- How to learn a pistol squat the fastest way…
👉🏼 Narrow Stance Squats
Those will strengthen your knees and help you to adapt to full ankle range of motion, which we need for the pistol squat!
👉🏼 Negative Pistol Squats
You might not be able to get up, but you’re probably capable of performing the lowering phase of a pistol squat. Try to go low as slow as possible. The strength you’re gaining here transfers to the concentric phase of the pistol squat.
👉🏼 Lateral Step Ups
This exercise helps you to develop single leg strength and stability in the full range of motion.
👉🏼 Box Pistol Squats
I would always suggest starting to work on a pistol squat on a box which helps to work slowly on a more horizontal leg.
Once your hip flexor is strong enough to stay horizontal throughout the full ROM, you will be able to perform a pistol squat on the ground. ✅

I learned the pistol squat but doing 1st learning regular squats then practicing to improve my ankle flexibility by sitting on my feet in a kneeling position then pushing my upper body back until I feel my ankles stretching & holding for 5-20 seconds (the more you do the exercise the less your ankles hurt & you cab hold for longer). Sitting in a chair then getting up using only 1 foot while the other is in the air which mimics the pistol squat position. Don't neglect training your ankle & even knee flexibility for this exercise
Another excellent progression video Marie. 🙏🙏
This is f*cking impressive!
Thank you for tutorial ❤
Amazing.
I did 100 squats a day for a month and later it just came naturally. Btw I'm 38.
Wow so fit
🔥🔥🔥🔥
I did it without any practise..
Easy to injure the spine and knee.
❤❤❤🍀🍀🍀👍👍👍🙏🙏🙏
Poor knees
your knee is going past your foot. this isn’t good.
That’s how you do a pistol squat
@@Cyberianlynx😂😂 yeah thought the same
Actually no, that changed a couple years ago, your knee going past the foot is how to create stronger knees.
@@Alynleia nope.. not cprrect
@jessrnny knee going past your foot just means you are using full range of motion. How are you supposed to do anything with squatting deep without going past your foot? That foot rule was just used to tell people to limit their knee "extension", which is bullshit
