Legendary Eyewitness News anchor Bill Beutel worked over four decades for ABC, spending much of that time co-anchoring Eyewitness News for WABC-TV in New York City. He died on March 18, 2006. Eyewitness News and his WABC-TV family paid tribute to Beutel's career with this video.

I remember seeing Bill walking through Central Park one beautiful spring afternoon in the middle of the week. I assumed he was on his way to the ABC studios from his home on the east side, hoofing it because of the weather. I don't know if that's true. Maybe he was just taking a walk. I said hello to him and he smiled and nodded. At that moment I wondered if he had been day drinking. That's my story.

WABC 7 had Roger Grimsby and Bill Beutel and Ernie Anastos,WNBC 4 had Chuck Scarborough and Sue Simmons(I think they still do the news, WCBS 2 had Jim Jensen and Vic Miles,WPIX 11 had Pat Harper and husband Joe Harper, WOR-TV 9 had Tom Dunn and Sara Lee Kessler,also Jane Velez-Mitchell.
