It's important people realise that CPEC is an economic OPPORTUNITY not a SOLUTION.
The transport links, infrastructure, energy, expertise etc are all meant to be utilised by the business community and the common Pakistani to make money. CPEC the project will not make you money, it is only intended to facilitate you making money. There may be investment by foreign businesses in Pakistan due to the improved conditions thanks to CPEC projects, but that is not the aim of CPEC - the greatest opportunity it presents are to Pakistani people.
If you don't take that opportunity, you will only be burdened by the bill of CPEC, rather than enabled by the opportunity it presents. There is a lot of intellectual dishonesty by politicians around CPEC and unfortunately our mainstream media rarely cuts through the BS. They are headline factories not news desks.
The typical template for benefiting from CPEC should be this;
1. Pakistani businessman identifies a product he/she wants to produce (maybe setup in a CPEC SEZ)
2. Gets machinery to manufacture that product (import from China if needed)
3. Generate that product (using energy provided by CPEC projects)
4. Sell that product domestically, and internationally (export using the ports or road/rail links setup by CPEC).
It's not going to make you money unless you are economically active.
Pakistan has a FTA with China.......all the best...

CPEC is a massive a opportunity to make Balochistan into the richest province of Pakistan by its exploitation and modernization of its uninhabited areas which are filled with gold and what not . It will provide jobs to the local population and foreign companies as well . Giving Pakistan's engineering field people to stop leaving the country and work in Balochistan. The region of Balochistan is worth billions if not a trillion . And by modernizing it Chinese trade will benefit Extremely by reducing the transportation of goods through hostile waters ( India , Japan and islands ) directly to the middle East . And on to Europe . Pakistan will modernize exponentially and its GDP can double in less than 10 years . Making its population richer than its neighbours india , Iran and Afghanistan .

If Pakistani do not create anything themselves than their economy will be captured by everyone and anyone. Vietnam, a country half our size, which was at war constantly until 1975 now exports more than we produce as a country. Last year they exported $336 billion worth of goods, our GDP is about that size.
How can a country half our size export 10 times more stuff than us? Is 1 Vietnamese 20 times more productive than a Pakistani?
Whilst in Pakistan everyone looks for salkari naukri and invests in "real estate", in Vietnam people make things and sell them abroad. That's why nobody has taken over their economy.
