We will learn which phase changes and exothermic, and which are endothermic. It all has to do with the direction of heat movement, or heat transfer. If heat transfers from the surroundings into a system, it is an endothermic process. If it transfers from a system into the surroundings, it is an exothermic process.

I love all of these comments because they are exactly how I feel. I love you! Thank you for taking the time to help us visualize and actually understand chemistry. You are THE best!
His channel is seriously one the best things that has ever happened on RUclips. Tyler you're such a blessing!
Thank you so much your way of teaching is best ❤❤❤❤❤❤
Thanks a ton for the lovely explanation. I read many sites but couldn't understand why condensation releases heat. Your video simply cleared it in a jiffy. Please make a video on heat released and absorbed by molecules during evaporation and condensation . Love from India.
The world would be different if all teachers would be as passionate as you are 💗
It’s 2024 and you’re still changing lives from this video! THANK YOU ❤
Tyler makes things SO easy to understand!
LOVED the explanation!! I finally got the concept. The visual aid TOTALLY helps!! Thank you!
Explaining the "direction" of heat helped ALOT. Thanks man!
Wow.. I have a test tomorrow that includes this topic. I was very confused about it because I only thought about endo = cold, and exo= hot. But I never thought about the direction of the heat. Which made it A LOT simpler. Thank you so much. Thank you!!
The Chemistry messiah
HAHAHAHA YEAH
I love this. Pray for my chemistry exam. thank you teacher ! May gpd bless you
*god
I think it's my turn now
You are making learning about chemistry soooo much easier. You break it down to the very basics that I can understand. Thank you so much :)
Thank you for this awesome video tutorial Tyler! I am a teacher and I will use this to help my high school students in Pre AP Chem!
thank you so much ..I am a student in on of the best university in the world but whenever I go to the chemistry lecture I hardly understand from lecturer. after that I go directly to your videos
yo where fam I wanna go there... also that's probally your opinion I prefer smaller universities like SVU and BYU

WoW! Amazing video the way you teach is simple and AWESOME keep it up man
I love Chemistry Pewdiepie... best teacher ever!
Please upload videos on sub shells, orbitals and quantum numbers.
Oh my God... my reaction to chemistry now is,"oh.. wait... i thought all wrong before... chemistry is wayyyy toooo much easyyy"
Imma say again... THANK U you are the bestest teacher.
We feel cold in the endothermic reactions when the heat goes from our body into the system. In a way, if the stove could "feel" where its heat goes, it would "feel" the water as cold, because it would receive the heat from the stove. But when that water receives that heat, it becomes hotter (its temperature raises).
Your explainations are clear. You are intelligent 👌👌
wow thanks for making that so clear!!! I was always so confused, but not anymore. def will be watching your videos from now on!

perfect way in teaching ..
thanks alot ..
MY BOY STILL SAVING LIVES IN 2023
Thank you so much I'm in 8th grade and we have to know about endo-and-exothermic reactions for our test... But I wasn't paying attention this past week so i had no idea what it meant 😂 you explained it so well I think ima pass this test😂😂
I am in 8th grade as well but am really good at science and math so I am thanking 11th grade science this year
Holly shit pun of the year at 0:01,,,,still pretty helpful thanks :)
Molly Duck OH SHIT that pun
can you please make a video about positional randomness and energy randomness, and how to determine the sign of delta S, and how to know if a reaction is spontaneous or not !
MY BOY STILL SAVING LIVES IN 2022!
My boy still saving lives in 2020 !
Thank you so muchhhh! You have cleared my doubts! God bless everyone!
Your videos are extremely helpful, thank you! I don't see a video about Le Chatelier's Principle. Would you tell me where to look, and if there isn't one...please make one:)
very awesome lectures

helped me with my exam, wow thanks!
Thank you Sir.
Really, thanks lot.
Why couldn't I have found your videos earlier in the year?
Thanks you're the best :).
Of only you could be our chem teacher then maybe we'll start enjoying the subject
What about sublimation, vaporization, and depositions?
Thank you so much for your help.
good teaching 👍👍👌👌😊
"I'm wearing a hot pink shirt, because were going to hear about heat in this lesson."
Me: Yes..... Just Yes
Thank you Tyler!!!
Why ammonium chloride is an endothermic reaction, while it is losing enery and its temp decrease??
Wrong value for the DH of vaporization. Where did you get 88? Everyone else posts 40.7
exam in 5 hrs , saving my educational life , i dont get a word from the text book
shut up🤫🤫🤫
Thank you very much sir.
I have a chemistry test tmry

Did u graduate?:)
why youtube videos are much helpful than going to class??
Not all teachers are meant to teach... some teachers become teachers just because its a regular paycheck. Also these videos being 10min allows you to focus more since its a shorter time frame. As well people who make videos usually like teaching which means they are good at it. Also some teachers do not have a solid backround in what they are teaching.... sorry Im 4 years too late lol
So true. Even tho my teacher can teach, I didn’t understand half of the lesson
@@skeletonskelly5075 ...
Why cant you be my chemistry teacher. You explain it more understandable!
I agree!

my chem teacher is soooo insufferable! i wish the same too
We would all be so lucky!
Well, now he is EVERYONE’s chemistry teacher!!!
Yay for us!
I changed majors because my professor was horrible. I thought it was too difficult, in reality, the teacher just was not that great. Haha. Now I’m a teacher to teachers.

2:23 OH THAT MAKES SENSE
I feel so frustrated knowing you so late in my life! I have been failing my Chemistry course over and over because Chemistry is really a mystery that I really find it difficult to solve. I hope I would be able to nail my exam tomorrow. You are such a heaven sent!
it's been 5 years, i wonder how you did on that exam haha
I've been learning about endothermic and exothermic (just studying chemistry recreationally) recently and had a question.
So when cooking food, it's endothermic. It's absorbing the heat. However I'm very curious, once the food is done cooking and you put it on a plate and sit at a table. The food giving off heat is now a exothermic?
This video helped me after 11 years!! THANK YOU
I always think of it as a plate of hot food. When you see the plate of food steaming, you know it's eventually going to cool. So even though the food is hot, it's actually slowly cooling down which is an example of an exothermic change.
My university's chemistry department has added some of your videos to our suggested review materials and they have helped me a lot! I enjoy the visual images, and your creativity! Thanks for helping me get through Chem 1 :}
You are a chemistry master!! I have the hardest time getting this without watching your videos! Thanks so very much for making them!

I can’t !!! 1 second in and I understood everything 😂😂😂😂😭😭😭
Miss you. Please upload more videos :(
The amount of people you help every year is amazing. seriously wouldn't have passed chemistry without your help. Thank you Tyler
Hi thanks for that, it really helps... can you please do a video on Hess's Law?
this video saved me from failing my chemistry test!! thank you!!
