- Nothing like throwing a big turbo on a mang machine! Today we check out what TJ is doing to his Holden VS Commodore! He has gone drifting 3 times and has now decided that he needs 400kw, the best way to do that is to chuck a turbo straight onto the Ecotec and let it mang.

Yo tali heat the edges of where you weld with an oxy/acet torch or a propane torch from bunnings, it'll burn up any oil In the pores of the alloy then get the soot off with a wire wheel and itll weld heaps better 👍

I just rebuilt a semi forged high comp high lift ecotec. Sounds like a V8. Just need my ITB manifold set up now.

Doing the same thing pretty much, I was told you can’t get the chip tunes anymore and have to get a haltec ECU to run the E85..could be wrong. Keen to see the progress and finished product 👌🏼
They actually came out in America with a turbo in the Vn to Vr bewick 3.8
I daily a turbo Ecotec on stock ecu with a l67 memcal from mace! It runs low 12s at reasonable mph and will run with most bikes! and only using 42lb hr injectors at 100psi on 98ron plus some octane booster and have used 26lbhr injectors at 120psi up to 20psi boost on the original memcal it’s also run methanol with original ecu and 65lbhr injectors and 30psi boost, it’s biggest tuning requirement is fuel fuel and fuel! And air temp sensor placement is a way to drop timing,it’s easy just using pressure to control flow! and an fmu is the cheapest dirtiest way around it with a heap of fuel pump!

Cool. I run a s2 Rb25det in my vg utility over here In nz we about to put it back on the road, kazz 2 way diff she was always fun to drive and now it's forged hopefully make big numbers.

If you blow up the eco chuck a 253 with a turbo, they rev out pretty well & sound good especially with a turbo. 4.2 so could use the same turbo

Commodore's should of came standard with a defective vehicle plate beside the vin in the windscreen. 😂
Watch the top of those plenums I've heard people say they will pop the top off with some boost, maybe just weld the cnt.
GM had turbo Buick motors in the USA.
the plenum could be a problem? Maybe a backfire with spray but I run 2 bar boost on stock plenum with no issues!

About $10 US a gallon, hence smaller displacement motors.

Down grade of the Buick . I replaced one of these under warranty in 1997 with 50k burnt oil due to terrible piston ring design and a spun cam bearing then 70000kms the replaced engine went as well garbage design one of the if not the worst engine put in a Holden commodore all they did was shorten the piston and claimed it made it more economically hence ecotech
