Show @SketchiTsketches some love!
#MontyPython #DeadParrot #reaction Развлечения
Monty Python was a TV series first, with some of the best sketches ever. And then there were the movies
I'm going through a really tough time in my life right now and sorry if this sounds weird but it's really helpful and therapeutic to laugh at Monty Python with someone so thanks, man. like, really ✌🏼💯
Same here.. life couldn't be much worse atm. Keep strong 💪
This was a skit from Monty Python’s Flying Circus TV show that was similar to the glory days of Saturday Night Live or The Carol Burnett Show. Great classic comedy!
Nope
Nothing was similar to monty python.
Probably more fair to say that SNL was an American attempt to be MPFC-ish.
This is probably from the movie version, though. The TV version went on for a little longer, with John Cleese's character apparently being given a runaround by being sent to a different shop in a different city, only ending up in the same shop with Michael Palin wearing a fake moustache and pretending that he was someone else. The Lumberjack Song, on the other hand, followed a different sketch where Michael Palin played a psychotic hairdresser, who ended up saying that he didn't want to be a hairdresser, but a lumberjack.
The TV series had four seasons, but most of the memorable sketches are from the first two. The fourth one didn't even have John Cleese in it. The movie is clearly a "best of" compilation.
Check out the "Fish Slapping Dance".
This is from 'And now for something completely different' The first Python film, which was refilmed versions of sketches from their TV series. Then they shot 'Holy Grail' and 'Life of Brian' (which are more narrative but still basically a story made of sketches), and then 'Meaning of Life' which contains longer sketches (supposedly from Birth to Death). Each continues the general style but on quite varying budgets. Try 'Every Sperm Is Sacred!' from the Meaning of Life. I think it'll crack you up!
And following all that, John Cleese (the dissatisfied pet shop customer)
created FAWLTY TOWERS,
a 2 season British TV sitcom of 6 episodes in each season.
And they are brilliant !!!
Two skits i've requested from MPFC are THE MINISTRY OF SILLY WALKS and ARGUEMENT CLINIC.
You could easily fit them both into one sitting. I think you'll howl -
Fun story: the theme tune to this show almost got me fuckin' beaten up in 2012. I was visiting the US (I'm a Brit) and went to a July 4th picnic, and they had a few guys with brass instruments playing patriotic songs. No lyrics, though, so when they played Oh Country 'Tis Of Thee I asked why they were playing the UK's national anthem (God Save The King/Queen, literally the same music before America stuck other lyrics on it). That was bad enough, but then they played The Liberty Bell...which I'd only ever heard before at the start of this show, when I was a kid. Almost shit myself laughing.
I heard this skit on the Dr. Demento radio program ... many years ago!! Fond memories. 💞
They used the transition to the Lumberjack song twice. The other transition happened after a sketch about a barber who absolutely hated his job, and was wearing a white barbers coat with a lot of red stains which were supposed to be blood stains.
They also cut to Lumberjack at the end of Election Special on The Final Rip-Off double album. In all cases it's a case of someone totally unhappy in their job looking to do a job that seems way more exciting... and probably completely out of their capabilities. Let's face it, most of us have worked shitty jobs that made us feel like that at some point.
That is just hilarious!!🦜
Absolutely Hysterical 😂😂😂
A Fjording Classic!
Much Love to you and Ukraine
🌻🌻🌻💙💛💙
My fav of all time Python sketch is the augment sketch it will blow your mind!
Check out "Four Yorkshiremen", live at the Hollywood Bowl. One of the greatest live-performances in history. And pure genius and immortal. Cheers from Italy!
Yes the skits were 'run' into each other, more like awkwardly forced together into weirdness. Great fun.
Back in the days I've watched these three movies Monty Python and Tne Meaning of Life, Monty Python Life of Brian and Monty Python and The Holy Grail
In the early 90s in college I took a class called Perspectives on Death. Really. The professor showed this clip as an example of the many euphemisms for death.
You are the first person I know that caught the opening lines......"Hello, Miss?" ....."I'm sorry, I have a cold."
