Thank you for not being one of those girls whose obviously incredibly full of themselves and therefore needs to post a youtube video about their hair. Super refreshing and made the video incredibly enjoyable not to mention really informative.

Joanna, I have to tell you, You ROCK!!!! This is such a nice and easy video.... I NAILED IT! I have pretty thick hair too and I started to curl them in the sections (just like you have shown) and after all the hair was done, about 15 minutes later I thought that the waves were starting to fall out hence used some hair spray (I had not used it right after curling my hair as I am not a big fan of hair spray) but after that, the curls stayed for the whole day and a little bit next day too...
For the ladies whose curls are falling out or not curling right, make sure you are taking thinner stripes of hair or your flat iron heat is set just a tad bit higher than normal (when you straighten your hair). I had read about this trick on Pinterest. Good luck!

Oh yea is it? Try to do a simple fuckin ponytail, it is so heavy it pulls all volume out and when it's short the tail looks like a brush attached to the head.
Damn I hate that.

NYAN CAT ohh I have! My hair isn't that far away from that hair type BUT it's perfectly fine compared to my little sister's hair (she's half african half german) and since my white mom has no idea how to handle that hair I'm tryin my best with some help of RUclips videos. Damn that's so hard sometimes, the breakage and stiffness make me go crazy!

now it does curl!!! u need to put the straightener at a maximum temperature and also have your hair straight before u curl it

So I recently had a 3am impulse and cut all of my hair off, and I tried to curl it like this this morning and it all just fell out. I have thick wavy hair so I would think it would hold. Is it because I washed my hair in the morning and used conditoner?
Possibly. Sometimes when the hair is too soft it doesn't hold. Try it on the 2nd or even 3rd day. And lol at your 3am impulse, I very much identify with that

Alyssa Shalyn You could always try on second the third day hair like suggested and when you curl it slightly backcomb the curls and spray mists of hair spray! Hope this helps!😊

I always try to curl my hair with my straightener. But it never works for me. It straightens my hair instead of curling it. It's so frustrating. You on the other hand make it look so easy and simple. I absolutely adore your hair.
YvesLorde It takes a lot of getting used to with the flat iron. You may have better luck using a curling wand.

Giselle Huanqui Philipps It depends on how well your hair holds a curl. I have naturally wavy hair and it holds a curl really well, I usually don't need hair spray. If your hair is naturally straight you may need to set it with a spray. Hope it works out for you!

does not work for me. Hair just slides out of the iron and end up with no curl. I like this girls hair cut and it is certainly not short. try a pixie for a short do.
AZSinbad try a light layer of hairspray, medium grip while turning, and turn the straightner slowly. when finished, flip your head over for volume and spray another layer of hairspray :) good luck, have a good day
