I don't like it when people compare them :/ I'll always prefer the wake though. Caeser's a great guy, I've had the privellage of talking to him and he's very humble and friendly. Not to mention extremely talented.
Yep - that is indeed Bobby G on the bass.....The Wake have gone through more bass players than Spinal Tap have gone through drummers and Siouxsie and the Banshees guitarists called John / Jon..... !!!!!

I think they're different to new order. Of course, you could say the cure ripped of joy division but I doubt people would. Just because they had a girl on keyboards and some synths it means nothing.
seriously. Now instead i'm condemned to forever emulate my post punk idols. But yeah i have to say, i looked up The Wake because that's what Caesr left Altered Images for and i think, really? Granted AI would start sucking within two records time but Happy Birthday and Pinky blue (the records) are gems. As for the Wake, half the time they sound like they're ripping off New Order and the other half they sound like they should stick to ripping off New Order. This song is good, though.

Quite mesmorising...
I said they *look*, not sound.
All these stupid comparisons with new order. I don’t see it. The wake are great! It’s another feeling.
Just how derivative could a band POSSIBLY be??
There is not a single original element to this.
Ah sorry...I think that might be Carolyns hair and clothes - extremely Gillian like. must have been the style of the time.
Yeah, the girl's clothes makes her look like Gillian and the drummer also looks like Steve Morris.
My gosh, The Wake look like New Order #2.

that being said, Johnny McElhone ended up forming TEXAS........ which is a lot lot worse.
i feel the same way i was born when this was already happening so i missed out.
Pah! Listen a bit more closely next time.
geeeeezzzz is that bobby G?lol

Ignorant
They called themselves "The Wake" because they were about as lively on stage as four corpses. What a glum lot.
