I travelled all the way from NZ to Savannah in the 1990s because of the novel. Amazingly, the first person I met, after I checked into a hotel near the riverside, was John Berendt, at the hotel's early evening cocktail party!!!!! We talked for half an hour, he told me he was from NY, asked me what had brought me to Savannah? I replied it was a book, and described it to him. Only later did I discover that I had been talking with the writer. Lovely human being.
This is such a classic movie. I’ve been to Savannah and what an extraordinary tribute to a city this movie is❤ It is now one of my favorite movies ever, adding to my collection along with To Kill a Mockingbird ❤
Should’ve kept the lady of a thousand songs (she had her own chapter) instead of creating a nonexistent love interest for Clint’s lackluster daughter to play. The Lady Chablis stole the movie. Rest in Peace.
You cut off the best part, with that absolutely charming lady, at the party! When she starts waving her little gun around, saying "I'll shoot a man! I really will!" Ugh! It makes me so home sick! 😂😂😂
Great book by John Berendt. Great movie. Love the eccentric characters, allegedly all real. The Lady Chablis was terrific. RIP Best quote "two tears in a bucket, motherf*& ket" 😂😂. I've liked all Kevin Spacey movies, so many wonderful roles. Terrific actor. Unfortunately his dark past is a turn off. I hate people who target kids. There went his career. The movie is worth the watching. Eastwood did a great job with this unusual plot.

I love Savannah. Been there 7 times. The book and this movie took me there. I loved the movie and especially Miss Chablis. So sorry she is gone.
I was a third way through the book when I saw the Non Fiction tag…blew me away

Got crap reviews but I love this movie.
It was a great piece. The book too. Critics remarks are subjective and not the last word.
I thought it was fantastic. The book was good too.
Same!
What a great movie.
In order to understand the living you have to commune with the dead❤

Good movie, beautiful city of Savannah!
Except it's ringed by paper mills and it perpetually stinks 😖

Great movie. Great book.
This is a great movie great actress and actors
I loved visiting Savannah … I also visited the house, which was absolutely gorgeous. Read the book prior to the film.
Great movie
Adore Savannah.....
Practically all the actual characters in this movie have died. Sonny just a few months ago, in his 90's.
One of my favourites 😊
This was a wonderful movie.

Jack Thompson. Aussie actor too.
Jude Law as Billy Hanson?
Nothing against Jude Law playing Danny Hansford, but I think Mark Wahlberg (Marky Mark) better captured his personality and mannerisms.
In what please?
I liked the book .

That’s her but she’s dead now
Check out the drawer at 11:43 art imitating life there.
Can you separate the artist from his crimes?
