Glad to see you appreciate the German Plates. The German system is such that the letters at the beginning represent the city or region where you registered the car. K is Cologne, W is Wuppertal MZ is Mainz, MG Mönchengladbach, etc. The remainder of the plate is randomly assigned or can be customised for a small fee. I always found EZ 69 amusing for some reason. You can take your plate with you if you change your car so the same plate may have been on several cars.
Top Tip: Before you fit & install the new door pockets for the Volvo, line the inside of the panels with black felt - this will prevent any loose items rattling against the hard plastic and making an irritating noise whilst driving.
Great junk in the trunk👍 I will have to look through my Junk to send you something totally not useful 🤣 I've started collecting Rover sales brochures too as I've got a late Facelift 25 so have been scouring the interweb for stuff 🤓 Have also bought myself a Bissell spot cleaner like yours after seeing your Mouldeo videos, it's a cracking bit of kit and I couldn't believe the muck that came out of my seats, will hit up the Diamond Bright website to get some more upholstery cleaner 👍😁 Hope you had a great Christmas and have a Happy New Year 🥳
I had one of those Pye stereo's as my first car hifi (the version on the cover of the brochure) along with some Pye rectangular speakers which went in my beige base trim metro c1987. If I remember right it was half price from Halfords
That belgian license plate combination is actually older than it might seem. That combination must have been registered somewhere in the mid to late 60's. A belgian license plate isn't registered to a specific car, but rather to the owner/driver themselves. This means a license plate can stay with a person for their whole driving career, moving from car to car. In 2010 the new EU style license plates and combinations were rolled out, these are now replacing the old plates bit by bit. New plates still stay with the owner though.
You really do have the best fans Matt. I will have to see if I can get you a snorkel and fitting kit for Hippo for the next installment of Junk In The Trunk??? 👍🙂👍
The problem for the bubble Rover 200 was that they pitched it pricewise against rivals from the next segment up (it being a supermini and being compared to the Astra, Golf, etc) and obviously it was too small to compete directly with the larger cars and too expensive to compete with other superminis. Trying to market the Rover badge with the same premium as the parent BMW badge was never going to work considering the gulf in relative quality levels.
I remember that issue of Car magazine ! I bought it from 1986 for 25 years . Got rid of them when I moved house ! Along with other stuff I wish I still had 😢
The Australian car magazine Wheels had that Austin 1800/Mini East to West article written by Evan Green (father of journo Gavin Green) in two parts. It was a great read, well worth reading
Great JitT Matt! Watching this a little later than normally and it’s been 24 hours, so I suspect at least two of those dropped sockets have disappeared into an alternative universe. I’m clearing out the garage this weekend, so I’ll be finding all sorts of stuff I lost over the years….
That's rare to see a phase 2 Renault 19 three door that isn't a 16v! I had two phase 1 J reg Renault 19's myself an they're underated cars. Certainly way better than the troublesome Laguna II that I had years later!! I also have a pair of Sparkomatic rear shelf speaker pods, if anyone wants them let me know I'd be glad to get them out of my garage!!
All sorts of stuff in junk in the trunk some number plates your collection is growing or motoring related and the Rover literature and a couple of peices for your cars amd the dash mat for your Crown Victoria also in N.S.W they issued number plates similar to the German number plates and many other different styles of number plates comreative styles if number plates my brother collects number plates he must have hundreds of them he also a hoarder
I love the Sunshine State licence plates. When I was a kid, I loved seeing those when travelling to Queensland on holidays from New South Wales. The colour reminded me of palm trees. Now Queensland plates are a horrible maroon/brown colour.

I do, thanks! I knew there was a system to the letters but wasnt sure what it was! cant see whats so funny about the EZ plate....
Your going to get a bad reputation lurking around the back of trunk’s Matt 😉, what a bumper Junk in the Trunk , your fans are just so nice.
They really are the best!
That Rover's boot lid is starting to sound like Windy Miller's windmill.

good idea, they are very, very rattly plastic!
I was going to say the same thing.
lining them with material might help to strengthen them to a certain degree as well.
Lunchtime Viewing Sorted

Sparkomatic Miami in my Yugo Cabriolet- might inform as to the desirability! 😂

Id be happy to pay for a genuine LR one, Hippo is crying out for that (and sneaky trip to the now closed Rufford Ford!)
@Furious Tea Break I'm on the case Matt don't worry 👍
the number plate ws2144 is a new zealand plate. from the 90s

A mate I had swapped a Strada 70 for an R19 TXE - those were the days eh?

Glad you liked the Car magazine. I've sent you an email about the Signum drive as well now. Happy New Year!
It's fascinating, looking back and looking forward with hindsight!
We'll fix a date in the new year, hopefully the weather will be good

I dont think Ill ever find most of them...the 10mm's are long gone
Glad you liked the car radio brochures I think there maybe a price list in one
I did, its fascinating to see how styles and technology have changed
Some fab stuff. I have the same type of binder for a couple of the Vauxhall ranges, wealth of info in 'em. Great ep 👍

Get them on ebay, they'll go for sure!
Love junk in the trunk
Great little Junk in the trunk, some amazing things received this time around, highlight for me has to be that Rover Corporate folder.
That really is an incredible thing - for a Rover fan its pure gold
I reckon that plate is from New Zealand. It was on a 1980 Ford Cortina 1.6 GL in white!
Thats a very specific guess!
Golly, if I don't resonate with the channel name 🤣

Happy new year and another good video 🚗🚙🚘👍👍⭐️⭐️
Is the plate from Jason for New South Wales? Looks similar
Ive heard NSW and New Zealand now
Furious Driving “Pot” Bag 😂
Cant type! Post Bag!
I only got as far as the graphic-equaliser feature (11mins), then had to go take a 'private-break' in the bathroom.
Those were very special!
@@furiousteabreak7892 Had one in my 1st car - a mighty Metro. I think it was actually worth more than the ruddy car!.
Hey why junk in the trunk
"Loot in the Boot" seems more appropriate
That was considered but 'loot' sounded wrong
Exposure fluctuation?
yeah, not sure why the camera decided to shift about so much
Do you have a Thai number plate or Myanmar plate
No! That would be new territory for the Wall
