Went to compete with the Irish team in Austria, and it’s the same story as the German competitions. They gave us like three cases of incredibly good beer at the end and had the beer taps at the venue going. Was very bizarre initially but I feel this is the entire reason weightlifting is not as successful as it could be. Beer taps should be mandatory at all competitions.
11:05 hip cleans (hang cleans as we're taught in the US) It's because American football coaches live them, and they make us (young American athletes) do them in every program for athletes. That and power cleans. It's so widespread that when ESPN posts a college player doing a full clean, nearly every comment calls it a power clean. I'd say most American football players (I say this from experience) do not know a clean vs a power clean vs a muscle clean. Also, we're never taught a proper front rack.
I've been noticing other RUclipsrs using clips of Eoin squatting in their own videos. Alex Bromley had it in a video, and Squat University had one in one of their shorts. Internationally acclaimed squatting soon.
Did you even give a shoutout to that "behind the back clapping planche push up set of 5" guy? I feel like a behind the back clapping planche push up set of 5 deserves a shout out...
I feel like there are some teams bringing more of a younger audience into the Bundesliga (Athletenschmiede Kiel for example) but the old man culture is strong with German weightlifting
I got the gold/black Lu lifters, arrived last week. Feels very much like an Anta, and fits like a Rom 2/OG Legacy Lifter - true to size. I didn't experience the sizing issue that Zack reported on (and others.) Is gud shoe, immediately set a clean and jerk PB, and squatted over 227kg in back to back sessions.
Brianny Terry (75kg) and Samantha Rice (82.5kg) both pulled 291 kg at The American Pro 2 for a tied Raw world record in absolute terms, Brianny is lighter so is being touted as the "greatest female raw deadlifter of all time". Becca Swanson has the multi pay record at 315kg.
But is Shi Zhiyong even going to be picked for the Chinese Olympic team? I mean, they have: Li Fabin in 61kg Chen Lijun in 67kg (not sure if he is going to move weighclasses, as it's not olympic) Shi Zhiyong in 73kg Tian Tao and Li Dayin in 89kg Liu Huanhua in 102kg IDK how the fuck they are going to sort it out, they can only pick three males.
Chen lijun did cut to 61 as Asian champs I think, but he lost to li fabin. Idk if he's still going down, but both of them can't go. It's either fabin or lijun
@@alubchickendefinitely not. Li Fabin yes, guaranteed gold. But Liu Huanhua is by far the best performing 102 at the moment so he is very likely going as well. The third spot at the moment will go to Li Dayin, because under normal circumstances he is the favourite to win the 89s. That might change when Karlos gets in shape, but right now there’s a good chance that Shi Zhiyong can’t beat Rahmat, so sending him will be a bigger risk than sending Li Dayin.
Hi, actually there was the 1. European Weightlifting Team Competition. It was in September and the winner of the German and the winner of the Austria leuge together with selected lifters from GB did compete there. For the clubs world class lifters like karapetian and suhares ritvas competed. There is also a live stream online you can watch on demand. It did take place in Obrigheim Germany with a lot of people watching (over 500 people I hink). It was planned from German weightlifting and not from the ewf I think. They did say they want to bring the event back next year.
28:51 I was all ready to believe that the weight is legit and not fake, until you said he claims "just TRT", which is the new fake natty. He certainly looks hyped like it's a real PR though
The bench is real, one of the bench goats in the US rn. Scroll through his account and you’ll see some insane drop sets. I believe he’s done 650 with a pause.
@@zwryy7622I like Shi Zhiyong but I personally think he was intimidated by the lifter with the super slow pull( from Thailand?)in his weight class who recently became champion
That cliff-hanger at the end got me on the edge my seat
Made me watch the bloody advert for nothing😂

John Haack in captain america singlet: I can do this half a day
What did Daire tell Eoin earlier??? xDDDD
Ahoy from Atlanta, Georgia
So when are we going to get a video on Sika Hunting? The real questions need to be answered - Browning or Sako…?
There is only one correct answer.. and it's definitely not Browning. I named my dog Sako 😂
I don’t see Shi in the Olympics tho :/

Genuinely upset you didn't introduce Keydomar as our favourite Venezuelan fridge. Doing the poor man a disservice
Sopharma makes the best “supplements” 🙃🖖🇧🇬
Steroids right? 🤣
Anyone got the @ of the Japanese girl squatting 200? 11:15
Sadly the Bundesliga viewers are 80% above 60 years old😵💫😅
BUMS ON SEATS IS ALL WE NEED 🤣

Have u guys forgotten that JESUS did 500 already
That has not happened yet
John Haack is 30 and yes he had quite a few injuries going in yet still won!
What a guy!
Iirc he got injured during strongman prep or after strongmen prep while prepping for the meet. Either way, another 1000kg total from this savage
We'll never find out what Daire was saying to Eoin earlier
First week of RTA today. Haven't done above 5 reps on squats for years. That 4x10 humbled me.
You'll ne grateful at the end ✨️ 😌
Coaches, would there ever be a Sikastan Citizens News Show? Submitted lifts by citizens being covered?
Graham Hicks is a lad

Lucy Underdown with the 317.5 kg (700 lbs) strongwoman record deserves a mention as well.
@Pletzmutz If Lucy's grip is alright she should hop into a meet and steal the 300kg raw from under the noses of everyone else!
@@keithgalvin2830 have a look at Lucy's record on RUclips, looked like she could have done 330+ that day
Great to see the Shethar lads getting some exposure! 🔥💪🏻
Bench is legit. Dude routinely posts huge benches in a bench group on Facebook.
I hate the hip clean. My arms are too long to do it
really want shi to make 205/170 before he retires

They have to send Giga tho, right?
They have to limit the USA track and field team to just 3 males, or maybe 4 to do the relay...why not?

Really like that Japanese cabin gym but isn’t the end of the bar hitting the edge of those cubbies?! Or is that just the angle creating an illusion?
The coach probably didn't want to see his 13 year old athlete get hurt to be fair.
What was he saying to Gurph earlier tho?
Can you Review Sam Mattis's style of squats in the how to squat series?
Doesn't Shi normally start with his feet a wee bit wider?
Mr. Weaklegs here!
The only stable part of my week
Amazing episode!

I got myself gold on black Antas some 3 months back. Interested to hear your thoughts on them tho.
Hopefully I get some soon!
I saw John Haack in the audience of a meet about a month ago and its nuts he was able to get down to 197 and put up that total
Was it ever explained why Shi has been AFK for so long?
Never got the specfics of the injury
