If you don't mind me asking, why do you sometimes start with block graduation using shears before cutting the sides with the clippers last and other times start with cutting the sides first like in this video? I ask because I've been doing really well ever since I started using the block graduation technique I learned from your videos, so I'm curious if there have been some occasions I used it when it wasn't necessary to start with it.
This video is disconnected and shaved all the way up. If I’m preserving length I’ll start with block graduation to set the perimeter. If it’s going to be shorter than that I just clipper over comb or start with a large guard and cut it down
@@Seancutshair Thanks man! That makes sense. Really shoulda thought of that myself, but I don't think I've ever actually done a disconnected cut like this before. I'll check out more videos of those.
hey sean love the content and the quality of your vids man and it was a blast meeting you at barber con as 15 year old barber hope to be on your level sooon
My youngest came down for a haircut yesterday. No fade. Haircut turned out ok. My biggest problem is figuring out how high to go in the back of the head. Not everyone's occipital bone is evident for using as a landmark. And I didn't want to cut too high up the crown & leave him looking like Dennis the Menace. Suggestions?
@@Seancutshair I'm guessing more practice eh? Haircut doesn't look too bad. Which one of your haircuts is the 'go to' for home barbers? (Tough ??? eh?)
@@brucewayne2091 I suggest you use clipper over comb for shaping the hair. When you're clipper over combing the back of the head, just make sure that you are angling the comb out. And when you do that, also make sure that the spine of the comb doesn't go higher than the ear. I'm a barber too. I hope this suggestion will help you.
@@Seancutshair thank you!! My hair on the top right now is pushed back. It probably goes down to my chin if I pull it down to the front and the sides are short. I wanted to get a mullet and keep the top long and pushed back but could never find a tutorial for reference. Thank you!
What's the best clipper for a beginner to use in your opinion? I've only been cutting for about 6 months, self thought no school, and I'm using the Gamma+ Boosted
Amazing cut !
I saved a cut with clipper over comb. It made his fade real clean. sometimes the guards can't do what that comb do right...
Ok ok
Look's amazing 🔥👌
The last 3 minutes of the video was great...😊

How long would a cut like this take if you weren’t filming?
30-40 minutes

Follow the shape of the style on top. The fade should drop according to what’s left up there

Excellent haircut. I'm not a fan of the disconnected look at all, but you did it well.
Yeah I prefer it blended but thanks 🙏🏼
@@Seancutshair But even with the disconnected look that I don't care for, he looks much better than with the shaggy mop top! 🙂
Awesome 😎
