They are balanced to the teeth. This means rule-sets are set in place to create fair gameplay for everyone involved. Sometimes we do this "dynamically". For example: Maybe a low ranked team would start with pistol only, then get a specter and light shield. After switching sides they maybe can full buy, etc, etc. This gives a sense of suspense to the video as the opposing team would slowly face an increasing challenge!

I did a 1v5 against 5 very new players (would prolly be at iron 1) but they know how to shot lmao and I lost 11-13 (I’m gold 1) but it is so much harder than it looks

I actually chose fracture because there hasn't been a video made on fracture plus it was my first time playing vs irons (or anyone bellow gold for that matter) so fracture was the perfect map to give me the winning edge and I still struggled lol.
I would actually say the best Brim map is either Bind, Lotus or Ascent. I'm personally best on Lotus with brim
