    Thank you for sharing.i have been in this since June 3 of 2021. Stage 3b rectal cancer. I am alone and just turned 68 in July. I have one more oxaliplatin infusion with Zeloda pills on August 25. I am so ready to be done with all the side effects. I also have no rectum other than a very small area where they joined what little 8s left to my descending colon. They also took out my sigmoid colon. I have had a loop ileostomy (Ruby) since last December 22. Ruby has been overactive most of the time. Needing many times of emptying daily along with complete bag changes every day or two. I am waiting to hear from my surgeon about scans and dates for reversal prep and surgery. Hoping late August to early September. I have many concerns about returning to my job and not having to wear adult diapers since I already have spinal damage in my back. I hope to train this body well. I do indeed grieve my rectum and sigmoid colon. Funny as that sounds, you don't realize how wonderfully God made us until something like cancer takes necessary organs away. If you have anything to pass along, please share. 💙💙💙

      Please please please have hope. I felt the same as you do. We seems like twins when it comes to all of your treatment. I had my reversal in January and exactly 6mo later I'm having regular bowel movements and control again. I can also hold it to get to a bathroom when I'm out. In between surgery and normalcy I did the irrigation method to give me my life back. Please consider that. It's just a giant enema every couple days and it will make work so much easier. Piece of mind came with irrigation. Now I only irrigate if I have a trip coming up or a very very long car ride. You've got this!! 💪🏼 Please feel free to message me anytime if you need guidance. I'm here. ❤️🙏🏼 Good luck with your last infusion

      @@utbrittani85ify thank you for replying. I hope to check pelvic floor and irrigation. It sounds like they don't so much care about irrigation but I may seek until I find anyway. Congratulations on NEW CT scan. May you continue to be NED forever more.

      @@gailanncastellanos6400 pelvic floor therapy was very helpful for me to learn how to empty my bowels after the surgery without suffering from clustering. They don't teach about irrigation but I've linked videos in some of my videos showing how it's done. I believe in you! ❤️

    I am so happy for you 💓 you put a big smile on my face. I'm going to need a colonoscopy bag for life. But that's okay, I'm going in positive with it. God is good. Just want to be cancer free and smile too. Very much love to you and your accomplishments. Bless you and your family. Talk to you soon.

    Hi Brittani I am Happy to see your full of Joy and glad to hear about irrigitation …I just wanna know what irrigitation you use and did you consult first for a doctor for this because I might ask also for this to a doctor and might recommend also for my husband to use it for important matters..but anyway I just wanna know the brand you use because that brand sounds good quality as you have already uses it😇Thankyou so much and wish you always a great life ❤️❤️🙏🙏

      Yes I had permission from my surgeon after 12weeks post resection surgery. I used a brand off Amazon. I linked it in one of my other videos but it's about $35. Nothing fancy. After about 6mo of irrigation I no longer need to irrigate so lots of hope to your husband because it won't be a forever thing. My bowels work perfectly normal now, praise the lord!! Irrigation definitely got be back to living a normal life sooner though and I'm very thankful for that.

    Can you explain this irrigation and what was the kit you ordered

    • @utbrittani85ify
      @utbrittani85ify  2 года назад

      I've linked the kit and the RUclips directional video below. Irrigation is a fancy word for a giant enema. Every couple days I give myself an enema and clear my colon out so that I don't have to go to the bathroom for 2-3 more days. I first tested my motility by eating some corn and counting the hours until I saw the corn pass. For me that was 36 hrs but everyone is different. So I know once I do the enema I have 36 hours of eating and enjoying life before I have to go to the bathroom.
