I got the Aventon Aventure yesterday and put it together in an hour. I had it out on the road a few hours later and wow, what fun. I am 55 and feel like a kid on Christmas. With five levels of power and eight gears, you control the ride, speed, level of workout etc. I weight 245lb, 6'1, and this thing is a beast, I only did level 5 for a minute or so but was hitting 28 easily. I took it out this morning and did level 2 in a mid gear and averaged 16 mph and covered some ground and got an okay workout, enough for me at 6:00am. If you turn the assist off, you will be shocked at how easily this things pedals in bike mode only. I was stopped by cars twice asking what I was on and how cool it was. It is even more sharp looking in person, I got the large green with the boys bar across the frame. The app is cool and tracks your trips and links you to other riders if you wish.
I ordered mine a few days ago, I saw two other reviews, which spurred me to go to their website, which is very nice and easy to navigate, I quickly learned that Aventon offers financing through a company called Affirm, which is very easy to apply for and I was approved right away, I also got the military discount of 10% which reduced the price to $1700.00 and got free shipping, that's awesome! I opted for the step through Electric Red M/L, and it will ship June 11. I really like the frame size options of S/M or M/L for the step through and S, M or L for the step over, this should become the standard for E-bikes. 🚲
I need a top bar to easily and conveniently lock my bike. The typical thing I lock to is a vertical pole with my 6" wide U lock. With a chain lock my complaint is not valid. U locks are my choice but without a top bar you can't use a U lock on an Aventure cept to lock the back wheel to the provided bike rack.
I ordered mine a few days ago, it's due to arrive Saturday May 8th, and I got a nice discount for my Military service (United States Army Retired) I am like a kid waiting on Christmas morning, lol ...
Did you order the bike as a “Pre-Order”? I placed and order yesterday as a preorder and says it will ship the 30th of June. Wondering if they will ship earlier than that. Thanks!
I bought a brand-new Aventure that arrived with a problem in the rear brakes. I have been attempting to get assistance from Customer Support for nearly one week to no avail. Aventon has my money, and I have a beautiful e-bike that I can't ride because it arrived DEFECTIVE!
I'm sorry about your bike showing up that way. Did you finally get a hold of Aventon, and get it fixed? I ask because I'm thinking of getting 2 avenchers for my wife and I.
@@chriscarey1478 I would NOT buy from Aventon. The bike itself is not the issue, but the lack of Customer Support is a deal breaker. Had purchased actually 3 Eahora's AM200 on Amazon and they are junk and was miss led by selling a 750W motor but is actually a 500W motor. So lesson learned buy from a dealer.....
a bit late, and i don't own either, but my general impression from research is that the aventure has a lot of nice extra features & some higher quality parts, but costs a bit more and the customer service can be lacking for support. by comparison, the rover would be connected to rad's superior support network & more responsive customer support, but some general components are a bit of a downgrade. probably the most glaring thing i've seen in some tests is that the rover 5 has a harder time getting up hills vs the aventure, particularly when only using the throttle. so i guess it comes down to priorities - get an overall nicer bike but risk possibly shitty customer support if something goes wrong, or just stick with something that's tried and true, cheaper, but not quite up to the same standard? there's a video from electric bike report that pits the radrover 5, aventure, and himiway cruiser that you might find helpful.
@@finalizer0 customer support is excellent now. I know a few weeks ago - before I ordered an Aventure - no one would answer phone or email. So I just got my Aventure and i love it. My question is, do you notice at times when you make a hard turn to left or right while moving slow your foot sometimes hits the mud guards on the way down? I have been noticing that the last couple of rides. Any fix for that?
I own two of Aventon Aventure's. They are great bikes. But the step thru arrived with issues, and both bikes were missing parts. I got my Aventure on June 3. I find the way the motor engages really annoying and sometimes dangerous. On every electric bike I’ve ever ridden, including my Aventon Pace 500, the motor engages after half a turn of the crank or less. On the Aventure the motor slowly engages so if you’re pedaling towards a light and slow down, then it turns green, it takes a good 5-7 pedal strokes before you feel the motor helping. It’s quite annoying and customer service has yet to respond.

I could go on and on of all the things that went wrong with my bike.... Go out and get you a scooter or a dirt bike.... These things are cheap little toys... They are not worth $2000...
The step through you can literally bend it out of line with your hands... I told them I would put these comments at any site I see on RUclips... If they did not fix my bike.. Before you buy one ask them to put the warranty in writing... That will give you a clear ideal of who you're dealing with. Lastly the only bike that has warranty they started At 5000 bucks
Step through = girls bike 🇬🇧
Step over = boys bike 🇬🇧
Not anymore, Mate!
*FIRST!!!!*
I hate the look of the fat tire bike..
Same they look terrible
I was gonna comment the same thing...no fatty for me
$1800 buck? For non brand cheap parts. WTF these bike builders charge so much for these cheap looking bikes. Is not a tesla plus you can’t even do 22 miles per hour.
Good video, food for thought.
Lectric XP @ $899 remains a great value, same top speed.
Purchased a reliable used car (Corolla) for $1,100 recently so $1,899 for an electric 73 pound bike seems less of a bargain.
Happy riding !! 🛵🚲
