    As a Law main, the funny thing about Alphen is that I got more use out of him from the bench; he gets stronger with less HP and his support strike deals stupid damage when he's low, but if hes on the bench, he can't die. I kept him out for random encounters but benched him for bosses and he served me very well lol.

    Kisara kept me alive in SO many battles on the higher difficulties! And her AI worked surprisingly well from my experience.

  • @HAVIC101XXX
    @HAVIC101XXX Год назад +38

    Kisara's AI is way more than capable of holding enemy aggro and never dying from anything. She learns a passive skill that draws enemy aggro while she's holding guard. Setting your party's AI to keep at a distance from enemies will have her run close to her target, but not right in their face, and hold block constantly without attacking. Any enemies that the player isn't targeting will never leave her alone and never get anywhere close to taking her down, so long as somebody is casting heals for the party. (Note that if you're targeting an enemy, then that specific enemy is going after you no matter what kind of aggro control you have set up.)
    Whenever I was in a tough battle against two or more boss enemies, I'd make Kisara target an enemy that I'm not attacking and have her hold her shield up at them. She might as well have grabbed every other enemy and jumped off the arena with them. They laser focus on Kisara and just do not EVER bother me or my two AI spell casters. That leaves us free to focus down the one enemy that's still trying to take me on, letting me defeat the enemies one at a time with a rather extreme level of safety and consistency. Once there's only one enemy left, meaning it's going to go after whoever I'm controlling, I'd either switch Kisara out for somebody else, or switch player control to Kisara. Then finish the fight with three spell casters on AI.
    Another thing. When she's player controlled, Kisara can very easily infinite combo regular enemies. Because, for some bizarre reason, her 2nd normal attack leaves enemies in hitstun long enough for her to stop attacking and continue the combo with her 1st normal attack. She can loop those two hits forever. And she can put most any string of Artes in between those two hits. So long as she ends any long combo with her 2nd normal attack and immediately hits with her 1st normal attack, that enemy isn't going anywhere until death.
    Also, about burning through your limited CP supply. Just turn off any Artes that you don't want your AI using. There's no reason any AI character should be burning through CP if you don't want them to be doing so. You're in full control of that.

    I actually main Kisara. I took advantage of being able to manipulate the aggro by giving her Increased aggro + whilst every other character getting decreased aggro + and then just held up my shield for the entire fight whilst walking up to enemies to make sure they only attack me. Sounds boring but its a safe, consistent strat that made the endgame/DLC bosses a breeze.

    Playing this game all the way through on unknown difficulty (frustrating but satisfying when you beat a tough boss), I will say this tier list is super accurate for that difficulty level. However, for the best team for unknown difficulty I have to disagree with you.
    I would say the best team is Law, Shionne, Rinwell and Dohalim. The reason Alphen is not included on the team is merely because his boost attack is insanely godly on unknown difficulty (or any difficulty), therefore you want access to it as frequently and safely as possible which means not including him in the party and then having him equipped with an accessory with 4x +8% boost gauge. This allows you to call alphen's boost attack without worries of him dying and every time he downs an enemy, which is guaranteed unless enemy is in overlimit, his boost gauge recharges to almost 100%. This allows you to keep bosses in a downed state for almost 100% of the fight if you want (cheap strategy), or have an on demand panic button to make time to cast a res or healing spell. Since he can't die or be healed when used as a boost attack call his boost attack also starts to deal awesome damage when his health starts to get low.
    While this strategy can still be done with Alphen on the team, you will lose out on a lot of Alphen's damage capabilities as now he is no longer equipped with 4x counterattack +30%. At which point it just better off using Law on the team.

    I have Dohalim as top tier because his super mode is easily activated and his gravity magic for crowd control is pretty nuts. He can also just spam air artes for great damage and crowd control. He is not mid tier at all just in terms of being able to break the game. Although he is certainly not as busted as the The Sovereign, The Maiden, or The Last Witch. Law has the worst super mode because you have to keep attacking and he has to get up close where he is more easily interupted and I still can't call him better than Dohalim. Kisara's ability to pull aggro is very strong and puts her above Law.