Spam, spam, spam, spam. Dead rat. Confuse-a-cat. Flying sheep. Funny walks.
when Graham Chapman, the Python who played King Arthur and Brian in each of those movies, passed away, John Cleese, the Python with the dead parrot, did the dead parrot sketch in eulogy form to honor his friend. it was bittersweet, mostly bitter, because Graham was a truly loved member of the troupe and the first to go. there are clips of John talking about it in various interviews. some of their stuff was funny just because it was silly, but mostly it was funny because it was based on life. just exaggerated to the farthest degree that a Brit could exaggerate. - one of the six was/is an American who was living in Britain at the time. his name is Terry Gilliam and he did all the illustrations and animations. all 6 of the members, the others including Terry Jones who we lost last year, Michael Palin and Eric Idle are comic icons along with Neil Innes who wrote and performed much of the music sometimes with Eric. i don't think you can go wrong with any of their material.
This sketch was inspired by the experience of one of the writers complaining about a second hand car, the dealer gave every excuse in the book as to why he wasn't responsible for the non functioning car ie " oh no sir, they ALL do that" etc etc etc.
I have heard it said that whenever 2 old Monty Python fans meet they are legally obligated to perform the Dead Parrot sketch. It's become that much of a classic among the fandom. ;)
Unless they've come from a fishmonger's.
@@blechtic Mind you, we've got the midterm elections coming up soon here in the states and I want to know why we can't vote for: Malcolm Peter Brian Telescope Adrian Umbrella Stand Jasper Wednesday (pops mouth twice) Stoatgobbler John Raw Vegetable (whinnying) Arthur Norman Michael (blows squeaker) Featherstone Smith (whistle) Northcott Edwards Harris (fires pistol, then 'whoop') Mason (chuff-chuff-chuff-chuff) Frampton Jones Fruitbat Gilbert (sings) 'We'll keep a welcome in the' (three shots) Williams If I Could Walk That Way Jenkin (squeaker) Tiger-drawers Pratt Thompson (sings) 'Raindrops Keep Falling On My Head' Darcy Carter (horn) Pussycat (sings) 'Don't Sleep In The Subway' Barton Mainwaring (hoot, 'whoop') Smith
Fish Slapping Dance
Monty Python's flying Circus is the greatest ensemble comedy troupe of all time. Try "Cheese shop" next or "Lumberjack song." Amazing
Highly recommend Cheese Shop. By far my favorite Monty Python skit.
Do "Bicycle Repair Man" next :)
Monty Python was originally a tv series. Their first movie, “And Now For Something Completely Different” was basically a compilation of tv sketches, then they did “Monty Python and the Holy Grail”, “Monty Python’s Life of Brian”, and “Monty Python’s Meaning of Life”.
Life of Brian was the one with the most coherent storyline.
Meaning of Life had spendid sketches but never even attempted to tell a story.
Check out the "Nudge, Nudge" and "World's Funniest Joke" ( the Killing Joke ) sketches - and "The Art of Not Being Seen", please 😂
"Self Defence" is another good one 😂
The Rutles👍🏻
Hungarian Phrase book. I’m sorry my hovercraft is full of eels!
Please watch "The ministry for silly walks" that one cracks me up every time, really its amazing. Also please watch their movies, "Life of Brian", "Holy Grail" and "The Meaning of Life" the movies are silly but fun to watch.
the dead parrot sketch sounded well at the live at drury Lane performance.
Monty Python was originally sketch comedy like SNL
Yeah monty python's flying circus was the series.. at heart a scetch comedy format. But often running jokes throughout , often with skits running into each other "seamlessly "
I used to watch it at home. My mum and dad just didn't get it. 😂😂😂😂😂
This was one of the many skits shown on the TV series that came before the movies they put out. One thing that always made me laugh : here in Montreal, I used to watch the show, came on weekly at midnight. At the end of the show, after their outro (which was always as ridiculous as the shows themselves, of course) always came the announcement " This has been brought to you by Vermont Educational TV" That would crack me up almost as much as the show itself!!
Four Yorkshiremen 😁🤣
My preferred one is definitely 'the killing joke', about a joke that kills its reader.
Wenn ist das Nunstück git und Slotermeyer? Ja! Beiherhund das Oder die Flipperwaldt gersput! LOL...aargh.
Monty Python was a collections of scenes and it was also the show that mastered the art of ending scenes completely clueless and without a punchline.
When you were wondering how the story of the Norwegian Blue evolved, they just dropped it and started the next scene or something a collection of cartoons.
But nevertheless "Norwegian Blue" and "pining for the fjords" became classic expressions.
THey hadd a tv show named Monty Pythons Flying Circus, look for that!
You should watch the’ I want to be a woman’ part of the life of Brian
Those transitions to other scenes is one of the trademarks of Monty Python.
