You mentioned reading Sylvanas; have you listened to it as well? I do recommend the audio book because Patty reads it. Her voice still makes me shiver. Hopefully she'll get to come back. The story reads a lot like fan works rather than official Warcraft lit - mostly because it deals with relationships between chars, but without any events that drive the plotline forward. I remember reading "Road To Damnation", an old short story in which the Lich King officially appoints Kel'thuzad to be his right hand. He ascents to Naxxramas and watches people die in the process. Or "Dark Mirror", in which Sylvanas body-swaps Nathanos with his last living relative, who was sacrificed for Nathanos to be stronger and serve the Dark Lady in the upcoming war. In this story, however, it's just the family talking to one another. I think Blizzard doesn't want true plots in stories anymore because gamers don't read, sadly, and complain these things aren't told through the game.
yes i totally agree. its like it just deepens some background lore/personality of characters, but ultimately you dont HAVE to read it, it doesnt impact much in the game itself. and yes I do know of those two short stories, those are great. i might have to reread them because its been a few years. you're definitely right. but i am glad they still put these stories out there, and the actual WoW novels as well. I've been reading them all this year and I've read about 13 of the 27 books. hoping i can get them all finished by the end of the year :D its awesome how much it deepens your connection to the game. i really wish i read them all sooner
