    I am on Soc.Sec. disability but I want to work at a part time job. I would be making about $800 a month. Its hard to live on what I make.
    So it's not a good idea to work.

    I feel like the word disabled gets tossed around a lot and I believe to an extent some disabled can work and I don’t think it is right to get cut from working or going over the budget of the benefits you get through the government Assistabce.

      The issue comes down to if you can work 40 hours a week as a reliable employee. The system works to weed out those that take advantage, but a lot of people that are truly disabled have a hard time getting benefits approved.

    I’m on total disability. I want to earn some money but not in the field I was in. I don’t ahave the mobility I did when I was working. Would I lose my disability if I found something I could do at home or part time job.

      If your policy has residual disability that allows you to work while disabled then you may be able to. However you can only earn a certain amount and your benefit will likely be reduced once you start earning money. I would check your policy and speak to your adjuster.

    I have been reading that big changes are coming to SSDI.....its sounds like many people who are already approved may be challenged due to the changes...for example they are saying that age and education will no longer factor into your case.....what are your thoughts? This could be devastating to many. If they no longer care that you are 60 years old with a high school education but can t work?

    Im on disability and my review is every 7 years. Would they find out if i go back to school?

    • @DisabilityAttorneys
      @DisabilityAttorneys  5 лет назад

      It would be advisable to let them know you are intending to return to school. I am surprised they don’t perform a review at least once a year. But if they were to find out they may think you were hiding it from them and it is best to be up front with the insurance carrier. I am not sure why you are on disability, but if you are able to go to school full time then they may equate that to being able to work full time. Depends on the circumstances.

      @@DisabilityAttorneys I was diagnosed with depression. I was born witha deformity and I worked in the past but could never seem to hold on to a job for long. I'm not lazy, I just have alot of things running in circles in my head. I also have a stutter that emotionally stresses me out while in public and that also depresses me? I won my disability on my own and on the first try. I'm also legally blind from one eye

    if i were to work one/two days a week on minimum wage would my disability be affected in any way?
    I'm hoping i can handle one to two days just as a reason to get out of the house...

    • @DisabilityAttorneys
      @DisabilityAttorneys  4 года назад

      MeowRayz, we totally understand your thought process and why you may wish to get out of the house. First and foremost, being disabled does not mean you are a prisoner in your own home. That being said, you must always be careful when out as insurance companies can do surveillance and they love to misconstrue situations. Regarding your inquiry about working, the quick answer to your question is, Yes, it could potentially effect your claim and the amount of money that the insurance company pays. However, it may not. We would need to speak with you to learn more about your claim and we will likely need to review a copy of the policy governing your claim.

    Not an good idea to work wile you on disablty . They say if you can work you should not get it at all

      Although working while on disability can cause additional scrutiny/issues with the insurance carriers, the overwhelming majority of policies do allow for insureds to work and still be eligible for partial benefits.