    If you factor in personal skill and ease of use then things could appear different depending on the player.
    Rinwell is great but difficult to master. Definitely the hardest character to play. Her spell canceling is a chore to implement in combos along with spell stealing. Factor in different spell start ups, the enemy can easily walk right out of you spells. Though spamming air thrust always gets the job done. Also you'll rarely get to use her second mystic arte.
    Kisara is takes some skill since it's harder to perfect guard compared to rolling into attacks with the other character's evading option. Also her artes don't flow together as well as others. I'd like to believe Kisara's Defense party boost has saved me from death often. It's reminiscent of Laphicet's break soul.
    Dohalim is somewhat easy. The only difficulty I found with him is that his artes have long start up and recovery. This effects the ability to perform his second mystic arte consistently. Using Bloody Howling from afar and closing the distant is a great strategy though. As for his break boost its very situational, the worst in the game honestly.
    Shionne is about intermediate. It's easy to lose track of her special bullets and the timing and spacing for her combos could be tricky.
    Alphen is easy. the best break boost, best combos. Just watch your health basically.
    Law is just the easiest. No downsides I can't really think of in terms of use. He evades further than others, his combos flow together nicely, air mobility and options are great, his break boost good, he gets overlimit every 10 seconds. Overall a great beginner character.

      Is law really that good? It is good to know that this game's character are well balanced then. Personally for me, only alphen doin the kiling as fast as i can, shionne keeps the party alive, kisara takes aggro from other enemies so my alphen can launch killing combo to one enemy or more without too much interuption and rinwell makes alphen combo easier with aoe dmg and she also deal decent dmg. Law and dohalim basically just warm the bench.... I cant use law as good as you, when alphen lose his blazing sword and shionne is gone...ouch, i'm really struggling with law as controlled character and dohalim as healer.

    • @SeveredEverlastingWorldLore
      @SeveredEverlastingWorldLore Год назад

      @@paulsutanto9471 Law has two artes that will help out a lot. One goes something like hygenomy flare and the other is Divine something I think. You get them both by using your spirit artes around 50 and 100 times (artes like Steele and the healing one). They are great for breaking through enemy defense. The Divine arte in particular usually breaks iron stance or enemy guards it in one shot, it's a punch where he charges up for a bit and deals a bunch of damage. It's great for bosses and core weak points. You can also try going in and out with artes like eagle assault and eagle dive. As for his accessory set up, a lot of stuff just works. Personally I use Raw attack, and decreased arte guage cost in order to combo for a long time to get his buffs. If you ever need to experiment, just go back to the earlier areas, equip the minimum damage artifact, use a weak weapon with little penetration, and train. See what combos together.
      As for playing as the healer. I don't find it enjoyable or effective. So probably just set the healer to focus on healing and turn off the close combat artes.

If you play her utilizing everything, you'd actually be able to pull off her 2nd mystic arte during that rare time she'd ever get overlimit.

    This video is pretty accurate for characters but I just wanted to add how I saw the team, al, and shionne, law, and winwell were my main group I heard every had to change since I believe the game gives you great pairs for the teams, al and shionne work so well together since when you used al increased damage with shionne healing al can basically never die, with law and winwell they work since yes law does have weak defence but makes up with it with his quick strikes and crazy fast speed, plus he gets faster when he powers up with his trace ability, which where rinwell comes in, with her great spells she great at keeping enemies trap while laws comes in to finished them off, plus keeping them away from rinwell, and finally with dohalim is just great all-rounder they works with al, shionne and rinwell with two healers al can just go crazy, and kiara yes is the slowest but her tank build is good for the long boss fights and is good for protect the three casters, I would use each characters in pair like how the game paired them since in my opinion that's the best way to use them since they cover each others weakness, all and all each characters are great and none of them sucks to me, but it was a great video and very detailed too.

    Though I played as all 4 party members, I mainly played as Law for most of the game, switching to Alphen during the final arc and I while all 4 where fun, Law and Alphen where definitely the best! While Law's ai isnt as good as Alphen's its still pretty good. the ai I struggled with the most however was Shionne's, she barely used revitalize or healing circle, and would run straight into enemy fire sometimes even being closer to the enemy then Law or Alphen where. Rinwell is the character I got more surprised from, she’s much much more strong than Magilou except for the stealing art ability which works much more in Berseria, (seriously Magilou could solo any caster in the game by spamming R2)
    The only real problem I got with Law and Dohalim otherwise they’re nice characters is that they have to few artes compared to Alphen. (Kisara has a lot more then Dohalim and she’s useless)
    Dohalim is kinda the jack of all trades but Eizen was too and he was incredibly strong. Law on the other hands has like 2 reliable attacks and nothing else, I have no reason why, I would’ve wanted to use him more but he never learned much from the beginning of the game.

