Yooo...THANK YOU! I've been struggling with the bowline for a while and this video finally cleared things up for me. And the terminology seriously helped!! Def gonna check out the rest of your videos. Thanks for doing this!
That's HUGE. Thank you for taking the time to reach out. I'm glad you found the video helpful. And yeah, check out the rest of them. People tend to be less stressed after watching them. I've been there, I get it, learning the knots can be rough at times 😊 Are you pursuing firefighting or are you just doing a little ropes training?
Great question! Yes they are the same knot, but they are tied using a different technique. The 10 second image is tightened with the left hand creating the loop for the bowline knot (as shown in the snap bowline technique at 2:58). The second image at 38 seconds is tightened with the right hand creating the loop for the bowline knot at 34 seconds. Basically, the side the knot is on is based on which hand is being used to tighten down the knot creating the loop for the bowline. Does that make sense? If not, let me know.

@@FirefighterAmbitions I'm actually pursuing firefighting. Volunteering currently. Recently NREMT certified and waiting for academies to open back up.
Thank you so much! I passed the knot section thanks to your videos!

So either way is fine to tie a bowline? You just gave us two ways to do it. Correct? I start academy in two months ! Videos are helping me out!

hey, is the knot at 0:10 and 0:38 the same?
(one has the loop 'to the left' and the other is 'to the right')
