  • Throughout the weeks leading up to Matariki, 2024, guest speakers give a series of talks about kai Māori (maori food) practices connected to taonga (treasures) from our collection.
This kōrero (talk) is about Tipuārangi - the whetū (star) associated with all that lives and grows in the trees.
Matariki has a strong connection to our taiao (nature) and natural world, reminding us to give thanks for our freshwater, saltwater, winds and rains.
Join Puke Tīmoti as he discusses Tipuārangi - the Matariki star associated with all that lives and grows up in the trees. This kōrero will discuss manu rangatira (chiefly birds), with an emphasis on kererū and the four P's: prepare, provision, preserve, and prestige.
