    Went to compete with the Irish team in Austria, and it’s the same story as the German competitions.
    They gave us like three cases of incredibly good beer at the end and had the beer taps at the venue going.
    Was very bizarre initially but I feel this is the entire reason weightlifting is not as successful as it could be. Beer taps should be mandatory at all competitions.

    11:05 hip cleans (hang cleans as we're taught in the US)
    It's because American football coaches live them, and they make us (young American athletes) do them in every program for athletes. That and power cleans. It's so widespread that when ESPN posts a college player doing a full clean, nearly every comment calls it a power clean.
    I'd say most American football players (I say this from experience) do not know a clean vs a power clean vs a muscle clean.
    Also, we're never taught a proper front rack.

    I've been noticing other RUclipsrs using clips of Eoin squatting in their own videos. Alex Bromley had it in a video, and Squat University had one in one of their shorts. Internationally acclaimed squatting soon.

    I got the gold/black Lu lifters, arrived last week. Feels very much like an Anta, and fits like a Rom 2/OG Legacy Lifter - true to size. I didn't experience the sizing issue that Zack reported on (and others.) Is gud shoe, immediately set a clean and jerk PB, and squatted over 227kg in back to back sessions.

    Brianny Terry (75kg) and Samantha Rice (82.5kg) both pulled 291 kg at The American Pro 2 for a tied Raw world record in absolute terms, Brianny is lighter so is being touted as the "greatest female raw deadlifter of all time".
    Becca Swanson has the multi pay record at 315kg.

    But is Shi Zhiyong even going to be picked for the Chinese Olympic team? I mean, they have:
    Li Fabin in 61kg
    Chen Lijun in 67kg (not sure if he is going to move weighclasses, as it's not olympic)
    Shi Zhiyong in 73kg
    Tian Tao and Li Dayin in 89kg
    Liu Huanhua in 102kg
    IDK how the fuck they are going to sort it out, they can only pick three males.

    • @alubchicken
      @alubchicken 10 месяцев назад

      Li Fabin, Chen Lijun, and Shi Zhiyong have the most records and most likely to win, i bet it's those 3.

      Chen lijun did cut to 61 as Asian champs I think, but he lost to li fabin. Idk if he's still going down, but both of them can't go. It's either fabin or lijun

    • @toon2792
      @toon2792 10 месяцев назад

      @@alubchickendefinitely not. Li Fabin yes, guaranteed gold. But Liu Huanhua is by far the best performing 102 at the moment so he is very likely going as well. The third spot at the moment will go to Li Dayin, because under normal circumstances he is the favourite to win the 89s. That might change when Karlos gets in shape, but right now there’s a good chance that Shi Zhiyong can’t beat Rahmat, so sending him will be a bigger risk than sending Li Dayin.

    Hi, actually there was the 1. European Weightlifting Team Competition. It was in September and the winner of the German and the winner of the Austria leuge together with selected lifters from GB did compete there. For the clubs world class lifters like karapetian and suhares ritvas competed. There is also a live stream online you can watch on demand. It did take place in Obrigheim Germany with a lot of people watching (over 500 people I hink). It was planned from German weightlifting and not from the ewf I think. They did say they want to bring the event back next year.
