You can make hay bales with plant fiber. Combo mine/base is always a good idea. And if you are far enough below ground, you won't get screamers. Not sure how far that is. I was at bedrock but only 20 or so below the surface and got screamers while running forges. I also like to bedrock mine in an area that spans multiple bioms so I can get multiple ores in one hole.
Pro tip, if you are an off road minbike person ALWAYS mark your tunnels and especially pits with the x map marker. As you get close to them the x will enlarge on your mini map hud letting you know your about to f up. Digging a minibike out or taking it apart to bring out gets old pretty quick and if the fall is enough you will damage it.
Love the new tutorial! I didn't know you could locate deposits from the surface like that! If you need fertilizer, it shows up on the map in the burnt forest and looks just like the coal or nitrate deposits do.
Great video! Also, on the Navazgane map check out the Canyon Mine on the way to the desert trader. With some intrepid snooping, you'll find the standard ores plus a handful of gold, silver and diamonds in the walls behind the chain link fences around the mine as well as in the walls of the main shaft (this takes some ingenious nerd poling, but it can be done). I think I found (give or take) 2-3 diamonds, 5-8 gold, and 10-ish silver. Plus it's a cool POI to explore. Happy hunting! (Plus with a wrench you can pilfer a workbench up top)
Awesome thanks for the info also so very excited about the possibility of an update for consoles as I've been playing this since it came out and this new update if it is for the consoles might be the push I need to get a ps5
I did find some silver nuggets and a raw diamond while I was mining some iron and oil shale. I'm excited to build my own mine once I have the auger ready, just need to find the auger blade
Eww, rare find. I have mined those up a few times. Never knew I hit them until I saw them in my inventory. Natural born had some information on them. I think he even showed what the block looks like on one of those.
Thank you about the small stone!!! I try to tell people you have a chance to get either lead, nitrate or coal and they try to say it depends what biome you're in.. nope, it doesn't!!
rock is super stable underground you can have huge caverns no supports it wont cave in. The gravel is the cave in issue if you hit a big gravel deposit it will come down on top of you
Its cool to see a recent video of console version. Thanks! I found out that i seems to get way more lead than iron at forest bedrock.. am i just unlucky or is it a fact?
You don’t need to reinforce, at bedrock it won’t collapse. I tried, I cleared out an area bigger than the football field and it still wouldn’t collapse, I even dug all the way around the area and it still wouldn’t fall just a big chunk of ground floating. The last update console got screwed that up.
Dig boys dig😜 Did you know if you dig deep you get an achievement reward on xbox 🤫 you have to dig till you hear the same sound as you get at the trader when you hit something with the hammer like the a same sound when hitting the flag pole... I went to the dessert and dug straight down and built a base right on the bottom complete with swimming pool no zombies hear you but some off my air drops drop I have to dig them out😜 for some reason they drop underground 🥴
its your miner 69er. i ran a test for an hour and a sledge gave more nitrate and less coal and a steel pick gave equal nitrate and coal. with miner 69 the steel pick won.
@@ilikesonicxbro Unfortunately, there are no surface markers in the desert. Pick a spot, dig down to -45 or so, and just branch out (north, south, east, west). What I do is just dig a 1x2 tunnel in a straight line until I hit an ore I'm looking for. Then find the top of the vein, uncover the whole thing, and clear it all the way to the bottom. I've got 20k+ ores from a single vein this way. If you don't find what you're looking for after a few minutes of digging, pick a new direction. If you're out of cardinal directions, pick a new starting point. It will take some time, but it'll be worth it
Start a new seed or leave your base with all your stuff in it and start building a new one somewhere else on the same map. I usually make it to day 70 and restart or move to a different game for a while.
Just remember to put some frames above you while digging down. Last thing you want is a zombie conga line falling in with you
That has happened to me way to many times. I just keep forgetting. Lol
Great tip for sure

Also wanted to point out that I did NOT point out you broken leg before you jumped on the haybale....how many takes was that?
😂😂😂 may have been three takes

Definitely going to use this information when I build the underground part of my base for livestreaming. Thanks for the video!
Glad it was helpful!

This was great! I've played console version for years, this taught me a few things... Thanks!
Glad you enjoyed it!!
This helped me out a whole bunch, I never knew there were coal nodes and places to get nitrate out in the game. thank you so much
You’re welcome!!!
I do love me a guide and it's a Spartan Guide! Hell YEAH!!! Let's GOO!
😎✌️

Punch 5 plants to make 1 hay bale.
I like to mine the clay spots [brown circle] in desert at about -40 ish if not bed rock for oil
Noice

What biome was that in?
@@Spartan85 it was in the desert biome. I found those during episode 41 of my series

Nope completely random!! I think other biomes are better for certain resources underground
@@Spartan85 exactly!
For most veins like you said
Is it -10 from that area’s ground level? Or -10, from zero
rock is super stable underground you can have huge caverns no supports it wont cave in. The gravel is the cave in issue if you hit a big gravel deposit it will come down on top of you
That is correct I’d just rather be safe than sorry
Its cool to see a recent video of console version. Thanks! I found out that i seems to get way more lead than iron at forest bedrock.. am i just unlucky or is it a fact?
I would call that lucky haha I’m always looking for lead but I will say I usually get iron at bedrock

and you can make ashphalt with the oil shail
Yes that too!!

@@Spartan85 well that bedrock makes a really cool bottom to ya swimming pool I know that bud😊
The sledgehammer works differently with the small boulders. I feel like I’ve gotten a lot of nitrate from them. 🤷♂️
Hmmm interesting

Miner, not minor
😂😂😂😂
Depends on what you're into. Lmao

You can find a lot of every ore in the desert. It is the ultimate place to mine, and the veins are huge.
Definitely!!!
where at?

Is it better to use the auger to mine the veins or a pickaxe
Yes!! Just be mindful of screamers
auger. you get more resources and it takes less time to mine things compared to a steel or iron pickaxe.
Been busy, sorry😢, i wasnt able to see ur previous video
All good!!!
Did the update on the fate of The Builder series come out, and perhaps I missed it?
Not yet! Sunday
@@Spartan85 Thanks!
Next, do a Mine Grind.
Only use what you craft ONCE. Only repairs done to keep it a GRIND..lol
Yikes!!
What would happen if you mine under the radiation areas?
You would die quick if not instantly
Yeah it doesn’t help, death comes swiftly
Does anybody know what happened to NaturalBornNZ?
No idea
He came back for a vid or 2 and disappeared again.
Which biome is nitrate loacted?
Forrest and really just sent biome
dig in the wasteland for maximum nitrate gains. you’ll hit a node and from there, dig in a circle
What version is the xbox on? Ps4 is stuck on 1.18
Same I believe
1.0.18.004 is the xbox one version of the game
I don't know what to do when I have a lot of stuff and a strong base and a mining hut

I see the broke leg made an appearance. 😏😂

I never mine below ground. I just crush rocks into sand to make my concrete.
That works well too!!