They sometimes use those to get out of jokes that they don't have a punchline for. They chickened out of punchlines surprisingly often and I am still amazed that they got away with it the way they did.
Nobody else would.
In fact, some all time classics came out of it. AFAIK the Lumberjack Song was created directly as a result that they needed something to get out of the Homicidal Barber scene for which they didn't manage to come up with an ending for.
They sometimes even highlighted this, for example at the end of the Spanish Inquisition episode, where they just rolled the credits and the characters had to hurry up to get their stuff done in time. (unsuccessfully)
Been watching a docuseries on Monty Python and the lack of punchlines is by design. It was fully intended to be absurdist humor and was intentionally breaking the traditional pattern of joke/punchline. Terry Gilliam's animations, which also became a trademark of their own, was often used to fill those gaps where a punchline would normally have been.
Ministry of funny walks, olympics(?) for incontinent people. Olympics for retards (or whatever its called), the argumentation sketch (maybe some1 knows the name of this one, where he's in the argumentative office room)
and Fawlty Towers - Don't mention the war (Let's be real John Cleese IS Monthy Python so it counts) are some of my all time favourites.
There’s a song from a Monty Python movie called The meaning of life the song itself is called Every sperm is sacred it’s actually sung for the most part by children even at the time it was considered controversial even by Python standards but it’s really funny!
Wasn’t the pet shop in Notlob (Bolton spelled backwards for those not from the UK)
one skits after another.
You are so cute! Watching your face is even better than the skit. Greetings from Guatemala.
Please react to Monty Python and the Holy Grail. So Hilarious 😆😆
Try the crunchy frog sketch
Great one. Next stop the Cheese Shop.
This is a skit from the Monty Python´s Movie "A now for something completely different" which was a "Remake" of some skits randomly put together from the "Monty Python´s Flying Circus" TV show as a sort of "Potpourri" which all were shot new again for the Movie.
I personally like the "Dead Parrot skit" from the TV show better than the remake for the movie...in the TV version John Cleese is way more passionate in his complaint.
But on YT is just the Movie version to find unfortunately.
the same is valid for the skit "Self Defense against fresh fruit"...where the TV version is way better than the movie version ..and on YT is just the Movie version to find but which doesn´t mean it isn´t worth to watch
"And now for something completely different" is a collection of sketches and gags given a vague and barely coherent continuation. It's worth watching. As is Monthy Python's Holy Grail, Life of Brian, The meaning of life, and the rest of the flying circus.
Have you seen Yellowbeard? Monty Python + Cheech & Chong. Not a great movie but some very funny parts!
The Britts have the best humor...
Have you seen the Hermit sketch?
Have look at "Bottom" That isfunny stuff.. fan of your piage groetjes van Nederland
Eddie Hitler is my spirit animal.
* hic *
you have to see monty python in O2
How can I request you to react to something ? 🙂
Try the argument sketch.
It was a sketch comedy
Others have already explained that Monty Python is originally a TV sketch show group, because of their success they went on to make three films. The first and third are somewhat like elongated versions of the TV show, a series of sketches, but with an overriding theme. The second however, Life of Brian, has a bit more of a three act structure and plot which is why many consider it the best. There is a lively debate, though, as everyone who likes the more avant-garde, let's poke fun at film making itself, sketch style prefers the first, Holy Grail (seems to be about 50/50). I've yet to hear anyone acclaim the third, Meaning of Life, as the best. Try not to watch the clips of the movies, instead watch the whole film.
Summing up a number of everyday euphesmism for "dead" is funny? I always thought the fun was in rather accurately portraying Brutish customer service...
The real joke is thet a Norwegian parrot does not exist. Dead or alive, it is not a thing.
Funny stuff, though I do prefer the Flying Circus version of this skit. Laugh track aside, there's a bombasticness to the performance that I feel better sells the punchlines. Camera work's not as good, but that's the price you pay for doing it in a single shot
Try Crunchy Frog
At this point, I started to believe that at least 10% of Americans have a reaction channel on youtube. Is it really that profitable??
Hahaha Doubtful that it's 10%. As with all things, you have to put in the time and effort to make it work.
Logic is not their forte :)
How can you still see the dislikes on the videos? All I see is the number of likes next to the thumbs-up and the word "DISLIKE" next to the thumbs-down.
So you want people to think you are from NYC?
This is what it's like when people ask Biden about the inflation and high prices.
each episode is made up of diffrent sketches same actors
Is this guy trying to speak English?? If he is he is not doing well at all.
