- Having ridden around these places so many times over the years and as mentioned on the edit Abbey Village is a great place to start a ride which gives options of Darwen Tower, Healey Nab, Brinscall Woods, Rivington, Great Hill etc etc and is usually our top winter venue for a night ride
We had been down the ravine in the White Coppice area but it was probably over a decade ago so at my request we gave it another try. Apparently last time (although I can't remember) it must have been after a dry period the stream was dry and we rode down the river bed but this time it made sense to ride the path at the side
Some more wandering around the hillside didn't really cut the mustard to find anything new but it was a nice evening out on the bikes in the sunshine on almost the summer solstice so what's not to like
Graham disappeared after a couple of hours due to an ongoing injury from Dyfi impaling himself on his bar end after a huge drop off a few weeks prior which was still giving him some pain
Not the best 'riding' edit your likely to see but all part of the experience of trying to find something new and as I say on my Strava 'you win some, you lose some'
Did that ride a few weeks beforw you did and the ferns were nowhere near as high. Takes me ages to edit and upload vids though 😀. loved your vid and good to see the sun for a change 😎 🌞🌞
Cheers pal, I'm getting quite proficient at editing without doing anything too complicated. I think if your raw footage is good then stitching it together is fairly straight forward. I started doing this editing malarky 3-4 years ago and it took me forever so much so I've got about 50 rides I never got round to editing but I've kind of moved on since then so have resided in the archive and 2 rides a week being filmed at the moment is more than enough editing to keep me out of mischief
17:23 nice sun set
Done those many times the river run is getting a bit narrow in places might need digging out and another few weeks and those ferns will obscure every rock making it even more fun.
Not done this in over 10 years and my mate said we rode down the riverbed last time but I don't remember. Is that doable, have you tried it?
@@mtbnorthwestengland only in one section, we crossed over to try and get round the unrideable corner but it was only partially successful, to be honest we wondering about using crow bars to do a few tweaks but we only ride it once or twice a year, never done the river bed any further always seems to have a flow on it. There is a cave on the left at one bit that goes in a short way if you ever get bored 🥱😂
Done that trail alongside the river a few times but quickly got tired of it because multiple sections of it are not rideable, it gets boggy and hard to see when the ferns are out. If there is a dry spell I might try it again
I'll not be rushing back either, 10 years or so ago since I did that. Was good for a change but that'll do me for at least another few years
