This man was a huge staple of our New York childhoods.
What an amazing man! The true epitome of what a news anchor and journalist really should be! I grew up watching this team when I lived downstate New York, and remember my parents always watching the news and seeing Roger and Bill every night, what an amazing group they were, RIP all of them
One of the best news anchors from abc7 and my childhood. I was born in 1982.
Bill Beutel and Roger Grimsby were the best anchor team of my generation!
And yes... they're ABC's top dogs of Eyewitness News.
Facts. My childhood
@@tyrondavis6727I remember, too.
Greetings from the UK - I had never heard of Bill until watching this just now. What a great guy sounds like we could do with him now
Tom, we had many great ones.
I do miss those days.
Tom, Storm Field was our favorite weatherman. He followed in his father's footsteps. His name was Frank.
THE GOAT OF MY CHILDHOOD 📺📺📺📺
I remember Bill Beutel, Sara Wallace, Ira Joe Fisher, and Scott Clark. That was my favorite news anchor team along with Jim Jensen and Michelle Marsh on Channel 2.
Bill Beutel was always the face and voice of wabc Eyewitness News. I miss him.
In what month of 2001 Bill Beutel stepped down from the anchor desk?
Remember Bill Beutel. I'm from the UK. Every time I tune in on Channel 7, I would always watch Bill Beutel

OMG I REMEMBER BILL !! Loved watching him!
Roger was busy across the street from the studio at the pub knocking them down. Lolololol. R.I.P. to both of these wonderful men, Roger and Bill. Great news crew.
I Remember Bill Beutel!
My God, how I miss this man. The greatest anchor New York ever had and ever will have.
What about Chuck Scarborough ?
@@2004cyrus Another legend and excellent at his craft.
Roger Grimsby
I remember seeing Bill walking through Central Park one beautiful spring afternoon in the middle of the week. I assumed he was on his way to the ABC studios from his home on the east side, hoofing it because of the weather. I don't know if that's true. Maybe he was just taking a walk. I said hello to him and he smiled and nodded. At that moment I wondered if he had been day drinking. That's my story.
RIP Peter Jennings and Regis Philbin
Ed Koch
Loved Roz Abrams too!
I had the pleasure of meeting him one of the nicest guys i ever met.
Job well done, use to always watch Bill on news when I was little

I've watched Bill Beutel during my childhood. A classy gentleman indeed
He's no Peter Jennings.
@@alphaomega8373 I know. Peter was classy also. There's only 1 Peter Jennings
I was a child of the 70's, I grew up with Bill, Roger, and Roseanne.
