It was an important trade port and a crucial staging point for the Viking invasions of Western Europe and beyond to the Mediterranean, etc. For a long time, Denmark had an itinerant court, that held its Ting and Hof at various locations.

When 7/11 started over here back in the 1980 -90 th there was a song for the Advertisement " rigth down the corner" -and thats the truth, now it a lot of gas station had a 7/11 store also all over -is I know the why ( its some an american stuff- as usual) mostly 20 years later at is started in US- just a note!

That might be a culture chok for you. People dont think we have meny homless im Denmark, but we do. Its just not allowed to camp/sleep in stations and midt streets in big Citys like Copenhagen. So meny homless sleep there (Sundholm herreberrg), in trains or in forests. But its like 5 building in one spot full of homless plus a night check in place (natcafeen Sundholm) where those without money just come for thr night sometimes or Sleep on the streets there if not even allowed there. I do Believe its the unofficial biggest shelter in the would. But even locals dont know of it since its kind of hidden. We plan to make a video there ourselfs some day. And Show the dark sides of Denmark too.

you should come to aarhus, its the happiest city in the world, the second biggest city in the denmark and my home city. I can recomend streetfood, "aarhus ø" and "den permenente" for activities. For museums and sightseeing i recomend, "den gamle by" "botanisk have (botanical garden)", mindeparken, Aros, Moesgård, domkirken, "Harald Skovbys gade" a historical cobblestone street on about 50 meters which dates back to the vikings, or just walk in the center of the city for architechture.
