This is the best scene in the series maybe of all time. Anime made a rap battle heated,friendly and cute as hell all at the same time. Muni in particular killed it. Muni supremacy.
Being completely honest,I hate hate hate characters who are only happy ALL THE TIME,actually I don’t think anybody likes one dimensional characters,so this song/episode made me really like Rinku even more
Out of all the songs in first mix this one takes the cake as my favorite one. This song does it for me, something I've always been wondering since episode 3 was _"If Rinku and Muni used to be best friends when they were younger, how did that bond between them break?"_ Rinku's cheerful and always charming behavior is why she's such an amazing character and why I love her so much! She's unwilling to give up and is there to help anybody who's feeling down. Muni's narcissistic yet cute behavior is what makes her "munique" and one of my favorite characters. Despite her being short-tempered and self-centered at times, she conveys it all in an adorable way that screams "Awesome!" Seeing how great friends they are in the series leading up to this point and how they work together so well, I was still questioning: _"How did they stop being besties all of a sudden? They seem cool with each other."_ But then I watched Childhood Friends (Episode where this song comes from) and my question was answered. In the episode, Rinku hangs out at Muni's place to teach her how to rap. Rinku is playing Muni's fitness game and has gotten farther than she has. It isn't until Rinku gets a phone call from Towa and hands the controller to Muni for her to play for her. Muni, (who hasn't gotten this far into the game) tries her best but ends up failing due to the enemy being too difficult for her. Rinku gets off the phone right after and sees her visibly upset and tries to cheer her up. Muni isn't having any of it and asks her to just leave and Rinku decides to leave her alone as she sees she'd upset her. After this conflict, Muni is distant from the rest of Happy Around and doesn't talk to them. Muni then unexpectedly leaves and Maho asks Rinku what happened in which we see the colorful and happy Rinku crying not knowing what to do. Seeing Rinku cry made my heart break. It's always so sad to see somebody as cheerful and expressive all the time become upset and lost. Rei then decides to talk to Muni about why she won't forgive Rinku. Muni tells Rei that she "messed up" again. The reason Rinku and Muni _used_ to be best friends is because when Rinku moved to Africa they promised they would never stop sending each other letters. Muni didn't hold up on their deal and ended up breaking their promise together leaving Rinku wondering where she's gone. Muni is as guilty as Rinku is in this situation since she messed up and made Rinku upset twice. Muni hasn't apologized to her because she isn't honest with her feelings to tell Rinku what her true thoughts are and blames everybody but herself. Maho and Rei decided to break the conflict between them with a rap battle. However Muni is still upset and lashes out at Rinku for not being considerate of her. Rinku, (being the honest person she is) tells her that she's waited every day for a letter from her when they were far apart and just wanted to see her once more. Muni then remembers how she's put down Rinku more than once and doesn't want to repeat it. It's shown in the video that Muni missed Rinku, as much as Rinku missed Muni. This episode has an amazing message to it and I don't think I've ever cried as hard when watching an anime. I love this series 10/10 ❤
I'm gonna be real honest, I often find raps in animes really, cringe, when I first started watching this scene I'm very very inclined to just skip it and spare me the blabbers, but boy when the rap starts to escalate, and then comes the duet part👌 Now I really love this scene so much I would even like to show this to others confidently just to show the beauty of it.