    Usually, Tales games put 4 early characters in the party which are often the easiest and the best solid ones. The later characters are for more additions to make different combinations.
    I don't quite use Kisara a lot because instead of dodging like other characters, she blocks. And i used to mistake her playing style. =)) And yes, her AI is pretty bad, despite a tanker, she dies a lot. I usually use Alphen, Shionne, Rinwell and switch between Law and Dohalim when i need more DPS or healing depending on situations.
    Alphen is no doubt the god himself. His Burst is the best, can knock down almost every type of enemies in any sistuations. Spam full charging Incineration Wave all days. Spam Demon Fang and Double is fun as well. :V
    Shionne has great AI. She takes care of herself pretty well. She dodges well and keeps herself alive almost the time. Long range shooter, caster and healer is good in Arise.

  • @ifrit1937
    @ifrit1937 7 месяцев назад

    My list would more or less be:
    If I"m playing them If AI is playing them
    1st Alphen 1st Rinwell
    2nd Dohalim 2nd Shionne
    3rd Shionne 3rd Dohalim
    4th. Law 4th Law
    5th Kisara 5th Kisara
    6th Rinwell 6th Alphen (mainly due to AI killing themselves with blazing artes, if this could be prevented he'd likely be 3rd. Granted Velvet had the same issue in
    Berseria which is why when I'm not controlling these 2 they're benched)
    With that said I wills ay this even though Arise's combat system is my 2nd/3rd favorite after Hearts R and the Xillias the ally AI in the game is quite frankly trash, especially on higher difficulties as they constantly get themselves killed if you don't have them on the runaway option (they seemed to be tweaked a bit in the dlc that just released as they haven't died as much as in the base game on the same difficulty option but they're still not that great either).

      Eh Arise's AI was just bad period....easily the worst in the series with only maybe Symphonia Raine being on par with how suicidal the ally AI was. Throw in the fact that the party AI strategy menu was party based and not individual character based, which is likely where the issues occurred, and you get the only aspect that's bad with the game's combat: ally AI...hell can't even say AI in general as the enemy AI works quite a bit smarter than many of the past games, it's just your party that gets fucked.
      As for best AI in the series: Hearts R or Xillia 1 and 2 (Xillias definitely has the best or more accurately broken OP wise healer, Elise, in the series).
      Honestly the game's only real issues were the AI, side quests mostly being boring fetch/one off job board hunting quests, the final dungeon being a pain to explore, and the final 10 or so hours of the story dropping off quite a bit from the moment you get to the end of Lenegis (personally I would've just kept going with the Renans are the bad guy and made the last Sovereign the main final boss even if it's more generic...the logic would've been more solid imo...could've even added the Great spirit being used by him to do soemthing like stealing Dahna's life force to revive Rena...oh and Vhorlan should've either died at the end of his region or when you see him in Lenegis...he never should've popped his head in for 1 final BS fight. The forgiveness aspect also should've been cut out as they had a better message at the end of region 3 where Kisara more or less said she didn't forgive the Renans for the BS they did however she will try to move on for the sake of the future with Renans and Dahnans living together. Outside of those story bits though the story was solid...granted Almeldria/events related to her were annoying like a Disney Queen style of annoying though which is NOT a compliment lol).

      @@mrdarkstar3756 Velvet's the only one with a more suicidal AI than him given her AI will use up all HP until it hits 1 before ending the Berserk form...well there's Raine too who's stupid enough to run up to an enemy to smack it with her staff far too many times even when her TP is at more than 75%...probably the only other AI out there worse than those 2 in the series tbh.

      Since Vesperia? I mean I'm with you when it comes to like Zestiria and onwards because to me it's then on that the combat have felt still, limiting, convoluted for the sake of being different when it comes to the other characters that isn't the main one (the main offender being Berseria, every character that is not Velvet feels terrible to use), and lacking options when it comes to the amount of artes, so much so I haven't been able to replay them after beating them once as much as I enjoy the characters story wise.
      But Graces f have my favorite battle system, it's really good and every character is fun to use (even tho I have my 3 favorites), followed by Xillia 2 which is really fun combat and story wise. Hearts R is another one with great combat, and imo has the best strategy menu in the series and I hope they would bring it back because you can customize that thing so well the ai feel like it's 3 steps ahead of you doing exactly what you want them to do at the right time. So there has been great games after Vesperia
