Every one of those SC justices knows the code of conduct for US judges sets ethical standards that make it clear that they need to be transparent and refuse anything that looks remotely like payola. The only reason they’re not bound to the rules other federal judges follow is because of their constitutional status. BUT they could and should impose those rules on themselves. It is not the weakness of the Constitution alone that "allowed" these "Justices" to receive unethical "benefits" - it was Congress running away from their duty of oversight over the other branches of our government.
The Supreme Court was given wide and deep power to... "interpret" the Constitution and how other courts and laws might violate it, but there was no other body give power to watch directly over the Supreme Court itself.

1:05 “(Scalia) also accepted lavish gifts”
Incorrect, Scalia actually originated gifts for himself.
One of these gags occurred at the resort where he died.
He would scope out a resort or hunting trip, suggest to someone in the billionaire network that he should be invited there, an invitation would arrive from a stranger.
Scalia would declare the source of the invitation a friend, and the whole matter would be declared “hospitality among friends.”

The billionaire is his best friend. They met at a party 4 years into his sco term. They hit it off on a personal level and became fast friends. Clarence went to the government and told them of his gifts of mostly trips. They decided that since they were actually friends then his gifts are just that, gifts. He did not include every personal gift that was given to him by his real friend because our government already told him those were personal gifts and as a human being he is allowed to have a very rich best friend and accept gifts from him.
That's the truth. So im not sure why its a problem now. No one has proven he accepted these gifts as favors for anything. Previous interviews and investigations concluded in the same way. He can accept gifts from friends because they are actually friends.

The Scheme 31: The Crooked Stick and the Supreme Court
    RUclips · Senator Sheldon Whitehouse
    1 May 2024
April 30 | Senator Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI), Chairman of the Senate Judiciary Courts Subcommittee, delivers the thirty-first in a series of speeches titled “The Scheme,” exposing the machinations by right-wing donor interests to capture the Supreme Court and achieve through the Court what they cannot through the elected branches of government.
Whitehouse compares the prosecutions of government officials for failing to properly disclose gifts of free vacations, event tickets, lodging, or travel, with the lack of accountability for the right-wing Court justices who have received similar undisclosed gifts.
