emotion. Not happiness, not sadness just absolute respect and reverence for this songbird. I have never finished listening to a song and thought that was the most emotionally exhausting singer I have ever had the complete joy of listening too. Dear Sara Bareilles, Thank you.

Hot damn! She's by far one of my favorite artists. This video just made me love her that much more. I can't believe I haven't seen her live but now I know I have to. She seems super cool and that looks like it was an awesome concert to attend! She's so naturally gifted.
