It's funny, as I watched this for the first time my husband was playing with our two year son... Despite his incredibly demanding job, he always has the energy to play with our son everyday, and they both love it and are so happy. This is something everyday I'm so grateful for. Sometimes when I get caught up in the trivial or insignificant things, listening to one of your songs helps me slow down and cherish every moment I can have with my children while they are young.

My children lost their father recently and they are young..... this reminds me so much of the bond they had with their daddy. You never know when you could lose someone so tragically and unexpectedly. Be grateful for every moment. Life can change in an instant. Your entire life can change in a second and this song reminds of what's most important .

we need more men to be FATHERS like this. my dad wasn't always around and often chose not to be there... but when he was... it was just like this.
I know he had his reasons for opting out. he's a veteran, betrayed by his country and government for a lost cause war. he lost plenty of loved ones in that war and lost a few more later as a result of it. He lost his sister to cancer when she was still in her prime. his dad died in his arms - after years of being estranged and not talking even though they lived nextdoor to each other. he was there the day his heart stopped. he resuscitated him and only had minutes to say he was sorry and that he loved him before he died. Twenty years later his mom died in the same house. her illness was the only thing that brought him and his remaining sister back together. they had to swallow their pride and get over their differences in order to help their mom in her final days.
I look at pictures of him when he was still a kid, wild and barefooted like this one, and I wish I could have known him before all the bad things happened.. at the age of eight years old he had a pony and dog and a 22 rifle. he would live like a cowboy in the wilds of north Florida, pretending to be Paladin, because that was better than hanging around a mean, cheating drunk that was supposed to be his father. But he would always be home in time to take care of his responsibilities. he always worked hard at any job while in school. Joined the Marines when he was 18. Saw the world and almost died. He lived in California and a few other places with people I'll never get to meet. He might even have a few more kids we don't know about.
He's an old man now, and he's trying his best to make up for his absence and selfishness through the years. he was in survival mode for most of his life and half of mine, and I forgive him for it. I'm glad he has a relationship with his grandkids.
But i say all of that just to say.... if you're a father.... you probably have no idea how valuable you are at this age. you are setting a foundation for their future. Put your phone down, turn off your social media. ignore the outside world that's calling YOU away from your kids, and go play with them. go for walks, ride some bikes, swim, climb trees, build forts, sing songs, make up silly names for each other and make believe games.
Your time to do these things is running out. they dont want distractions, they want YOU.

My dad never did this to me till he passed away, i wish he did before. But I finally understand the struggle and the sacrifice he did to earn money far from family go to work in a different island just to make our family keep living and make sure my family have better life and future. I miss My dad so much.

Yesterday marked 2 years since my big brother passed away. July 30th 2020.
Yesterday was also the first time I heart this song and I think it’s a lesson that I’ve been learning more and more but have yet to put words to. You guys have done it though. It’s true…hold onto the ones you love and keep them close bc when they leave…they are gone. But as I grow and continue to live past the passing of my brother I’ve learned more and more to appreciate what I still have. Life is so hard, but there’s are still so many blessings in my life and just because time stopped for awhile and just because life is hard doesn’t mean that’s all life is. This song really hit. It’s a reminder to keep living and loving because time is fleeting. So hold onto those you love and make the best of it

Wow... Just wow. People say how important Dad's are in a child's life but I think it's actually GOOD Dad's are so important. Plenty of people have Father's in their life, but don't have quality time with them and attention, love and comfort like portrayed in this video. I always had my Dad but he had a lot of problems and couldn't be the great Dad that my friends all seemed to have. I'm still so grateful to have him but I'd be lying if I said I didn't tear up watching this and seeing how much I've missed out on. To anyone out there that's a Dad but isn't "there" PLEASE do everything in your power to make time for your child, those moments are SO important 💜
